I hope they are wrong or else no driving to Ajax for class. Pepper is doing better with the leash, no more bucking bronco, but for some reason, when it's on, she goes into turbo speed and walks so fast that my pace is actually too slow. It's comical.
Lori: She's doing better than Dusty. I gave up and I started working with her today. She is an ARE YOU KIDDING dog. She won't be herself either as she will have had her 3rd shot today - only day we could schedule it. Oh well - maybe she will be more compliant? This would have been no issue if we started this a week ago. Oh, Nathan.... You like to make life interesting.
Darlah, i told Roger he has to take the lead in class because I think he will handle it better. I usually give off the wrong energy and make things worse. On a different note, I'm really hoping we can eventually do some agility work with both of them. I can see Pepper is a natural and I think Scruffs would like it too.
So you can sit with me while I click photos. :-) Dusty had her 3rd shot so I expect her to be a tad out of sorts. Still walking on a lead would have been nice but she will be by next week as I am going to work with her. Unfortunately I may not be able to come next week depending on Fiona.
Folks - this is normal - pups don't normally like a collar around their neck and relinquishing control. But they do get conditioned and they do get there. I may put collars on Fiona's 4 on week 8-10 to see how that goes but they may end up being targets for the siblings and that wouldn't work either but we shall try.
Okay you practiced with the gal or she was just too good and too smart. Shall I take her back? I have to admit they were all so good. Is it my imagination but are you with the 2 dogs more relaxed this time around?
Darlah, I'm relaxed when I don't have to do any work in class.ROFL.
Last time around, Roger had all the fun and I was stressed because I had no clue what I was doing, so I said this time you be the lead....he never stresses and I bet you that is why Pepper did well. He has a relaxed vibe and I am all crazy energy. I did practice with her this afternoon at home where I can be relaxed and she did do well with me. But I had Scruffs with her and I think it helped calm her on the lead. Scruffs would walk beside her and follow my instructions too and I think it made her feel like it was something fun. Down will be a bit of an issue with her but she can be coaxed into it if I lure her correctly. Scruffs gets into the down position when I tell her and just looks at her like "seriously girl, it's so simple, just do like I do!" I think it's easier this time because we know the cues, how to lure correctly and how to properly reward......we really were clueless with Scruffs.
But, credit to Pepper as well because she is one smart cookie.
Yes - it's easier with the 2nd. It was nice to see you relaxed and you know you just let it out you were attempting down with her or thinking about it. hahahahahahaha I caught you. :-) She is a smart one - you too. I just found that you were more relaxed - Irma was more relaxed - just easier the 2nd time around. I also think it was great that Dick cleaned up before Irma even got to it. What a guy - nice! Tomorrow I look to see what I clicked.
OMG, one day, I swear! LOL. Just this afternoon. It's not my fault she is so smart :)
Tell that to Phantom and Spice.....they clearly make great babies!
They are smart pups. I took many photos - not great quality - was using a camera I am not familiar with but I am slowly learning and I didn't set it up - play with settings. I did move so got motion and I didn't truly think about my photos but we got photos. hahahaha
What I did see was how attentive the dogs were - WOW!!!!! More about it when I post the photos in a bit and post what I saw in the photos. Remember Brewer's parents never took this class and well I am bloody impressed with him and them too!
