Bitter Cold Still

Tia says - really cold white stuff... really?

We are not getting many good photos. Even the lens is fogging up. Have to laugh but here is today's gallery.

In top form Saffrom climbs right over the xpen - really. So a closed door is a must.

Everyone is staying inside but out for tiny body breaks though we do have pads down. Not everyone knows what a pad is but we are trying. With it being cold for a number of days, it is useful especially when some say - are you joking - you want me to go out in THAT!

Soon tv cuddle time!

Hope this cold weather ends soon. I suppose pee pads come in handy especially with all the dogs that you have. We don’t use them but those little socks I bought do the trick and make for outdoor business a “breeze” in this weather. I must say that I’m quite tickled pink about them, they go on in a flash and are just warm enough for an outdoor trip of about 5 minutes. No paw lifting 🐾❄️👍

Know the boots work for you but they wouldn’t considering visitors etc. I use bag balm on their feet and we reduce outdoor play. Pads work when it is pouring or too cold but we always take them out for short outdoor duties when it’s like this many many times a day but there are some that are allergic to rain or deep cold and have no clue what a Pad is so we acquaint them with it. It’s a lot of work but so would putting on boots on everyone.

Putting boots or socks on visitors would be a heck of a lot of work!

I just got the pad balm and going to try it. Boots have been to hard and we barely get a coat on Rusty We have been going out the back because even though I carry Rusty across roads there seems to be lots of salt and he lifts his paws and whimpers so I immediately wash his paws in clean snow and take each paw in my gloves to get warm. We have had little walks on the street mostly backyard but Rusty misses his walks. Crazy weather. Can't imagine you would be able to do it with all your visitors. Somehow he can manage being out back longer than when we go for walks. I really appreciate knowing about the balm. I have a pad down just in case.

Happy New Year to all my fellow Talemaker families. Darlah i appreciate all you and Nathan do for us and can't imagine my life without Rusty. Wishing you a healthy and exciting year ahead.

Thanks for the tip on the balm. Just remembered that our local groomer gave us some last Saturday, I wasn't sure what to do with it. I will try it today.

Clarity had no problem with the boots, but too much work for 8 feet now that we are two doggies ... especially for a short stint so we just go to the backyard for as long as they can handle it. I avoid the sidewalks with all the salt.
Saffron climbs the x-pen, does she?! Don't know if you remember ... when I brought Clarity home and left her alone for the first time I closed off the doorway to the family room with an x-pen only to come home and find her upstairs. I couldn't figure out how she was getting out so I hid around a corner only to watch her take a few steps back before taking a flying leap over the dam thing! That was the end of the xpen gate.
Farley is even more agile jumping like a bloody kangaroo in the snow. I bet there is up to four feet between the spots where he lands when jumping through the deep snow ... gotta measure it one day!
