Sentiments

I posted this on facebook but I know some of you don't have access to it.

Here's what I said:

Well now we are down to 1 till Monday when this cutie patootie makes his way up to Paula's house for living, training, playing and getting his chance to strut his stuff in the show ring.
I am rather deeply sad as I get when all the pups go ...or almost all go and then I get past it. I equate it with kids moving out and growing up. It's a process and I wonder if human or pups think I celebrate but I celebrate their journey but the process is a process that is hard. I do love the pups. I do love my kids and their kids - all different but important in their unique way.
I want to add to this message that when the pups come back for their play date or stay over on occassion, I gain closure and it all makes sense and makes the process worth it.
So don't worry about the process. It is necessary for all of us but so worth it to reach the end result for pup and family. When it all works it does my heart good!
I can't imagine someone not caring but we love them enough to know that we can't keep them all and that having that family to love them immensely - well that works.

Darlah - We both understand what it's like to have children leave home - human or otherwise and either on this earth or to another place . . . I like to think of it as a Butterfly . . . let them come out of their cocoon, spread their wings and allow them to fly off to their 2nd life . . .

Darlah, a lovely heartfelt sentiment. Thank you for all you are and do, you are an amazing woman!

Well said, Darlah.
I think it's equally important for the pups and dogs to have some time to reconnect and play as well. Then they also know that they are loved by their family so much that we all want what is best for their happiness. I look at Scruffs and think that he needs to visit so he can play in the ways that he can't with us. We are lucky that we live close enough to do that, as I realize not everyone can.

Lori: That is true. It gives the pups closure too knowing that their forever home is where it is. People wonder when they come will they want to go home and the answer is YES! That is why we do it after they have bonded. There is a method to our madness. We are the holiday that you love to come to and there is no place like home!

Beautifully said by all ... yes love is love whether given by human or animals... special indeed ... Envy is sure to be envied by all as he has a rainbow of colours ... sweet

Angie, I agree.....although I think sometimes the love of an animal has the ability to be unconditional in situations where a human's might not......does that sound horrible of me to say?

Darlah, I find that when we go away for short periods of time, Scruffs misses us and is more cuddly when we come back, even if he had lots of fun while we were gone. He seems to really appreciate his home, even though his "Nonna" gives him way more treats when she babysits him. LOL
And yes, my mom actually treats him like her grandchild! It's a truly beautiful thing to see :-)
