The Look and Cold

The melt is now ice and I find myself holding on to things to walk. I am so tired of ice and the dogs are too. But I find the back of the yard is pure snow. You can walk easily on it. they say more snow is coming tomorrow.

Here is the gallery today.

The dogs are really having fun and even the visitors are enjoying the wee pups.

Stay safe tomorrow, that is if the storm materializes. Our 110km winds didn't here. We are thankful. We had wind and the dogs did well. I am a firm believer in taking them out under the gazebo in a storm. You fear what you do not know and I love storms till they create damage. I think the dogs feed off of me and my enjoyment.

Agree with you 100% that our dogs need to be exposed to storms. I'm lucky - both Clarity and Farley will sit on a covered deck in the middle of a huge storm and just take it all in. Same for my previous two dogs.

Always be very careful walking in the winter conditions. I have three friends who have fallen walking dogs and broke wrists. Have also heard of others suffering injuries in winter condition falls.

Mine were all willing to go out into the storm but the winds were so strong even my Sheltie couldn't move forward. The wind kept blowing them all backwards so I had to go out and rescue them to get them back into the house. It was funny trying to watch them trying to walk. Four to six foot drifts all over the back yard, going over the top of the fence in some places. I've never seen drifts like this ! Now I'm worried about the spring thaw !
