Wet Day

This is how it works. If you get behind due to unforeseen emergencies well you get extra busy the next day. So today I got a lot done but feel like I didn't get anything that I planned done. We also had planned to take out the Leti pups but really it was a wet mess and everyone looked at me with 4 eyes when I suggested they did. Honest, it was too wet out there.. See the gallery. Small gallery but its really icy out there. I promise to do better tomorrow.

Dogs are really having an exciting time. Dennis did a chase game in the house and I just about died laughing. I played retrieve and Nathan tried to take a nap with them but it didn't work out.

Needless to say all dogs got soaked today.

I let Murphy out in the backyard and she headed straight for the mud and did a face plant. Then she made sure to rub it in really really well. Still don't understand the face plant :)

She wants the smell on her. I would expect her to do such things. Risa also loves to do this stuff.

I hope you stick to your plan to take Sunday off even though you feel you are behind..

It's a no grooming day. I had a really tough 2 days so it's a must. Monday brings getting back to it. They will all survive 1 day.

February 20, 2016 | Registered CommenterDarlah

Maybe you need to reduce your workload more than just no grooming. I think everyone would understand if you didn't do blogs etc.

If I was getting a puppy, I would appreciate the daily blogs. It's why I do it. Where else can you follow them from birth on?

February 20, 2016 | Registered CommenterDarlah

I surely hope I don't have the last 2 days on a regular basis or I would have to stop the blogs. Good thing I multi-task.

Glad to hear you had some fun and that the dogs and Dennis made you laugh real hard!
Just amazed at how big Stone and River are getting. I had to look twice at the pics before I realized it was Stone I was looking at.

Hi Darlah. I agree you need time to yourself and to get important things done without exhausting yoursel and I could handle a few days skipped when you are busy or sick but I would be heartbroken if you didn't do blogs. Limited blogs will do. I feel we are all family. Call me selfish. I loved the gallery. They look so innocent and yet you wonder what they are into.

Sherry, Cooper does face planting also...actually he only started doing that about one year ago. He does it everywhere, on the floor, on the couch, snow, but he hasn't done it in the mud yet. OMG, that would be messy. Somehow, I can just picture Murphy doing it.

Rebekka also does the face plant but not in wet grass or dirt. Couldn't imagine dealing with that ! I swear she never has a nicely groomed head because she immediately messes it up when you finish grooming.

Hi ladies and gentleman, please do not laugh, now I know what face plant means, but what is the shimmy? Poop, or express the anal glands by themselves?

February 21, 2016 | Unregistered CommenterCarmen

If food creates a solid stool as it should then the anal glands are expressed naturally by themselves. To manually do so ruins the muscle tone.

Love the photo of Kat and Truffie wanting to go in....hmmm...I wonder why LOL. Who is the beauty in photo 18?

February 21, 2016 | Unregistered CommenterAnne and Cooper

That is Caddie. Depending on the lighting he looks red or brown with red highlights. He has an interesting coat. Paula imported him from Europe for a LOT of money - amazing lines. :-) She liked what he brings to our line. He is a total out cross. She is telling me I should use him on Roxie as Roxie's test results all came back excellent (meaning she could be bred) but 3 litters - oh boy. I don't know about that. Paula is looking at getting a pup or two from the breedings. I want a summer. hahahahaha Can you imagine all the puppies swimming?

February 21, 2016 | Registered CommenterDarlah

Wow, he is truly beautiful but oh my, a third litter, that would be crazy! I can see why Paula would want one or two though......it will be exciting for all of you, and all of us, to see what the outcome is. And yes, pups in the pool, how exciting!

February 21, 2016 | Unregistered CommenterAnne and Cooper

I did not recognised Caddie, too! He is speechless beautiful!

February 21, 2016 | Unregistered CommenterCarmen

Stone has very similar colori get to Caddy. If you do 3 litters, then it's confirmed ... You really are crazy ... Crazy in love with your Havanese!
