Too Hot

Had a busy night so no update today. Got Moxie cleaned up. I did get a quick swim in. Had pups outdoors. Working on galleries. Penny, Goldie, Ziggy and Moxie departs today. The Grace arrived and is having a grand time.

Everyone is well, just busy and every now and then less is better. :-)

Darlah, Saffron's blog is not allowing comments. But, how beautiful they all are and Saffie seems so totally happy! Congrats to all.

Try again. Think I fixed it. Thnx... they are beautifull. Oh, Stone..

All in code ... But I figured it out. Wonders never cease ... They are beautiful. Glad all are well.

Not sure I understand. You didn't know until her water broke?
Last week Tracy said it was a shame that Saffron wouldn't have puppies because she would make such a good mom! You can tell that's so true from her picture. She is just beaming. Still couldn't post on her site.

I also remember picking her up and thinking how much heavier she was than Murphy. Makes me laugh now!

Sherry: Stone connected with her once but due to his age, our vet felt the chances of impregnating her was extremely low. I was going to spay her but she didn't want to while she was in heat. So, we went with the odds. A few days ago she seemed to have a round tummy but not terribly so. I sat with her and checked her for kicking every chance I got. Never felt any. I made an appointment for Monday for the vets.

As you know, I had no plans of breeding her due to the size of the litters her mom and grandma had. To be honest, it scared the hey out of me.

Last night her water broke and within an hour she had her first pup. Nathan sat with her while Dennis and I went crazy setting things up.

Now she didn't show except for the last few days. She didn't have kicking (maybe pups were so tightly tucked or just liked to sleep).

Then she had good sized pups and she had 5 of them.

So, it was a surprise and it wasn't. There was always that 'maybe' but it just didn't seem likely.

I didn't get a bath in. I was clipping the hair on her tummy after she had the first pup.
Let's just say last night was interesting. She not only had 5 and I still don't know where she hid them but they were of size and they are gorgeous.

Now I am back to trying to balance baths, grooming and sleep. heh Plus I have a friend coming next week when pups are about 7 days old. I had plans to do things with her. I haven't seen her for years.

Still trying to digest...

Christine: You just saw her. Did she look pregnant to you?

August 28, 2016 | Registered CommenterDarlah

Sherry: She has always been heavier than Murphy but when you picked her up did you think she was pregnant?

Off to figure out what is wrong with her blog.

Can you go to her blog and try to post again? I just did a test from the ipad and I had no issue.

I had no idea. I even spent some time with her and picked her up and gave her a hug
Although I do remember when you heard they may have connected. I was asking when I should neuter Farley and you said not to do it too young as Stone wasn't even able to at the time. That's when Nathan said, "not quite, he just did with Safron" and you said, "but they can't, she's in heat!" And Nathan said, "well someone left then together and he tried."
Can't do anything but laugh at it now. Just really glad mom and pups are doing well. Feel for you guys, you have A LOT on your plate. Maybe we see you at class on Thursday, maybe we don't.

Although she had this sly little grin on her face as if she had a secret that no one else knew about (I even commented on her quircky little smile). 😍
