Cloudy Daze

Jeannie made it through surgery. Nathan is on his way home now. They will arrive in an hour. They ran a full panel on her, urine etc as requested as she is middle aged. She's now 7. She was deemed exceedingly healthy. Now to protect her for a few days till she is healed. Nathan said she is whimpering. They sent her home without pain meds, I am told. Risa never had any either when spayed nor did Adele etc. She just arrived home at 230pm.

I will take a photo of her haircut when she is feeling better. She looks a lot like Dallas and Raven now.

It is pouring rain. Dogs are saying - really? Nathan is napping with just Jeannie. The rest are in my office or tv room/kitchen.

Here is today's gallery. I feel like such a failure in getting galleries done but mother nature really has interfered with that to some degree.

Glad everything went well with Jeannie. Sending her big hugs xoxo

Why doesn't the set give the girls any pain killers for a couple of days aftervtgey are spayed? You said Jeannie is whimpering. I feel sad for her!

Aww, please give Jeannie our love. We hope she feels better soon! Dallas also wimpered when I brought her home from being spayed and I went back to get meds for her. Hugs to Jeannie!

Beautiful Jeannie. Big hugs. I too can't understand why they won't give these little ones something to relieve pain. We take something if we are in pain. Sweet dreams. Hoping tomorrow is a better day. Darlah you are the opposite of a failure at anything. Be kind to yourself. You have a lot on your plate.

Nathan said she was whimpering on the way home. It may have been the anaesthesia. She has not whimpered since she has been home. I was holding her in my arms for a couple of hours. She is enjoying a deep sleep on the floor. We will see how she is tonight and tomorrow. Risa by day 2 was thinking she could do anything and did not have meds. Remember Saffron had a c-section and no meds. The meds they gave her would have been harmful to the pups. I am not sure if Saffron was superdog but she never complained one iota and was excited to see her pups and fed them every chance she could. I think all dogs are different but to get pain meds for her if needed would be a long drive. I may actually have the ones they gave Saffron so I do have something. At this point, I am not sure she will need them. But we shall see what tomorrow brings. I have just set up an area on the bed dividing the rest of the dogs from her - like I do when I have moms about to deliver. Jeannie just wants to be with me. I did comb her a bit as they created mats on her. She was not happy so I stopped.

Any concerns that one of the pups might jump or fall into the pool?

April 23, 2019 | Unregistered CommenterMargaret

If they do, they learn. We are out with them always with adults and pups. Only concern is the water is cold. As soon as it is warm, we will take them swimming and teach them the way out. We have had the odd dog fall in running around a corner. It gives us the opportunity to show them how to get out. We never take chances with the dogs.

Hope Jeannie is feeling better to-day. My vet usually gives me enough pain meds for a couple of days to give as needed but I too have found sometimes by the second day they act like nothing happened and if anything you have to try to slow them down so they don't hurt themselves.

Jeannie is not a high energy dog so easy to do that. She loves being treated like a princess. The vets called today asking how she is. I said yesterday she had output of both kinds. She ate a full meal and this morning she had the same and ate a full meal and is drinking water. She is acting as if nothing happened to her yesterday. Risa was the same after hers. If she appeared to be in pain, I would have asked if I could have given her the pain pills I had for saffron but seems they are not required.

Our only issue is Kat who thinks she is in heat I suppose cause she smells different and she was in heat not long ago.
