Vet Says Today

The consensus is today. They are lined up. We shall see when. My luck - 2am. Temps ar heading back up. They are now 98.6. They go up when it gets closer.  Normal body temperature for dogs is 101.0 to 102.5°F (38.3 to 39.2°C).

Numbers and Xray & Temp Drop

Click on Photo for Larger ViewXrays are here and they see 4 pups. I sent them to our breeder vet to see when we expect and if she agrees but her temp after vet is 99.7. Now it is  97.6 checked twice. That usually means within 12 hours. As you can see 2 pups are in position. Stay tuned.

Temps This Morn

It's 99.2. We are waiting for a drop to low 98 ot 97.9

No Signs

Her temps have not dropped and she is not showing signs of an impending delivery. I imagine she will mke the xray appt. Then we will know numbers and how close. Stay tuned!

Growth

We get to feel and see growth daily and believe it or not each day seems larger. Xrays on Thursday so we can have a body count.

Tonight I wait for a new scale and thermometer. I will start taking temps tomorrow.The new thermometer gives you a quick reading so that is best when you have to take it so much.

Moms are doing well and are eating 3 times a day.

What's Next?

We are - well I am busy making room for the xpens. I want to be done by tonight. The biggest thing is moving things elsewhere to gain space but still have access to what you use. Usually we remove the couch but I want it to remain. We shall see if it does.

Sage is growing belly wise. The xray is Thursday. I will probably start taking temps on Wednesday night or Thursday. Why do we take temps? When they drop down to 98 and hold for a bit then it is within 24 hours usually. If they start nesting it confirms that it is close.

It's only Sunday so stay tuned.

Vet Talk

Was asking my vet when she thought Sage and Misty was due. With Misty it is a bit easy as she had a 1 time connection. She thinks October 31st - Halloween day and with Sage she thinks teh dame but win't cindirm till she sees the xrays.

She says now you have a theme and will have to come up with temporary names to fit it.

So, was talking to a few and they came up with these names. LOL

If course we are just being silly but this reminds me 10 days and counting - oh my. So much to do, so little time. 

Thinking

I just ordered stuffed animals where I can put the birthdate on the ears. I have an option of getting t-shirts that go on them and I could put the puppies name on it. I already have blankets but haven't figured out if I put a name, photo, birthdate or simply photos of all the litter. Just in the thinking stage for the going home bag. What do you think?

They will get another bath before they head in for their xray and then only the back end and feet after birth. We do not like to leave the pups without mom till older.

We have a ton to do before the pups come but for now Dennis is doing plants first. Setup in this room will be interesting as I would love to keep the couch in here but that means out to the hall goes my craft storage. We will see how it all unfolds. Seems like a lot of time but not really.
