Protection in Numbers

Everyone can smell Clarity is not her usual self. She has just had her spaying and is twitching and is itchy. We are giving her some Benadryl to relieve her desire to scratch.

What I found interesting is the girls rallied around her protecting her, almost a mothering instinct, always checking with her.

Here is today's gallery.

Mia has arrived safely at home now. Bauer is now home. Both had a great time.

The boys are full out playing crazy. Running like the wind with Inula in the midst. Nathan just came in all excited talking about the great race they were all doing. I said did you get photos? He said no. I forgive him. He's tired. So am I. But get this hes helping out at the Markham show this weekend. Oh boy. At least hes home each night. How did I forget about this show. No, he's not showing but setting up and ring stewarding.

Oh well 8 more days and I am sanding doors. Summer is coming to an end and puppies will be here and so will the next round of heats. heh Not looking forward to no sleep with pups but excited about them if you know what I mean.

Poor Clarity and what wonderful dogs to try to help her. Wonderful story.

Seems that they all like to sit and look out over the pool. They seem quite contemplative. Love the pictures of Saffron with her chin hanging over the edge of the step. She's gorgeous.

They do like to hang out at the pool after a run or two. Me too. Something relaxing about sitting at a pool.

So glad to hear and see how well Clarity is doing ... But of course, she's with you guys and her buddies. 😊 So sweet seeing all the dawgies rallying around her. Is that Ella draped over her? They seem so content. Perhaps she's saying, "stop that scratching, Clarity, and if you don't , I'll just lie on top of you!" ... And so she did.
Good to know about the Benadryl. I assume it is liquid form? I'll get some and you can let me know how much.

Love looking at the black and white dogs, long hair, short hair and even the shaved ones. I keep thinking I should paint a picture of my dog but I am not sure how to draw and paint the shadows. (Don't tell my instructor, she has been trying to teach me how for years). Then I see a beautiful sable and my heart skips a beat. What a beautiful family of canines you have produced. Between you, Darlah, and Nathan you are not only great breeders but fantastic educators and a never ending source of help for all who follow you. I have learned so much from following your blog and I just want to say a GREAT BIG THANK YOU.

Marilyne, I feel the same way. I couldn't have picked better breeders, honestly. They understand us and any questions we have and try to help with everything, always educating us so well. I feel so much more equipped for my next puppy. I have always had dogs but Havanese have their unique ways and needs with grooming etc. and I am so glad I have one. Can't wait for the next. Thank you Nathan and Darlah, thank you so much.

Christine, yes, it's benedryl (liquid). I have it on hand just in case and it does help with itching. I sometimes get sun sensitive so it helps with the hives too.

Marilyne/Angela thank you but we just try to do our best. Life happens but we keep trying.
I love a striking black and white and I love a sable. I like the whites and golds and well I like them all. hahahaha

I agree with you Darlah. Sometimes it is a sable, or golden. or light blonde, or black & white, I love them all.
