Cutting Hair Inbetween Havanese Pads

It's a really crude version of how to cut the pads between the feet but that's all I am up to - sorry and Nathan - well he could do better with the camera. When someone else's feet grow, I will do another.

Maybe Fiona's pads need cutting? I will try to do one on cutting the feet nice and neat but don't count on that for a bit.

PS: This was a non grooming day as I am not up to it so you get to see Fiona a mess!

Here's the video

Where did you get the neat little shaver? It seems to be just the perfect size and fits in your hand. I need one!

Marilyne:
You can get them at TSC cheap in the horse department and the dog department. They are the perfect size. See http://www.tscstores.com/Trimmer-Touch-Up-Fordogs-P2636.aspx and sometimes in the stores they are $15 and they last a long time.

You are right - perfect size!

That's a great video. Your subject pup seemed so relaxed and did not stuggle
to get away.

and where do you buy the stuff that makes them lay so still... Now that's a dream come true :)

That was Treasure but all will do that eventually. The bed is a trick. I put them in that over and over on their back till they get comfortable. I find they are better in a small bed than out of one if you are going to do clipping. Try it. I even have Rox laying in it now. There's something about the feeling of being surrounded on each side that lends them comfort. Treasure is a very dominant dog so laying on her back or doing a down was something she dragged her feet on. Trust helps and is built over time especially with the ones that beat to their own drum. You just haveto do it over and over and over again daily and make it fun.

Sophie is a dominant one and she has taken a strong dislike to the combing of her legs and feet. Still I persist and reward when she cooperates. Her nails are another story. I can't clip them on my own right now. She fights it so much. I took her to Petsmart for a nail clipping and it was horrific to watch. She fought it so hard, I didn't think anyone was going to be successful. I can't imagine her lying on her back the way Treasure was in this video, but I would love to get there. Any suggestions????
