Long Weekend

Just a few clicks today.  We had the 6 week visit. We cleaned the house. Did laundry - all the fun stuff that we wish magically would do itself. I also had a FULL day of grooming and more asking me that I had to turn down. I do so apologize but last minute on a Saturday and a holiday weekend, not good timing. Still, I feel bad. But that's just me.

Dogs have been having fun in and outside. I am about to move the play area for the pups so we can work on that evil gazebo. The daughter is still not home yet so may as well do the prep work.

We can all celebrate when it gets done or thrown out in the trash. At this point it is debatable which it will be.

We had a few extra visitors this weekend as everyone decided it was extra nice outside so why not. I get that.

I plan to swim tomorrow that is unless we are delayed with that no name thing and it needs to be assembled. I so hope to get some dogs in. It's getting to be almost the last hooray. <sigh> Will hate when the pool closes and so will some of our dogs but they also love the trampoline effect of the safety cover. It's like the end of a holiday though for me. I get caught up on the PVR. I no longer care about the garden and well if that white stuff falls, I can click grand photos of the dogs.

We will see what unfolds. Have a great long weekend - folks!

You have a great long weekend too, Darlah! I get a little tired of gardening by September and know that all the leaves are ahead of me so I don't do much gardening now other than rake the leaves. It's funny how everyone sees Labour Day as the end of summer when we still have a couple of weeks left officially.

Adorable shot of Winston (I think) laying on the tile. And of course my beautiful Murphy (I may be biased).

Well I hope you do get in the pool tomorrow, Darlah, and it's supposed to heat up again with humidity come Monday.
I'm going to admit it ... I am an addict ... I keep gardening until my fingers start to freeze. In fact, I just bought two new hydrangeas as I'm planning (ok, it was a last minute plan when I was driving by the garden centre) to move some stuff around. ... and yes, I got a few large pots of annuals as well. As to swimming, I keep going until Thanksgiving just before the leaves fall in my backyard.
The two amigos had a blast doing the crazy run in the park this evening - the cooler evenings get them both going. Both are now snoring on the couch as I type. Happy Long Weekend, everyone!

Hi all, don't get me wrong, I love gardening. We have been in our house 25 years and a lot of our plants are fully mature and I must admit there isn't an inch to put anything else in. I just enjoy the maturity of it now and the relatively low maintenance. We only have grass on our boulevard, the rest is gardens, hardscaping, or a big space in the backyard with flagstone and pea gravel for the dogs. No grass you say for the dogs? Well, we are lucky. We live on a ravine/walking trail that has tons of grass and they are daily on that!

I love to garden but I have this 'no time' issue.

No kidding, Darlah. I really don't know how you even get done what you do. You're such a selfless person who does so much for everyone else. I believe "what goes around, comes aroun" or "you attract what you put out there" ... You should have a LOT of good coming your way ... Some day (hopefully sooner than later! 😊
