This is Sage before her comb out. I just finished it now.
Here is the gallery I took so far today.
She is a very happy gal. She likes starter mousse more than fresh chicken. Nathan is going to cook steak for her today.
All pups are over 7ounces but one who is slightly less than 7 ounces. That is #3. All have gained well and her milk is fully in now.
She is a very comfortable mom who has no issue leaving them to go outside to do her duty as long as Misty and Raven are not left in here. This is normal. They are in need to protect at this age. She doesn't do anything but take her body across the whelping box to block access but that also means no outside to do her duty. So, while Misty and Raven's pups are sleeping, the moms are out with the other dogs so Sage doesn't feel the need to block her whelping box or me to have to close her in. I think a new mom needs the freedom to feel relaxed. Raven and Misty's pups have their moms when they are awake so it all works.
I uploaded the videos this morning. I am so trying to juggle well. LOL You can see how Sage feels the freedom to eat, to go outside. Sage is LOVING this motherhood. She is smiling so much.
As you can see by the times on the videos (Raven and Misty's are an hour off - Sage accurate) that I am up frequently checking on them. I live on coffee. heh But I love the babies and I always check as you can see with the Raven and Misty videos as well.
Sage's pups are already getting bellies and as you see they are also quite mobile considering their age. They cry when the sunlight filters in from the window as they get too hot. I lower the blinds and they instantly stop but I do allow sunlight early on when not fussing as I believe the vitamin d is good for them. It is only when they get too hot they fuss.
