Darlah

Zoe
(Written by Nathan)

I know this is silly but it’s me. Earlier today we were thinking we’d not seen a miniature Schnauzer named Zoe in quite some time. Zoe was the rare exception we made for a non-Havanese. She had stayed with us many times. She played wonderfully with the Havanese. In fact, I think she thought she was a Havanese when she was with us. She could leap and bound even higher than our enormously agile Spicy and her kids, something we rarely see but loved watching as she ran and played with our Havanese. So Darlah reached out to her owners.

Sadly we got back an email saying that the dog had died of some autoimmune disease at 4 years of age. It is bad enough they don’t live as long as us in the first place. That is just way too soon to lose a beloved friend and it certainly brought tears to my eyes. It was so unexpected. It has, for them, already been some time. For us it is like it just happened. They recently got a new puppy. I just wanted to say that I will miss that wonderful miniature Schnauzer that played with the Havanese like she was one of the family.
