Eating Outdoors
We had a day today. We ate outside as we had to redo our baseboards after years of dogs and puppy chews. The baseboard I stained - al bleepin 6 pieces - 10-12 feet was the wrong size. So off to home depot I went and then after it was installed it had to be stained so dogs outside. We played, hung out and ate outside. I do not take any chances with stain or paint. It is best when you do it when you have the dogs outside and you air out the home in all directions, which we did.
I combed out Jesse today and he was not happy with me but I was gentle and persevered.
Cinnamon is getting HUGE. It will be interesting to see how many she has this time. Both Leti and Raven are getting round but Cinnamon takes the cake. She was first to be bred so that is part of it.
Baseboards are done. I am no longer embarrased by them. TV room is done though I need a loveseat recliner - non powered leather. If you see one on sale, let me know. I need curtains. I have a sheet on one window.
Dennis is building a shelving unit so I can start organizing my puppy stuff. This will be a huge job.
Tomorrow's project is find cheap rubbermaid containers so I can put blankets, pads etc in them or baskets. I have not figured it out but like the idea of sealing them up. I also am building 2 shelves for my grooming room inside the closet. I need to organize all the shampoo and conditioner. It is semi organized now.
Dogs enjoyed outdoors as it only got up to 21c. Tomorrow 27c. Oh swimming day again! Thank you!! It means I may not get things done but oh well. I need time to figure out a system and how to organize everything. I so feel like quitting.
Everyone is combed out. Irrigation is shut off. Someone is telling me it is Fall but I do not want to hear it!
Off to tv room, watching tv smothered in dogs. Now that is the best!

Cooper is licking his chops π, nice gallery. Good job done with the baseboards. Love seeing pics of Jesse π€
So glad that you are taking some time for yourself in the pool. Nice that the weather is cooperating. It should not be too hard to put shelves in a closet. I just took some 1 x 2 s and nailed them on the sides and back of the closet. I was able to get shelves at Home Depot that fit in the closet. Just make sure the boards are far enough apart and the nails go into studs. (You can get away with a hand saw, level, tape-measure and an stud finder) If you are going to put in heavy stuff, run a 1 x 2 across the front of the shelf.

Yes, I used 1x2 and the closet is extra wide so I bought plywood and cut to size. I had 2 shelves to put in. I need to paint but not this year and yes all the shampoo and conditioner is weight bearing. It is done. Another project bites the dust. Tired of projects.
Next project is find containers that I can store blankets for the pups in, supplies etc so they are easy to find. I still have not figured out the sizing as cost is a bit daunting for some. Of course I would like them all to match. Shelf 7 feet by 7 feet is built and awaiting. The son says he wants two more for storing other things. This could be a winter project, I think. The puppy stuff needs to be organised before pups.
We also are figuring out reroofing the pool house. Framing is in good shape. Roof is not. We also have eavestroughs that need to be repaired due to vines and squirrels. Then I hibernate.
Dennis reminds me I need to take in the plants - big job, close some openings in garage, and fix the weatherstripping and on and on. When pups come, I stop. They and the dogs are my focus.
Have you thought of clear zipper type bags for the blankets, very little weight and you can see what's inside. Something like those storage bags for duvets for summer, some can be vacuumed to rid air to make more compact. Collapsible when not in use. I use them all the time.
Where do you get them? I am intrigued. Never used them.
Cdn tire is where I got some that can have the air sucked out. Probably Walmart, also got a plastic zipped bag after having my duvet drycleaned, got 2 small ones after buying new pillows, or anywhere where they carry storage solutions for clothes, specialty closet stores, I even saved the bags that contained horse winter blankets, not air vacuumable.
For those that you remove the air you just slip the clothes in, zip it closed, attach the vacuum hose to the seal outlet and suck the air out which collapses the bag and clothes, especially good for duvets and pillows, bulky air filled stuff.
I'd bring you one to try but we're here in Nova Scotia again, yup, drove out again, 19 hours one way, with doggies, 3rd time for them, it's like a 2nd home for them, visiting family.πΆπ©βπΎπ¦π
Mind you, sometimes the seal leaks with the large vacuumable bags.
I still prefer the large zippered plastic storage/travel bags.
Ikea do multi sized stackable see through storage boxes. Some even store under the bed and have wheels to make moving easier.
Iβve got all the teddies in one and blankets/ cushions in another.
Itβs worth a look.
I bought one package of the jumbo sized cubes. Will see how that goes. they are not cheap either. LOL
