Long Day Short Blog

I heard that the dogs had a blast with Dennis and looking at the photos it had to be true.

Here is the gallery.

He may have missed someone but hes not great in saying I clicked this or that so I need to click this one. He just does it when he has time. Still, there are some fun photos in this gallery.

It was a long day for many reasons. Dad is sleeping a lot. We did get him to laugh and he so wishes he could have a party for his birthday in January but knows its not likely.

We are looking for a good quality tempur padding, If he sits up he gets sores as his bones are sticking out next to his skin and it hurts to sit. So - ideas. He has a cheap one but its not helping. Maybe nothing will but we are determined to try to find something for him.

Till tomorrow. Just too exhausted and I need to reconnect fully with the dogs.

Does he have in-home hospice care, Darlah? Hospices nurses are amazing, and they know the best products for all kinds of comfort measures and prevention of problems like bedsores.

So glad you made the trip, as exhausting as it must be you’ll cherish these memories. Hope you’re able to find something comfortable for him. Dennis got some great shots of the dogs having a fun day, he’s got your talent!!! Hugs

What a fun above picture! Please say thank you to Dennis for taking care of Tenshi.
I’m glad you and Nathan are treasuring every single minute with your dad. Gestures speak louder than words. He will feel the love that you have for him.

Happy that you made this trip. More memories were created no doubt, to be cherished forever.

Dad is tired. He sleeps most hours in a day. He was fast asleep when we arrived. 2 months ago they gave him 3 months. He is looking skeletal. He now weighs under a 100lbs and he is not short like Nathan. He so wishes he will make January for his birthday but knows it is not likely. Still he wishes. He does have hospice care at home. They are draining a gallon and a half of fluid out of him twice a week. He has day hospice at a facility when he is able to go. We go again next week so I will likely go to the shoppers places where you can buy home care supplies. He needs something that allows him to sit up. Yesterday's drive was horrid on so many levels and Nathan tells me stop telling people as he doesn't want to talk about it. We all deal differently. I need to talk. He closes down. He is no longer able to take the drive by himself. He thinks too much so he needs the singing - he can sing, I can't but I try and he laughs about it. It is a process. Traffic was really, really bad and we encountered 3 accidents - the worst one was a truck on its side. Life...

Yes, we all deal differently. I think in some ways women have it easier, because we are more likely to want to talk. (A generalization, I know.) It’s good that you know how you both cope. Talk away here, Darlah. Many of us know how hard this is, even when we have a Havanese to cuddle.

I forgot the camera.

Thanks everyone!

Anything made from sheepskin will help protect from skin breakdown. I know Starkman’s surgical supplies had something. If you look on line I can pick it up for you. It’s awful to watch someone you love suffer

I looked at Starkmans and truly they do not have what is needed. Maybe look at Markville when we are there.

Thnx Ronnie
