Happy Halloween
Lola wants to wish everyone a Happy Trick or Treating.
What a cutie!
It's a wet day so not sure how many will come out. The dogs got soaked for the 2nd day in a row.
Yesterday and today I tried human shampoo on Raven and Ella and I liked how their hair came out. I tried dog shampoo on mine and it came out a bit greasy and well dry too. Does that make sense? No dog shampoo for me again. I just wanted to try to see the results. The strange things I do as I am curious.

I have used human shampoo since Katie was a pup. My hairdresser developed his own shampoo and I used it forever then one day he said that he used it on his dog. I tried it and loved the result so now I use it on Poppy.
Interesting. What type of human shampoo would you suggest ?
I find switching human shampoos prevents buildup of the products they use in the shampoo, as evident when a good shampoo doesn't seem to work well anymore. Never thought of using it on dogs but then I still have a whole collection of doggie shampoo to use up and I switch them up.
I've been sending mine out for quick potty break then back in but when I put on their raincoats Leo wants to play, he doesn't mind the rain with it on. Pixie says oh it's wet and puddles, eew!
Just saw your galley, oh my, the pool cover, is it going to survive the winter? You said you were not happy with it. š§
You are funny with the shampoos, Darlah! Patches and Radar say, āwe donāt need to go potty everā. I donāt think they would go until the rain ends if I didnāt make them go out.
Angela, mine too but they can't hold it in foreverš, sometimes they skip a poopoo break but well, nature's calling wins.
Yes, it will survive fine. It is safe... just not tight as it's sized wrong so it has too much slack. You can walk on it but it dips. Want a new one but got quoted 3500. Have to do a hell of a lot of dogs to pay for that. Raised prices an extra $5 but still most goes to products. Maybe 2022? LOL Will explore next year to see if we can do better.
I was curious about the shampoo. On us, dog shampoo is a bust. On dogs - at least with John Frieda - it works well. I will let you know in a few days if it lasts.
Rusty hates the rain too. And when we try to put on his cost he hides under the table. Rusty has never barked so much as he did tonight with the trick or treating. I shut my lights at 8:30 because I couldn't take it. What will I do next year???
I would like to know more about shampoo. Darlah I love the shampoo you use on the dogs. If you change so will I.
My groomer makes her own organic shampoo. Its a bar of which shes given me some, but havent tried yet.The bar part doesnt appeal to me.
Since I changed to this groomer, about 4 yrs ago, I no longer am fighting w/ mats. Shes always used organic. I brush w/o frustration (as in yrs past) every other day and find Laci's hair easy to manage.
Im so grateful for that.
I think the shampoo makes a huge difference!
I am glad, Debi. The issue with shampoo and conditioner, much like our own hair, it needs to fit the needs of the type of hair and then you have to use a clarifier or mix it up. When you find something that works, it is a bonus. With the dog's hair, I have so many products and use one I know that will degrease if hair is on the oily side or enrich damaged hair and on and on. I hate the bar soaps as I find they don't distribute as well and get mushy. But that is just my experience. I actually have a bar of soap that is supposed to remove tear staining after daily use but I do not have the patience to do that daily. Anyone want it? LOL
