This is minus 1. Where was the go getter? Was she hiding under something? Well the pups are now in their own pen without the whelping box. We did it before Nathan got back as they were climbing out so much it was getting scary. The only one that didn't climb out was the tri boy. The one that looks black has apricot bleeding through on his face, legs and I suspect he will get eyebrows. He just watched the other siblings go out and out and out.
Their first reaction to be out in this wide pen where other dogs can peer in at the corners was to whimper a bit but then they got curious and played recovery fast. When I check in on them I find them all over the pen. They have done really well with the adjustment but it is harder for them to find mom. Dennis is now going to start sleeping in the same room and trying to get on day shift. When these pups are 4.5 weeks they will head upstairs and Dennis will go to bed and Saffron will come to bed with us. When Rowan's pups go to their new home then Saffron's pups will move again so she has a door on the xpen. Right now she doesn't.
The pups are well over a pound now. We are going to try to feed them starter mousse in another week. As they grow they need more and more milk to gain and that means its taxing for a small gal like Saffron so we will give her a bit of a helping hand. Hopefully the pups will take to it well without any issues at the 4 week mark.
