Rainy and Muggy

We close up the area when it rains and the dogs that hate to get wet can still go outside and not get wet. LOL

Here is today's gallery.

You can find an Emmy update on the Ella blog. She is so adorable!

Ali and Sky had baths today. They go to the vets tomorrow and I will let you know how much they weigh.

No one went swimming today - human or dog. The weather just didn't cooperate.

We did play. We did have fun. Ali and Tenshi have a thing for each other.

Levon has started to try to steal Triggers toppers - like ground beef etc heh

Poor Trigger. We sit beside him when he eats, whether it’s a meal or a treat, so we can stop Levon from getting anything. He’s such a little bugger!

Some pups just can't seem to get enough to eat. They want theirs and others.

Its funny, Levon was a fussy eater until we got Trigger and ever since he inhales food...like if he can finish his, then he can have Trigger’s (he can’t, but 5 years later he still is hopeful).

Murphy walks right up to my sister’s collie and takes the chewy tendon right out of his mouth. And he lets her.

Desi has his vet visit Wednesday. Will be interesting to see all the weights.
Too much positive reinforcement, e.g. Liver bits, can put on the ounces!

Tiny pieces. Too much liver treats can also wreck havoc with their bowels. I say this as it has happened here. It is why nathan shows you the size. LOL

Oh, I know, I cut them into bits with scissors! 😉

Shannon: can't help it - sibling rivalry. He is always thinking...

Margaret: good.... Remember only give him treats as a reward not just because. It will be more effective that way.

If you want to teach him to sit, take a treat, put it in front of his nose and bring the treat slowly back over his head till he sits down. Say sit then give him the treat.

Also you can put a collar on him with a lead and let him walk around with it. He won't like it but it will get him used to it. Don't leave collars on as it will create knots on his neck.

Another game you can play is put a collar and a lead on him. Take a treat and put it just a bit further than he can go to get it. Hold on to the lead and let him pull and pull. Say leave it. When he stops and looks at you. Mark it with a word such as good and give him a treat. Between sit and leave it you will start him looking to you for direction. Try these for 5 minutes at a time. Once he gets them, he will love learning. After he truly does these consistently, I will tell you a couple more.

Darlah, we've doing a lot of outdoor playing with Desi but have not really gotten into instruction, holding out for when the obedience classes begin. Now I see that time is a-wasting especially since we may have to wait a few weeks for the Scholars classes to begin. Desi, our school begins tomorrow! Having taught primary kids for many years, this should be a walk in the park..... oh, that's after his vaccination sets in! Thanks again Darlah.

Darlah, so true. That mind is constantly in motion.
