XRay Time

Sage's xray is tomorrow at a new vet an hour away. I have no clue if they can send us the xray in email but we will at the very least know if there are any potential issues and how many. It is covid times so we can't go in. All the breeder's in the area use this practice. When we first looked into it they were no longer taking new clients. I had Nathan try again today and they said yes.

Our long time vet sold her practice and she comes to the house usually but she doesn't have an ultrasound nor does our local vet that instead deals with a visiting ultrasound guy. Our longterm vet is not available for emergencies. She needs time off and I get that but that means 9.5 weeks old for shots for Misty and Raven's pups. That doesn't work for the me, pups nor for the families so they will do this too. So, solutions is required. It also means no vet photos till after covid. Maybe Sage and Sprit's litter she can come again. I do not know. It will depend if she is available or not. My preference is a more relaxed surroundings visiting with a vet we love in our yard. But we need emergency possibilities in place too even if we lose out on convenience, photos etc.

With Raven, we realized we need an emergency vet that is a breeder's vet and experienced in reproduction as our longterm vet is. We need solutions so we are never in that position again. I could have bought a car and then some between the local vet and the emerg vet. It doesn't work. It's also not about the money or the puppy loss though that killed me but I also do not want to have a touch and go situation with a normally healthy gal and it was that. So... we have been looking for solutions and we hope this one works.

I am so sorry that you miss out on vet puppy shots - maybe not for this litter but certainly for the Misty and Raven's crew. I will still do puppy bath photos. I hope we get an xray photo but we will know after Sage's xrays. It is a 2pm appt tomorrow and its an hourish away. Then there is the visit itself. We will be looking to see when she is due and how many. Stay tune to tomorrow night. Check out Spirits blog for when she will go.
