5 Weeks 4 Days Bath

This is the first born boy. He was super laid back. He didn't mind any of it. He didn't even mind his pads being done. It usually is a strange feeling they have the first time it is done.

This is the 2nd born - the girl. She was interesting. She didn't mind the bath. Didn't mind the dryer unless it was blowing too much in her face.

This is the 3rd born - a boy. He didn't mind the bath. He didn't mind the dryer nor his pads but he wasn't a fan of getting strung up so long as Nathan had an issue with the camera. It was as if he was saying - really - are you really going to take this long?

This is the 4th born. This is the girl. How did she do? Well she wasn't a fan but she wasn't bad. She also didn't think this stringing up to take photos was fun. But I have to admot Nathan kept having issues so they took an extra long time. Not fair to even compare.

Here is the gallery.

All and all they were fabulous but I am ever so exhausted. I had a VERY long day with grooming. I am having a drink just because. I was also moody. I guess being exhausted does that. hahaha

Here are the videos.

5 Weeks and 3 Days Old

The pups will be 2 days short of 6 weeks when you see them.

I can't believe the amount of teeth the pups have. Now I understand why the moms are trying to wean them. I like them to still eat from mom along with their food till 7 weeks and then whatever mom wants at that stage, so be it. But really they could be weaned now.

Check out the videos here.

Pups are soundly sleeping right now after their 2nd adventure out. They adjusted to being without moms easily. Today was the first time we heard them crying after they heard we were up.

We come downstairs, get water ready, food ready and then bring them downstairs. Then moms feed them. They play and then they take a sound nap.

Moms are now feeding them twice to 3 times a day depending on how full they get.

Moms had baths today. Pups will have baths tomorrow.

5 Weeks 2 Days Old

You will be seeing this crew a little bit earlier than the usual 6 weeks. Then we will be having a 9 week visit vs. a 8 week visit due to the holidays. We have a very busy house during the holidays and a number of you have said the 31st doesn't work due to it being New Year's eve. The timing is lousy, I know.

We also had to wait till the 4th of January for the first vet visit. Our vets will not be back till then. They too will be off. They have associate vets filling in but I prefer to wait for our vet. I know him and I know he is thorough. Second set of shots before classes can be done between January 25 to February 1st. You have to have your 2nd shots before classes. Everyone should join a class. It is great conditioning, it helps you to bond and starts the process of getting them to be all they can be.

Here is today's gallery.

As Adele and River is moving near us in June (Adele may come back for 1 more breeding - maybe not), we will be keeping a girl from Adele - most likely the one in Nathan's arms. This replaces our River who will be a therapy dog for our grand daughter Sarah. Adele will be a therapy dog for our grand daughter Danielle. This is so 'very' difficult for me as Adele and I are very close. River was extra close to Nathan. I love our daughter and grand daughters immensely. I am hoping they come back for day visits while everyone is at school and work. They will live close. We shall see. But I want to carry on this line. We have a lot of work to do before we get to this point as the boyfriend has a german shepherd and their first meeting wasn't great. So, they will be taking classes and hoping they bond. If they do not, we will have 2 heartbroken grand daughters. They can't go if it doesn't work. But we have to plan and proceed as if it will thus the retention of a girl from Adele.

This girl is the largest so she may end up too big but I doubt it. No one from this line has been oversized. I like her structure but its rather early to assess. So, we shall see.

The largest changes are between 7 and 9 weeks. It's why you wait till 8 weeks to figure it all out.

5 Weeks 1 Day Old

Pups seems to be doing fine with upstairs. They play, they sleep a significant amount of time. They love playing in the hall and in the kitchen. They are teething up a storm. This too shall pass.

Here is today's gallery.

Plus they give delicious kisses!

Videos can be seen here.

5 Weeks Old: Kitchen Added

Here is the link to the videos.  This is sure saving me time.

How did they do? Fabulous. They slept from 11pm till 615am. Wow! This is a good start. They played for a bit. They slept and come morning they played but didn't cry. Then when Nathan came to get them they were very excited.

They came downstairs, ate from moms, played and are now sleeping.

What a perfect first night.

They also had a play session in the kitchen. Here is the gallery. Be sure to check out the just uploaded kitchen video!

1 Day Shy of 5 Weeks

All the videos can be viewed on Youtube. Here is the link.

Pups are really getting strong legs. They also get quite waggy tail happy about seeing us. I always worry about them going upstairs without the moms. I have a camera so I can watch them and I can hear them and I do so watch them half the night. It's terrible but I can't help myself. They are in the room right across from us.

This is the start of them heading down the road of independence from their canine mom.

Here is the gallery of the hall play.

It was just me and the pups today for hall play. When Dennis is on day shift with us he will be taking them upstairs for their 2nd play session.  This will be a great fun time for the dogs.

4 Weeks 5 Days Old

We sleep so soundly. Dennis can be playing a video game in the room and they sleep through it. This is what we do. We make noises so they can fall asleep and stay asleep despite activity.

Here is the video from their hall play.

Looks like the moms have reduced their food intake. They are still feeding the pups but they are compensating for them eating food.

Looks like tomorrow night they will be going upstairs without the moms. The pups are growing up. In one week they will see their new families. They will also get their first bath next week. Exciting times!!

4 Weeks 4 Days Old

Is that a yawn or a huge belly laugh? Check out today's gallery. Pups are getting rather good with their legs these days. They have more and more floor space each day. They are starting to go from swimming to navigating. Good one, pups!

Here is a gallery of them in the xpen.

Will they be up to be without their moms come Sunday night? That's our goal. The pusp are growing up.

4 Weeks 3 Days Old

We look forward to our adventures. Today we found the glass doors fascinating. We like to go to new places. We have already figured out what the sherpa bag means. It means we are going somewhere and we like it.

Here is the Hallway Gallery.

We are now sleeping about 5 to 6 hours - wow! It must be the food. Moms are feeding us less already but we are eating a lot of food. We need to drink more water. It now appears possible that we will be upstairs at night without the moms maybe by Sunday!

4 Weeks 2 Days Old

The pups were out in the kitchen again. Maybe by weeks end we will also add an additional playdate and take them upstairs to play. We shall see. Here is the video from our kitchen fun. Watch it to see Adele in the crate and Jeannie in the house.

Some of them are very good on the floor, some are still getting their sea legs. When they are all good on the floor we will reduce the blanket coverage in their xpen. This will help them get used to both mediums and reduce my washing.

The pups are funny. Their personalities are starting to unfold. Going to be fun to see them on the 17th. Wow only 10 days away!
