Getting Ready
The Boo went home. Pepper and Scruffy got washed up for the picnic. Brewer, Logan and Panda already brushed out. I took a 10 minute swim. May take another but no dogs will be swimming while we are in this hold as I don't want the stress of brushing out and drying while in the midst of pups coming.
Here is the Pepper yesterday in her pretty bow.
I even got everyone brushed out already just in case. Spice is still eating with gusto so this could be awhile.
It's going to kill me if we have to miss the picnic more than you know. It's a joint effort from Chicadoro and Talemaker and it was filled last year with mostly Talemaker dawgs. It used to be here but we have too many dogs so Yvonne offered to do a joint venture. If all is well, I will be going and Nathan remaining. He is going to 2 specialties in August so I thought it has to be him cause I know how you feel about the guy but I am going to take him up on the offer to go as it will be 3 things I miss vs just 2. I hope you understand. If we both can't go, please take videos and photos. I will miss it but I would like to see our dogs please. It does mean a lot to us to see the dogs.
We did not cancel the event as the timing was best for Yvonne, Alex and Gerda. We want you to have a great time so please do and please attend!
I am not sure why that isn't understood. You can't believe the comments we got as if its not our event too. <sigh> It has us rethinking the joint venture and I don't really want to do that. <sigh>

Pepper did look so adorable in that pink bow...what a cutie pie. Thank you for sprucing them up in time for the picnic. Scruffy kept lunging for Pepper's bow as soon as he realized I was fussing over it and taking pictures of her. It's like he understood and was saying, hey, I'm just as cute even without a bow, i want attention too!
We will miss you, it's just not the same without you, but hopefully if Spice has her pups today, you can come. I hope Talemaker people will still attend. Scruffy had so much fun last year and I know he will have so much fun again. This is Pepper's first picnic so I'm curious to see her interacting with all the others, both humans and canines.
I got remarks as if I missed it so no biggie if you are not there to I am not sure why you are upset you might miss it. If it was reverse, I wouldn't mind you doing it without me. HUH? Yeah it bothers me and if you don't 'get' that you don't know me. Here's to hoping we can go. But she ate with gusto so I am going back to swim thinking it will be 2am. Just because I said the 17th. hahahaha
Lori: It was my pleasure to do that for you. Take videos of the Pepper please if we are not there.
Oh my! What a pretty girl Pepper is. Lori, is the bow still in? I'm afraid I persist and keep Laci's in too long as they're usually way past due to to take out when I finally get a picture of her. LOL
Still haven't decided if I will be attending with Bailey as hubby and kids are working on Saturday. I'm a little unsure about how I feel about going on my own to the picnic. 😕
Sylvia you and Bailey will be welcomed by all the other Havanese families.
When I attended the first picnic with Kona 2 years ago I did not know anyone.
Yvonne & Alex made us feel welcome. It was so much fun to see the great variety of Havanese their colours and haircuts. We all have Havanese pups so this opens
the door to all sorts of conversations. Sadly this year Kona & I can not attend because of a large family gathering. (I would prefer to go to the picnic, he he)
I hope folks take lots of pictures.
Sylvia: I *may* be there if everything goes well. Kathy is right. You should go. The majority of dogs attending are Talemaker dogs. You will see some of Yvonnes and a few that used to come from other breeders. We tend to advertise it more than Yvonne. If I go and Nathan can't I may try to get Helen and Suzie to bring me so he has a car in case there is a need. If that is the case, I will probably just bring Risa and either Abigail or Fiona. We still haven't had the 1st pup so I can't know yet. She has not progressed to stage 2 labour yet. It's going to be a long night.
We attended last year and had a wonderful time meeting everyone. We did not even have our first Talemaker Hav yet! Timmy was about 6 weeks old at the time and we were anxiously waiting for him to come home. Yvonne and Alex are wonderful and their yard is perfect for this occasion. Please everyone, do try to attend. We know how much this means to you and Nathan Darlah and would miss you terribly if you couldn't attend! But we understand the newborn puppies and Spice must be the priority. BTW, we care EQUALLY for you and Nathan!
We will be there with bells on! Hope you can all make it. It is a wonderful gathering of Havanese and friends! Hope Darlah can make it, understand why Nathan would not. Either way, we will be thinking of you and will miss you.
Griffin will be there with this family and I belive Tuffy and hers will be trying to make it as well. Totally looking forward to it and meeting more havanese owners.
I will remind my hubby to bring his camera to take pics and get my son to take a couple of videos. :)
Tre and I will be there. Naturally we hope Nathan or Darlah will be able to make it if not we totally understand, but we will enjoy visiting with all the havs and their owners.
We're sorry we won't be able to attend our first picnic. I couldn't get a appt with the vet for Bentley's second shots until Monday (sigh). Will be there in spirit though! Have fun everyone. See you next summer...
So sorry to hear but when things settle down a bit we will have you over for a puppy visit with the siblings - maybe we will do a few of the wee ones together.
