22 Days Old... the puppies are engaging in play - walking better each day. They get excited to see me. Your heart just melts. I love this stage - becoming pups... More laundry - more work getting them on the pad but so worth it for the tenderness they give you.
Soon they will be eating, playing with each other. The fun has just begun.

Yes, even moms can be messy. The pups crawl all over them at this stage and well if you are Stormy you have that easy going fun personality. You have to love her!
They are actually getting around rather well lately. Little by little we will take blankets away so they can learn to walk on the floor. The pups love to be held. Such a truly fun crew already!

I really can't believe they will be 3 weeks tomorrow. Did 3 weeks go by already?
Poor moms need a bath and 3 weeks is usually when I do it but with my back, we shall see. It may have to wait.
The pups continue to climb through their hair, create knots and just love being with mom. It is wonderful to watch.

Have you ever seen a funnier pose as that creamy boy. I have to laugh and laugh!
It is hard to believe that they are 2 days shy of 3 weeks.
We will start feeding a pureed food to the but not till Leti's are 3 weeks. We want to feed them at the same stage as when they arrive at 4 plus weeks, they will be without mom at night.
This starts their process of being independent. This will not happen for anout 10 days/ Feeding will start in 5 days approximately. So many changes during this time.

I want to call this the snugfest crew. They too are now outside of their whelping box giving them a huge area to explore. They have stuffies in the pen and lots of blankets that I get to wash daily. LOL
They are starting to walk better each day.

Stormy also wanted to reorganize the pen. I must be terrible at decorating. Yes, I am laughing.

I keep missing the window of their play and not catching it on video but they do engage with each other. I vow to do better.

They are rolly polly with the gals being the lightest. All have eyes open - even that last one.
They are the most snuggly ones at this phase of their life. They just melt into you as if to say awwww.

We still have a standout saying closed eyes is best. LOL
This bunch is so loving and cohesive. They just love touch.
Stormy is so loving and lets them climb all over her. Will her boy open his eyes tonight - tomorrow? Time will tell.

Yes, I am a girl and my eyes are open too. Can you catch which one of my siblings decided to not open their eyes yet?
Here is the gallery. I have started to introduce toys and will rotate them daily.
They will start to get more active with the eyes open but it takes a few days before they are not blurry. Each litter starts playing in their own timeframe.

Can you believe they are now two weeks old. They are starting to move around and attempt to walk.
Soon ears and eyes open. I check every day. LOL
They sure do love their canine Momma as they climb all over her and she does lay in there with them. It is endearing.

Although eyes are not open yet, they can be quite comical in expressions. A yawn here and there. Making noises as I move them from the milk slot they want. Even complaining as I put them in the scale. I think this is all interesting. Imagine if you couldn't see and all these things were occurring around you. You can't hear yet nor see so you rely on touch and your sense of smell.
It is important to slow condition them to things they are not familiar with. Little by little they go - oh I like that! It is important to always hold them before eyes are open and after. A stroke here and there - a snuggle - it is all good!

Stormy is such a happy, happy dog and her puppies are. She so loves to spoon with you. We really, really wanted to keep one from her to carry the line down but her next litter, we will. That happiness is infectious.
In a few days they will be 2 weeks old. This crew more often that not likes to spoon. It's adorable.
Wonder who will love the pool.

The pups roll over at times now. They crawl from here to there. Momma pushes them together if they are halfway across the whelping box. It's a riot.
This room stays warm as pups can't self regulate their body temperatures yet.

Now we do have a video where Nathan says the rest is boys and I simply agreed but really are we awake. We have 2 girls, 2 boys here.
Pups are all chill pups enjoying the comfort and moms attentiveness. Can you blame them? I can't wait till the eyes open stage but we got a bit to go till then.
You will see larger photos of the ones above plus an extra one. We will do this again when the eyes start opening. As they do, we take an individual shot. They all open up on their own schedule. Early or later, there is no difference in health etc They just do it when it is their time.

The pups are 8 days old. If you look at one of the videos I took on my ipad, and listen, you will hear the pups eating.
The pups are doing really well. Stormy is an excellent mom. I am blessed as we have 3 very amazing moms. If moms do not enjoy this experience, they should not be bred, imho. The moms love it so much that they strut through the others as if to say look at me. It's a riot. Each day they get massages and hair brushing and oh that extra special food from steak, to freshly cooked chicken, bacon, eggs and the list goes on. Stormy and Willow are excellent eaters. Leti is more picky but will get less so when milk demands are greater.

Can you believe a full week has gone by when we had 2 litters on the same day? LOL
They want for nothing. Momma keeps them clean, fed and comforted.

They are doing really well. Soon they will need their nails clipped. How will we know when? Their nails start getting caught in the mats. It means their nails are just turning and need that part clipped. Soon...

You came to see my pups - not me - the life of a mom.
Pups are doing well. Soon I will do individual photos.
I am doing lots of laundry and bum cleanups. Moms have loose bowels always till 7 to 10 days. Whelping a litter does it plus all the extra food and changes in diet. But the tummy settles down and my clean up gets less in that department. You must keep them clean always.

Can't believe these pups were born 4 days ago. The pups are all close enough that at 3 plus weeks they will be in an xpen together. We will separate pups for feedings.
It is a bonus to have lots of pups and pups of another mom to interact with.they learn coping skills and how to interact with others.
