Rain and More Rain

Some dogs love it, some hate it.

Angela said this photo if Patches and said:

She insisted on going on the deck to catch raindrops in the worst of the rain so far.  I just love her so very much.  Hugs!

From me: What a riot she is. Love that spirit!

But I have been busy cleaning dogs so no update but this one and the puppy blogs.

Cute photo of Patches catching raindrops! Hope the wind didn't blow her away too much. Pretty nasty out there!

What a great pic of Patches loving the rain....she is so cute and that is so funny she tries to catch the raindrops!

That's sweet. Hugs out to Patches.
Clarity also goes out to the deck when it rains ... She pees on the deck and runs back in! The deck is covered so she doesn't even get wet. LOL. I keep a watering can handy, so no problem, I just wash it away. Actually saves the grass so all good

I use a watering can too. :-)

I guess we all use watering cans lol With us, the deck is safer for her than our back yard since we live on a ravine with lots of wildlife. Our deck is one floor high with no way from the back yard to get to it. So, when she wants to play in the rain, I can watch her from just inside the door and stay dry. And, my eyes stay glued to her? We are all such protective moms.

Angela, you are so right, we are so protective....even when Coop is in "his" fenced in backyard alone, our eyes never leave his sight. They are so precious xoxox

Precious is absolutely right, Anne. xxxx

I agree with you. Once it is dark Rusty does not go out to the backyard. We walk rain or shine. However unlike beautiful Patches Rusty rather hold it in rather than go out in the storm. Then when the rain gets lighter we walk, he pees forever and then runs back in the house.

Patches is so darn cute outside in the rain!

Gee, I should have tried to catch a photo of opposite boy this morning. Trying to balance on a narrow ledge outside the patio door so he doesn't have to step down to the wet bricks, and also trying to pee AND paw at the door to get back in all at the same time. Weird. He doesn't mind getting his fur wet, but wet feet are a no no to him. Wait...... that is probably because I follow behind him trying to dry his feet all the time. I have made my kid into a gymnast, lol.

I am just lucky with Patches liking the rain. I have had dogs before where we had to hold an umbrella over their heads, not ours, so they would pee and poo in the backyard. Patches is the smallest dog we have had and we have had 9 over time. So, the deck is perfect for her when we don't want to deal with pouring rain, and, when it is dark. hahaha

Shoshi hated the rain so each day when it rained, I placed her in the center of the grass. I did this for an entire year. She no longer hates the rain. It took a long time but conditioning works.

Hmmm. I wonder if how you conditioned Shoshi would work for Kona.
He tries to walk on the curb rather than the grass. Perhaps because he does not like his feet wiped off when he comes back inside.

Glad to hear Rebekka isn't the only one who pees on the deck when it is raining. Can't say I blame her since her hair gets soaked whereas the rain just runs off my other 2 furballs !
