Pet Expo: 2 Updates Today

Are you going?

My fave vendors are Mistaken's Boutique for the

Portable Pet Water Bottle <-- best as its a no spill one and filtered. I love it. They also have some cute bow ties for the boys.

Dearmint - I love them for hair elastics, the softest beds. Last year we bought this car seat. We also bought this donut bed that is incredibly soft. Anyone who stays here tries to get into this bed first. This year, I am going to buy a bunch of these

Then the next is Wheatley Wares and if you shop at his store, tell him I sent you as he knows what is good for havanese. I get my mixing bottles from him for shampoo and conditioner. I also get brushes, combs, scissors and much more. If you see anything on these sites you want them to bring to the show, let them know. They each bring a limited amount of things.

I get nothing for this. I am simply giving you a heads up of what I find to be good quality and useful.

We're actually picking up a CC dryer from Mike on Friday. Leo's coat is getting so long and thick, it's taking me at least an hour to blow dry him but it sure is gorgeous. Pixie's coat is coming in nice as well, it did take awhile for her unstressed hair to start growing. I also now need better brushes. šŸ›

Which CC dryer are you getting? Does it come with a nozzle? I want to see photos of the 2. :-) Are you bringing the dogs, Friday? We are going to be there when the doors open.

By the way, a forced air dryer - do you know how to use one? Do not ever go back and forth with one quickly. If you do, you get whip knots that are not fun to remove. If you have a table you do them on, consider getting a Hold a hose from them. You can just direct it and brush as it is drying. Always go in one direction. A force air dryer works fast but short side to side is best or use a hose holder and direct it to blow. Most dogs are afraid of a forced air dryers so you will have to get them used to it. I use mine after moms have pups to wash their back end and blow out the water. It works very fast. The best one is the CC as it is the quietest. Hope to see you at the show.

This ā€˜The Ollieā€™ update and pics of him are hilarious and made my whole day. I have never seen him trash water bowls like that let alone dance in water, in a kitchen or otherwise! Itā€™s like what happens at Camp Potechin stays at Camp Potechin! Sorry he was such a bum. He hasnā€™t moved since we got home. Snuggled into me all night. He clearly had a blast. Thank you so much again!!

I would go to the Pet Expo in a heartbeat if I could. Just looked at the links you posted and saved them all! Especially like the Mistakenā€™s Boutique. Iā€™ve been looking for cute ties for Cooper. Bow ties donā€™t show as much on him because of all his hair but ties work if theyā€™re long enough. Thanks for sharing!

We're going late fri afternoon, sorry going to miss you. Doggies not coming, I find it too crowded for them and I'm not too keen with all the massive dogs brought there. Lineups in am are long, maybe not at opening.
We researched extensively all the dryers, Tom said brushless is the way to go(that's the engineer side of him) and I wanted the quietest and I did check out how to use them. Expensive but with 2 I needed to cut down drying time so not to put them off bathing, etc. We are getting the Extreme warm air dryer, single motor, starts cool just warms up with the motor heat only, brushless. Next is to get a table, just using the top of the washing machine, and I have been thinking about holders too. House has not gotten any bigger sadly, just happier. Now competing for space with the horsey stuffšŸ˜‚and the gardening and the cookbooksšŸ¤£
P.S. Tom is now sick, I'm better but still not 100%. We've both had to cancel numerous appts, too contagious. He also has a bad tooth that flared up, extraction maybe.

Sorry we are going to miss you too. Have to visit this summer. Extreme warm hair is a good one. I tell you about use as the 1st time I used one years and years ago I created whip knots. It was funny but not.

Sorry to hear that Tom is sick. If it is what went through our house, thankfully it will pass, It sucks to be sick.

A table and a holder - you will be in love with the ease. Rens sometimes has closeouts or you see them online for cheap. Even if you get a mini one you can fold up and put away, it will help with the drying.

You are going to love the time you save drying. Then again come summer - I just let my own air dry and comb them out twice.

We actually get there at opening and out by noon. By noon its crowded. We buy our tix ahead of time though last year that didn't save us time.

What a bummer Iā€™m missing the expo! Bought a nice CC pin wood brush, eye envy kit and a great mist bottle for OMG strangling from Wheatley ware. Expensive stuff but totally worth it. Tenshi loves it when I use the wood pin brush as if itā€™s like a massage for her. And since I used the mist bottle, I feel like Iā€™m using less of the product so thereā€™s the saving. I bought a cute little harvest with angel wings for Tenshi last time from dear mint, they have cute things.

Sylvia:

We have the spray bottle too. Want to save product, only spray on comb or brush. i am not a fan of the wood brush. Do you find it goes through tangles?

April 18, 2019 | Registered CommenterDarlah

Darlah,
The wood pin doesnā€™t go through tangled knots. II still use a comb for the tangled then use the brush to fluff up the hair. So I do one day with comb and wood pin brush, then the next day only the wood brush. Tenshi likes the wood pin brush, she seems to really relax when I use the CC brush. So one day, I use it on my own hair and it feels like a little massage on my head when I brush my hair.

We got there at 3pm, heard it was crazy crowded early. Got my dryer, cc ice on ice( trying different detanglers), the detangling brush, another pin brush, Mike dropped in a small bottle of Clean Start(thanks). I mentioned you Darlah, he beamed and said so many nice things about you and Talemakers, as we all know.
Also picked up ToDogs Belly bibs, might help to minimize the stuff that clings to their tummies on walks. And of course treats, Pixie and Leo endorsedšŸ˜.

Wish we had seen you. Very nice of Mike! There is a new ice on ice. They don't have it in stock but I have ordered it.I love clean start. Every now and then you use it and it takes all the products out. It's wonderful!
