Done and Wet

Saffron is now finished her heat. She just had a bath so she can be out in general population without the residual smell that she is still in heat. I do believe she is happy about it.

Here is today's gallery.

I am better today. Just trying to figure out if that means better enough to go to class or not.

I thought Thyme needed a bath and then she ran outside and got muddy as ever and I said oh she really needs a bath and Nathan says - no you are not up to it.

Dogs are getting wetter than wet and mucky. There are some that truly enjoy cuddling in on the desk, on the chairs - wherever there are blankets in the tv room and that's everywhere. It's a dog's comfort room. Nathan thought it was a man cave - yeah right.

The 2 pups have their vaccinations tomorrow. Will be interesting to see what they weigh.

Angela: in answer to your question on yesterday's blog about teeth brushing, my vet told me to give Murphy a tendon to chew for 15 minutes every day and that it helps their gums and teeth.

Darlah, you sounded so sick this morning. I can't imagine you are well enough to go to class!

Saffron looked beautiful after her grooming.
I hope that you are beginning to feel a tiny bit better.

Saffron is so pretty! Love her expression in the photo.
Glad you are starting to feel better Darlah. Just don't overdo it!

Well, I went. It was debatable if I was well enough but I purposely sat away from my puppy pals as to not share. We shall see how I feel tomorrow after this but glad I went and got video and photos. I will share them in the morning.

Got to get well enough to head into Ottawa next week for my father-in-law's birthday.

Good on Nathan giving a reality check regarding bathing more doggies today.
Glad you're feeling better, Darlah. I'm sure it was nice to get out a little at class, just hope you didn't push yourself too far.

Hi Darlah. Please don't push yourself because I think Ottawa will be great but you have to be well. You are such a trooper. Angela we try and brush Rusty's teeth every other day but it should be daily. Our vet says check the gums so they are not red but pink. Darlah will be our expert though. Tendons sounds easier. We have to put Rusty on a diet. We give too many treats including people food when cleaning up from dinner. But how do you say no to that sweet little face looking up at you. You are all better than I am.

I just caught up with some of the other blogs ... Saffron's puppies' last class was very cute, and Ollie and his kittie pal was just too cute. When I brought home my second puppy years ago, Sammy my cat just looked down from the second floor and gave me that look that said "Seriously! You brought home another ONE! ... you were supposed to take the first one back!" She learned to tolerate them, but that was about it ... they kept trying to chew her ears and she saw what they had done to the ears on their stuffed toys. Hahaha

I'll admit, I do give Murphy treats but I put the Crumps dried chicken in stuffable toys and she has to work to get it out. Gives me a bit of free time because she really does like to be entertained. I need to learn to ignore the adorable looks she gives me when she comes to me with a ball in her mouth to play so I can get my work done. When I ignore her, she chews on inappropriate things, despite plenty of toys. She has me wrapped around her tail.

Ottawa is to celebrate my father in laws birthday. He wants to go to the Mandarin. It's not my Chinese place of choice especially there. We will drive in for the day and drive back at night. It will be a long day. But unless Nathan says something to you, (it's a sensitive subject) don't bring it up. The chemo is no longer working and the tumour is growing significantly. They are looking for alternative possibilities but nothing is working. So rather important that I get well as he can't be around sick people.

It's tough time for Nathan, I'm sorry about that.
It's important to spend time with your father-in-law because life can be so precarious. I'm wishing you quick recovery from the flu/cold.
Saffron is such a pretty girl after the grooming, but it's her personality that makes me smile a lot. I see Thyme really inherited Saffron's beautiful eyes!

Tough time for all.

Yes - they do have such gorgeous eyes and Tenshi is such a character. I just love how she embraces life. She is doing good in class too. Uploading the videos shortly.

Love the Saffron, she was meant to have that litter, they are all such gorgeous pups.

I am so very sorry about Nathan's Dad, been there and it is heart-breaking to say the least. I hope you are well enough to join Nathan to give him and your father-in-law your support for his birthday.

Darlah a very tough time for you. If you have to you can wear one of those hospital masks. I too have been through it too many times with my family and it never gets better. So sorry you guys are going through this. But it certainly is a time to celebrate and celebrate is all we can do. Wish you both well and my heart and thoughts are with you.

January 27, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterRonnie

Yes, who knew - what a grand litter indeed!! Some things are meant to be.

January 27, 2017 | Registered CommenterDarlah

I truly hope both you and Nathan feel well soon and have a wonderful visit with Nathan's father. These time you spend together are what's most important. Hugs all around I to you and your family in these tough times.
