Blustery, Cold and Well Quiet

Five more left to cancel and then we are done. What a March Break that wasn't - or how it will be remembered.I could cry. Oh well.

No one was groomed today except a full groom for 2 departing. With the blustery wind and the ramifications of March Break, I didn't have it in me. That's okay too. I lied, I brushed out Kat who saw the vet and the 2 girls in heat. Everyone else had the windswept look till tomorrow when I comb them out. They like a break too.

Here is the gallery.

We await test results tonight to see if Metacam is damaging his stomach lining or affecting his kidneys. Joy not. Something else... I could cry. Sorry not meaning to vent. Apologies.

The dogs had this love/hate with the wind. I stood out there and it is the type that goes right through you.

So much for spring - a tease mother nature is and always is during March.

Dennis got something he has been waiting for over a year and half for. I am happy for him. He has something fun in his life.  It arrived today and he says he is too tired to try it out. Really?

Off to feed the dogs. It's that time!

Don't cry Darlah! Meadow is coming for the day tomorrow!!

Oh Darlah,

This too shall pass. Snuggle up with the dogs tonight. And remember that Ozzie will go berserk, as usual, when he sees you next Friday. Fingers crossed for his daddy, Kat.

I sure do hope Kat is ok. These pups of ours bring us so very much joy, but can also make us worry like crazy and cry!!! So sorry for the way your March Break is going!

Well he kept his meds down - progress - meds that soothe his stomach. Not eating. He is sleeping a great deal but I call this progress.

We have now had everyone but one at the end of the month cancel. We will be capping December so if you are exchanging your airline tix for then, space is limited. Sorry.. heck I don't even know if we will be in a place financially to do boarding. So, we will see how it all unfolds. But I am proceeding with must get into another way of making money not reliant on people travelling. We are exploring. If we are able to create a new revenue stream, we will adhere to our obligations and not let anyone hang out to dry, so to speak. But we are exploring non refundable deposits or cancellation fees so we are never in this position again. We honestly can't afford to be. We do not blame ANYONE. It is life and how it unfolds. We have no retirement etc so this is all there is. This has given us pause and we hope in 2 weeks we can pay the mortgage but we shall see. Not trying to be a bummer but a reality of our life. Did call about the stimulus package that is being announced today but that will not be helping home business. Nice - not. It is why I must explore other revenue streams. This is our passion but sometimes passions don't pay the bills.

Darlah, we all know arthritis meds are hard on the body for both people and animals and it sounds like they aren't working very well for Kat. I strongly recommend that you try some of the natural arthritis and joint care products from petwellbeing.ca . I've used a number of their products for years and had some miraculous results. I've also had their products recommended and/or supported by mainstream vets, including specialists.
The vet on the site trained in Guelph and is considered brilliant by some who know her personally. For small dogs the bottle lasts a long time and they offer a money back guarantee so you have nothing to lose. There are lots of reviews for each product so you can read about other people's experiences. You can also ask questions and talk to the vet.
I've had more than one pet live years longer because of their products, so I'm a huge supporter ! It is worth trying. It is so hard to watch them suffer.

Maureen - thank you! We have tried everything under the sun, including their stuff for arthritis. In the summer when he swims daily, it becomes manageable. There are a variety of natural meds including some we have tried that we had to order from the vets. We went to Metacam as nothing was working.

People need to be mindful that impact sports can damage us and them.

He no longer has vaccinations nor have we ever done flea and tick meds, no steroids, no more deworming as they are proven to be a contributing factor to leaky gut. Metacam was working but it has to be short term. That too also increases the likelihood of leaky gut. I think we over medicate our dogs and create issues for them, I am afraid. Too many antibiotics is concerning as well. I am in no means a naturalist. I do believe in meds when necessary but we have to be mindful that our decisions can and do create issues.

I was just told zantac was pulled off of the market. When Kat had stress due to not being bred when gals were in heat, he took zantac. Stress too is a contributing factor.
