Muddy But Fun

Yesterday and this morning we had rain and boy did the dogs have fun.

I am still sick so blogs will be short. Dennis is now sick. Nathan says he has a sore throat but Dennis and I are full tilt - joy not.

Here is a gallery.

Roxy, Poppy, Ellie and Molly are having a fantastic time. None are our breeding but they found our fun place of doggie heaven and they are doing really well. It doesn't matter how hesitant a dog is on drop off we always manage to get them to cultivate their coping skills and have fun and that they did.

I would have to say they are having a muddy good time!! Sorry there are not more photos but hoping I am up for more clicking tomorrow. All these photos was Nathan and Dennis' clicks.

That is one muddy pup. Dunking in a bucket before coming in the house might be an idea. lol.
Sorry you are not feeling better and now Dennis & Nathan are afflicted. Hope everyone feels better very soon.

That is such a funny picture. Not fun cleaning though. Darlah I am so sorry you are all so sick. I hope tomorrow is a better day.

Had a funny experience with Rusty. We were on a walk and Rusty met a Jack Daniels dog that was really friendly. As you know Rusty is timid never barks at other dogs and if anything just hides. This time he growled "angrily" and loud and barked at the other dog. It scared me and embarrassed me too. It has never happened before. I am still in shock. I didn't know what to do? What happened? Love some feedback. By the way we met other dogs along the walk (after this one) and he was his normal sweet self. I don't get it.

Ronnie: Without knowing the dog language the other dog was sending, I can't tell you.I would have put him in a sit and had him focus on me. Or I would have taken him across the street and conditioned him from afar. If he didn't react to other dogs this way then there was something about this particular dog. He needs to come more often if he is timid. He needs some conditioning to other dogs. Would be great if he came when we have Jesse here. Best thing is to expose, expose, expose!

Thanks Darlah. I have every intention of bringing him more often because he loves, loves it more than anything. It is organizing my days that gets in the way.

Ronnie, I have similar experience. When I thought a fluffy little dog is so cute, Tenshi will bark and growl at it. I would ask Tenshi to sit and lay down. But the owner of that dog is also pulling back and not let them talk. So Tenshi continues to bark at that particular dog and I still don't know why.
Or I would find this big boxer dog so menacing and Tenshi would want to go say hello. Or this Husky that I find too big and Tenshi wants to play with him. Sometimes, she would go on her back so the husky can smell her.
Or we met a new dog that is very timid and Tenshi was barking like crazy and the other one was growling. So the first few times, Tenshi has to stay a few steps apart and I ask her to lay down and stay. After a few encounters, they recognize each other and they are cool with each other. Afterwards, I learn the story behind that dog is that he was biting by another dog before so he was afraid.
And there was another dog that Tenshi used to bark at and the other one was chill. Now, when they see each other, they will both go on their back.
There was time that Tenshi was barking from far but once she's closer and said hi, then she continues on the walk.
I am also learning how to read dog language. Learning how to recognize that there's imminent aggressive behavior vs they are just talking and communicating by barking or growling. Sometimes I also have to control my own anxiety. Sometimes I need to relax to let them talk. Sometimes I have to say hi to the dog and the owner before Tenshi relaxes. But Darlah is right, exposing her to different things dogs people and environment is also my goal. At least she's comfortable when she's around some big dogs. I guess I can't expect her to get along with everyone because I don't know the story behind the other dog and the energy they are emitting.

Thanks so much Sylvia. It is important to read your dog and get an idea of the other dogs. Rusty walks very comfortably with Posie my neighbours med size dog. My niece has a standard Goldendoodle(?) that she did bark at initially but they are friends and play now. I guess trying to get them to obey when they appear out of control is a good idea.
