Mothering
It's nice to see the other dogs mothering the pups. The pups now follow whomever is out there to play with or just hang out with. It's enjoyable to watch.
They have all had a lazy day. Me not being whole and well I got everyone brushed, Logan washed and am having some chicken soup or trying to.
The dogs will soon gather around while I lay on the couch after Logan gets picked up. It will be a wonderful blanket of Havanese. Terra would join us but then there wouldn't be room for me. hahahaha So she will join me on the floor resting her head on me, I suppose and I will chill and get better. Best way to get well, I tell you!

I agree, nothing like some "puppy" love to make you feel better :-)
Make sure you get a really good rest Darlah, and don't overdo it. You need to feel better for those little ones on the way!
Who is doing surrogate mothering here? I would guess Wasabi due to hair length, but maybe one of the younger ones have grown more.
It is Wasabi. You are right!
Oh Wasabi is looking grand! Just as she should. :)
Lori: Not sure how Scruffy is doing w/ rain storms of late. Thought you (and others) may be interested in Yvette Van Veen's column, "Pet Owner's Manual" in today's Tor Star, Weekend Section. I really like her columns and coincidentally after last night's thunder bangers she discusses phobias to rain and how to deal w/ them. After having one dog that had a terrible phobia to storms which eventually led to panic hours long before rain even started, I'm still concerned about this happening to Laci. Yvette also comments on how this can crop up in adult dogs. How being insenstive b/c you have a confident dog can result in issues down the road. Anyway, I'll leave it to those interested to look up this column.
How did the show go today? How is Miss Abs doing?
Debi, so far Scruffs only reacts to thunder, mainly just that it startles him. I have tried to take him to the window whenever it is raining and thundering so he sees it's raining and understands. Also we go out to pee when it's raining, but he really is a prince. If he doesn't have to REALLY, REALLY go, he turns around and comes back inside without going....takes me back out later hoping it has stopped. If it hasn't, he just goes to the edge of the grass so he doesn't get too wet and runs back in. Despite that, we've walked and got caught in a pouring rain and he loved it. Trying to catch raindrops in his mouth, splashing in the drainage towards the sewers, running his beard in the puddles :)
You mentioned the article says it can happen if we are insensitive to it, what does that mean? What should we be doing or watching for?
