Vet Costs Can Vary

Check out Marketplace called Barking Mad. In my opinion they didn't go far enough nor did they use a dog with a real issue. If they did it would have been even more interesting.

Glad my vet here in Winnipeg has already started the three year vaccinations. we have to do two years on the Rabies because the city requires it. They have only ever done two year heartworm testing. His bills are quite reasonable compared to what they showed although my husband says he charges $10.00 per minute, he is always willing to answer questions and check on anything I am worried about. The best thing is that he is only about ten blocks away from us.

We have been doing the 3 year for a long time and in reality they last longer than 3 years. Titres cost more than the vaccinations so many will just revaccinate. I believe over vaccinations triggers auto immune issues in many and you are better off doing Dr. Dodds suggestions. We also do not vaccinate seniors nor do our vets. I also do not do kennel cough as there are so many strains that it truly doesn't cover and its a bad cold. We have had it. It sounds horrid but once they get it it seems that immunities kick in. Puppy shots are necessary. The one year rabies booster is necessary - after that your local laws seem to guide that. You must protect from parvo but after all puppy shots it seems for 7 to 9 years you are covered - imagine that. You can lose a dog from parvo. There are also studies out now that a yearly flu shot for humans is not a wise thing unless you are in the health industry and exposed to ill people on a regular basis. You must educate yourself and make wise choices, imho.
