Crazy Busy

Remember When

Not much to say today but we are crazy busy and will be all week till the 24th when I can play catch-up with the galleries, videos and such.

I hope you understand the delay and this way I can spend more time sifting through the tons I have clicked or taken moving.

The adults are doing well. They are getting love while Nathan watches TV or plays outside etc. I get less time as my focus is on the blog, paperwork, washing dogs etc but I make sure I make time to get my time.

Life will slow down. Will that be a good or bad thing?

We will keep blogging but the info may be fun as I talk about life with dawgs and maybe you can relate, ask questions and we will get there together!

Darlah - it's great to hear how the Mom's teach their pups and also your observation about their realization of one leaving and how they deal w/ it.

Some say dogs don't think but we dog lovers have all seen when they have something on their minds.

If you pay close attention they always tell you something. Some like Risa will even tell you a story with her voice. Between body language and their interaction you can tell. They used to think that they didn't have the gamut of emotions but with studies as of late they realize they do. If you pay attention to 2 canines they communicate with simply a look. It's a riot if you simply sit back and watch day in and day out.

Sometimes you think dog x is stirring up trouble when it is really y as you didn't sit back and watch to see who is giving that look. We place our own feelings into the equation and that too leaves the end result inaccurate. When you watch and take your feelings out of the equation you see interesting things.

One time Risa was walking with Kat on a trail with me. A German shepherd (we had the breed in the past) came up growling and not in a friendly way. Risa stopped. Took a stance and looked at the dog and he slowly retreated down and walked away. She had her baby with her (he was a pup at that stage) and she was a mom protecting. She didn't have to growl back. She simply stood ground and looked and the other dog knew she was serious. Size is irrelevant in the dog world. Risa is a confident alpha that doesn't have to prove anything and that dog knew it. There is body language that you learn but those looks are something else.

Darlah - I have a similar story of Tiffany and a Husky that roamed into our backyard before we had fences @ our new house. It was so frightening and surprising that my little Bichon scared this dog off the property, as it wasn't how I thought it would end, but sure glad it did!

A fun thing that we enjoyed was that Tiffany thought she could speak. She would babble and babble away moving her mouth like humans do when they talk. And, I could sense frustration when she felt she wasn't getting her point across . . . luckily we usually guessed.

They are great fun!!!

I recognize that puppy. If I'm not mistaken that's my little Sophie playing with a bug with her brothers Ty and Kona in the background. Tuesday was the one year anniversary of the day she came home to Connecticut. My how time flies!!

Yes, you are RIGHT! That's amazing Karen but they say we as moms always recognize our babies.
