First Sunday of 2019

When you retire - is this retirement, you have to look at a newspaper or your computer at times to know what day it is. I have become like a dawg. Each day is another day without a designation. Maybe that is a good thing and the dawgs have it right all along.

Here is today's gallery.

This is Spirit, a Leti puppy and she was actually brushed this morning. I like her unbrushed.

Today, Rocco, Bissli, Chloe, Murphy and Dallas departed. Abigail and Bentley arrived. Abigail is Roxie's mom. Bentley is Abigail's son. Tomorrow more and then it gets quiet. Tuesday I am not going to groom and may find a couch. As I type I am feeling like I am truly getting sick. So, orange juice, cold meds at bedtime to chase it out of my system.

I am yawning. So short blog?

Dogs are starting tv time. You say what? They love tv time as the tv room (used to be a diningroom) has all sorts of blankets and spots to cuddle in. After a day of playing they love to chill. They always look forward to tv time. Maybe its the cuddles or us relaxing. Dogs like it when humans relax. It gives them permission to as well.

Spirit is lovely. Such a pretty little one.
You are so right, dawgs do love to chill when you do.. my Hav comes to find me if I go past chill time and she gives me that look that only Havanese give. I have to go be with her and get that relax feel when she lies on my lap, it wonderful.

Spirit is beautiful. You are right Darlah, I seldom know what day it is. When people say to me “have a good weekend” I think all the days feel like weekends now. Darlah, you are certainly not retired!!

Day? I forget what month it is!
Have enjoyed this warmer weather taking long walks throughout the town with Clarity and Farley.
Today we walked through my sisters forest. Farley loves the smells and experience. Clarity is a little nervous. Perhaps she smells the coyotes that are everywhere.

Funny to see the comments about retirement. Even though we are retired, and have been for 10 + years, we make a point of separating week days from weekends. We don't believe in all days being "weekend days". That way weekends become really special. That's just us, to each his own :-) Wonderful gallery as always. Take care of whatever you may have Darlah. It is a nasty one, we still have whatever it is we've had for two weeks now. Otherwise, life is good. My motto for 2019.

Love Spirit’s rust coloured face. She has grown into a beauty.
Seems Inula’s hair is growing back quickly.

In my retirement knowing if it’s Saturday or Sunday has become more important...those are now the days I don’t want to be in grocery stores, Costco, movie theatres...

Take care Darlah!

Darlah, you might want to google 'pineapple juice for colds'. It contains an enzyme called 'bromelain' which may be effective on colds and coughs. Yes, Anne, it is a nasty one! 😡

Weekends are even busier so I guess my weekends would have to be a day during the week. This week it is Tuesday and Friday. I am going out Friday and Tuesday I am refusing to groom. 1 day a week is a must.

Very busy times are coming this month. I must have lost my brain. Nathan said Leti is coming into heat. I said guess what I am digging out the diapers and she is sleeping with Jon. LOL I hope he is wrong.

No way around it, Cinnamon, Ella and Saffron are pregnant. Dennis said I guess I am not sleeping in my bed till March. I hope its not that wrong but could be.

Pineapple juice - thank you...

Gerda: Yeah I get that. Weekends in those places are the worse but at our local Loblaws it is the only time all registers are open.

Su: Yeah best time of the day! Angela: Thank you about Spirit. Christine: coyotes they can be dangerous. When I lived in California coyotes used to kill small dogs. maybe Clarity has a good nose. Enjoy the weather - some winter - rain and wheres the snow. My dogs want big powder dump so they can play in it.

We have the coywolves here ... lots of them. You can hear them at night and you know when a pack has made a kill! My sister has already found a fresh deer leg "lightly buried in her front garden and another in their woods (they're on 25 wooded acres). Dogs don't go outside by themselves here ... even in the fenced backyard ... and they stay on leash when we walk in the woods.
I hope you feel better soon, Darlah.

I would be afraid to walk the dogs even on a leash. In fact, I heard a wildlife expert talking about that on TV this morning and saying it is not safe. To the wild animal it is just dinner on a leash !!

I have coyotes in my area too and we think at least one coywolf since our neighbour who saw it on the street outside of our house said it was at least twice as big as his German Shepherd. I always carry pepper spray with me, and the dogs are always on leash.

There's usually 3 of us walking with two small dogs. We use short leashes and only walk in the woods during the day when the dogs are with us. We don't use the extension leashes. I haven't heard any reports of the wild animals attacking when humans are right there. There is also no shortage of deer or rabbits here for the, to eat.
