Very Busy Day

Winston Being Cheeky

Rosie (Emmy's pup)

Winston and Bissli

It's a busy day. I still have 1 dog to groom after I finish the blogs. Nathan is at class with Thyme. I was unable to go due to my full day. I did 9 dogs so by bed it will be 10. Oh boy.

Today's Gallery.

So short blogs tonight.

Everyone is having fun. I am unmotivated to do my 10th dog but I must. Tomorrow pups and 4 dogs.

Feeling awful as I had to miss Thymes first class. But going and doing a dog and blogs at 9pm is a bit insane.

I love the pics. Remind me who is Winston's mom. They are all precious. I am sure you will fall into bed tonight. Have a good sleep. Hope tomorrow is a bit easier. I know that you never have a. Quiet day. But we love your blogs. Thank you.

Ronnie: Roxie is his mom - same as Rusty. It's why you see the similarity.

Tomorrow I have pups and 4 dogs to do a full groom on including haircuts. Tomorrow, Saturday, Sunday and Monday is insane. Then I also have to do the loot bags and the paperwork and all that fun stuff starting Tuesday but Tuesday is quieter and I need it to stay that way. hahaha

Record breaking time again with the grooming, Darlah! Hang in there, there's light at the end of the tunnel comes Tuesday lol.
Tenshi also went to class, it is so nice to see Thyme and Amy! Amy looks so fluffy and groomed! Thyme is a natural in the class, heeling? No problem!
Class was fun but it is more difficult then I thought. Well it appears that Nathan and Thyme think its a piece of cake. Tenshi is going all over the place trying to greet everyone (humans and dogs). And I'm having a hard time even getting Tenshi to look at me long enough to hear the command, sight >_<
Lots of homework to do for me.

Sylvia: It's not a competition. I yell at Nathan all the time to get the dog on a leash ahead of class. This time she was on a lead for the first time that day. That Nathan pulled it off is due to the reality that he has done this for a long time and he is RELAXED and knows what to do. The relaxed is the key. The more stressed you are or nervous the more the dog acts out. Nathan knows it will come together so he doesn't fret. Plus this is the first class. That is actually the biggest part of it. I find that by the 3rd class for new people it usually comes together as you know what to expect, the dog knows what to expect and you are no longer nervous in any degree. Practice helps. Did they teach you focus? If not ask Nathan to show you and practice with her. Do not stand near Nathan. He offers a more unusual distraction for the dogs. But they are better off for it. Ask anyone who has taken classes with him. When they start focusing on you and they will you have a dog that is better trained. It's just the initial work that you may feel overwhelmed but practice daily. Offer distractions when you do and it will come together. Ask Christine. <smile>

Amy was fluffy cause I bathed her. Thyme was bathed too but has a silkier coat so it does fluff out as much.

Thyme will always be an excellent heeler as that is Nathan's focus for the show ring. Each night he stacks her on the table. He has been doing that since she was a pup. He also did that with Amy as she was the one that was going to stay. So, if she is more focused that is due to Nathan's work early on.

It WILL come together. You will see a big difference by next class and then the class after. I will be there next week,.

Darlah, thank you so much for taking the time to give me some encouragement. I understand that it's not a competition but I can't help but feel like I'm failing Tenshi as her master. They did teach me the "focus" but we just need to practice lots at home before next class. I know we can do it, I'm trying to be positive about it. And I'm really trying to have fun with the whole process!

Sylvia:

Just realize we have all been there. The bonus you achieve is a better balanced dog, nicely trained but also your bond deepens. You do not think it is possible when going into it but it happens between class and the practice training. After classes are done, you introduce all that you learn through normal everyday living. It is very useful. Our Shoshi who is an old gal now I can hold up my hand which is a command for down and she instantly does it.

Sylvia, believe me, I've been there. At the beginning, I had no clue how to train Cooper. It stressed me out and Cooper could sense it so I let Russell do all the training. Now I find myself in a pretty good place as a trainer. As Darlah said, we've all been there. No doubt you and Tenshi will do well. Good for you for taking the classes. Good way to bond with Tenshi. It's done wonders for me and Cooper.

Seriously thank you for all your kind words and positive encouragement. I do feel better knowing that I'm not alone. Yoh are all amazing!
