Saturday in September
It is so interesting at how bonded some dogs become. This is Cinnamon and Ella snuggling.
We went to Pet Expo. Not much there but reptiles - Dear Mint that I love I stopped by to get my own and Spicy and Murphy some hair ties. We also stopped at Wheatley Wares that I love. Otherwise we could have skipped it. It made for a fast experience. Then up to Stouffville we went to get paint. Nathan decided he likes the door. I guess it is growing on him as he wants the same colour on the inside backdoor. The paint experts tell me I need to shellac it. So, I will. They told me my back door I have to sand. Lots of work. Glad for the tips for this newbie. As it is a metal door, I have to add some stuff into the paint to allow it to adhere properly. Still need to get shellac to do the front door and they say the door has to stay open for 2 hours.
The lady was talking directly to Nathan and he said she is the one that does this stuff. She said oh... and told me. I laughed. Nathan still needs to do those two rooms.
So, to shellac, this will be a trick. I also need to do this twice. Front and back door needs to be done. It means the dogs can't go in the hallway but instead in the family room, tv room and kitchen. It will work, I guess. Better than when it is cold. She said just sit outside for 2 hours. Yeah...
I brushed out all the dogs. I put pretty bows on the girls. Spicy was the worst. She had that tie out and her hair a mess as fast as I could blink an eye or so it felt. I wanted to take cute photos with bows in it but instead they said - fat chance.
Magic's human sister brought over a present for the pups to be - a unicorn bed. It's adorable. Thank you!
Murphy is back to the crate at the end. Imagine that...
Everyone has been playing. The boys are tackling each other and having such a splendid time. Do they know it is the weekend? Not that it matters here.
Brady, Murphy, Adele and River depart tomorrow. Velvet and Mabel arrive.
Shlomo was laying in the tv room couch with his legs up in the air sleeping. Talk about relaxed. I went out to the kitchen to get the camera and he rolled over. It drives me crazy missing moments. I keep thinking I need to carry the camera around with me but that sounds a tad ridiculous. I know somewhere someone does this - yahoo channel stars but really....
The weather is windy but nice. I ate fish and chips and feel sick. Nathan too. Too greasy, perhaps. I need a couch and dogs all over me. That's my weighted blanket.
Have a great weekend. Can it be swimming weather, please?

I sure hope that 'Tuesday' is found safe and returned to his family. I can not even imagine how they must feel.
Kathy:
Yes. I agree. It must be so very hard on them. I am pretty devastated myself losing Shoshi and then not knowing what is going on with Tuesday. Rather hard when a dog escapes your house. Not fun for anyone. I shouldn't say it but I wish she had told me the day he went missing.
The bows are so adorable!
Told you Murphy was a creature of habit. Not surprised she’s back in the end crate.
Love the pictures of Misty laying on top of one of the other dogs.
This is terrible for all involved but no one should give up hope. I know of a dog in Orillia who got lost while chasing a squirrel in a park near his home. Six weeks later he showed up at his house scratching the door to get in. He was thin but he was OK !!! He somehow knew his way home.
Maureen I really hope your are right. So sad to think of Tuesday missing.
Darlah I really like the colour of your walls and the inside of the door. Beautiful. So sweet to see Ella and Cinnamon. Great shot.
Has Tuesday’s family knocked and asked people to check garages etc?
Love Spicy’s new bow, so adorable! 💞🐶🥰
Yes she says so and I also have had people offer services to talk to them or track them to see where they are at a tune of 1 grand to 2500. No guarantees. People come out of the woodwork to make money off the loss. I consider it my dog as I bred him but going that route is up to her. I remain heartsick. The loss of Shoshi and then this so close... not something I will ever forget.
I wouldn’t rest until I found my dog. I would walk miles, go everywhere to find him. I feel your pain and I am so sorry I can’t help look for him. I’d do fliers and try parks and camps, schools and backs of eating places.
I am hopeful that he will turn up, I saw an article about a Havanese pup being found after two weeks in the snow, he was ok after some decent food, a grooming and the vet checking him. That was thanks to police and an observer seeing him in a school sports field in USA.
Su, the same. I did reach out to every vet, every rescue in the area, the microchip people etc. I also paid for a service. I cross posted everywhere on facebook, twitter etc, Short of dropping everything here and walking their neighbourhood, I did my best but I still think - what if. If she had told me the day of, I would have got a lot of people together to hit her entire neighbourhood. I think she needs to knock on her neighbours doors with her daughter but hopefully she did that the first day. I am overwhelmed with loss lately. I have 3 gates as a barrier to stop any dog from running out of my home. It may not look as pretty as some think but it is safe. We have had 1 dog escape that got hit by a car at their home and died. We have this dog escape from their home and then yet another few stories about escaping but getting the dog. To me, the time is to say, it is time to protect the dog than worry about how pretty your home is. I get that people do not think of this happening to them but it has and it does. Heck, we put steel barriers into the ground under the fence to eliminate anyone digging out and we have the safest environment as any dog that gets out from our backyard can only get to another fenced yard next door. We are always with them. I take this serious but if you don't experience it, you don't expect. That first dog that got killed running out of their home, my gates went up that day. Then I added another and yet another. Maybe OCD but safe.
Fencing and gates are really important. Who cares what it looks like as long as little ones are safe. If you could see my house I think you would laugh. There are barriers to all the doors and gates. I pick my dog up when answering the door just to sure. Havanese are fast, you only have to look at the run like heck games.
It’s not OCD, it’s common sense.
Meadow never gets outside without a leash and tags on. And never goes out the door without one of us with her....not even out to our fenced in yard because we are in a neighbourhood with foxes, racoons, skunks and coyotes (which I've thankfully never seen) and even owls living in close proximity. It would be devastatng to lose her. I've been shopping now for a GPS tracker for her...just in case....
In the meantime, I have been scouring kijii for dogs for sale looking for Tuesday....
Please don’t forget about training in addition to the physical barriers. One yell of stop to my two and they freeze in their tracks no matter how enticing the target is. 😥
After searching every site for the missing pup I found the address given for the missing pup states no pets!
really... please send me mail darlah@potechin.com
Glad Shlomo is so relaxed.
That is so funny that he is enjoying your furniture.
At home he likes being on the floor while we watch tv.
Yes, Shlomo loves to spread out in comfort, I have to laugh!
