Quiet

It's very quiet here. Only Jesse, Murphy and Elvis here since this afternoon. Jesse and Murphy won't be doing till the first week in April when Momma gets back from Australia.

I got half the dogs combed out.

Here is the gallery.

Think it is time to watch movies. Play with dogs, learn something new. So much righteousness and doom and gloom with nothing else but in news, Facebook, twitter etc. Maybe its just my feeds that are dominantly that. There is no escaping. In some ways I think social media is toxic for mental health. I suggest everyone do the same and only connect and visit areas of upbeat nature. I am going to try to give balance here by talking dogs. Despite that we have lots to worry about, we must have balance to get us through. My limit was when someone attacked me for taking Kat to the vet then in a further message they were out walking their dogs and was chatting to their neighbour about the state of things. Huh Do as I say, not as I do. This experience sure brought the good out in some and the real nasties in others.

I really appreciate everyone caring about Kat. I keep hoping I wake up and not miss him so but that will take time. I spent the most time with him. Nathan asked how I was as he was worried about me. I said I miss him. He said - me too. He said he was your dog. He is right - other than swimming - a true passion they shared and can't be discounted, Kat was my dog. I miss his snuggling with me at night. I need to get past this - truly. I need to be positive in these crazy times.

Looking forward to puppies, fresh air, swimming pool, - even if that brings memories and maybe weeding. Last time I checked, garden shopping is not an essential so not sure how that will affect my garden pals. I feel for them. We will see how it all unfolds but we will have pups playing, enjoying and loving each other up. Now that's special no matter what the world is doing.

Dogs did have a run today. They LOVED, LOVED, Loved it and that means Dennis is starting to get back to normalcy. I did training with the pups. We played a hide and seek game. It felt good to play treats with the pups and a snuffle mat.

Tomorrow brings more grooming. Winston comes for a spruce up and play. We are looking forward to it!

I am slowly learning sublimation. I am converting my Epson. My goal is to put puppy names on bags to go home and if I can figure it out but I am keeping my mind busy. What are you doing positive during these isolation times?

I should organize my cabinets - nah. hahahahaha

Our grandson in North Carolina - its his bday tomorrow - mine is on the 24th - my fathers was the 25th. We were talking about what to do to celebrate. His idea is he should play video games and I can watch online and cheer him on. I can do that! My daughter, the groomer is still grooming at the vets and is busier than usual. She is thankful she has an income. She said even non tippers were tipping. That gives me hope that people care. They get dogs from cars and message people and use alcohol and disinfectant to clean money and wash hands. 99% of people pay only with cash around her. Gyms are still open. I was surprised. Store shelves are empty especially organic items or vegetarian foods. She eats clean. What was the most interesting thing she said was people are lined up to buy guns. She was serious. She ended the conversation saying - I think I am stuck in crazy land and can't figure out how to get out. She says I may be the only person without a gun before this finishes. Do I need a gun, mom? I said no. I do not live where she lives but I hope it was the right advice.

This daughter loves the dogs as much as we do. There are dog lovers and then there are dog lovers and the dogs will get her by. For that I am glad. I am ever so thankful for the dogs - our own, those we bred, visitors - all of it. They each bring something to your life that is unique. Without the dogs life would be empty.

Till tomorrow - sorry about the rambling. Time to groom some more.

Unbelievable what they said to you re Kat, for shame!
Yup,Tom read about the run on guns in the US 5 days ago.
I'm cleaning starting my spring cleaning on the stuff I hate to do, dusting!!!
Yard waste pickup is cancelled by the city, ok so maybe I'll dig it in the veg garden?
I bathed my 2 today, cleaned their noses, ears and trimmed their nails, but had done sanitation trim previous week. I had got Cowboy Magic horse spray and used that as a final finish on them, smells nice of lemongrass. And then they both went out for a wild tear in the backyard, jumping, tumbles, leaps, double backs, and then supper, yum! With a morsel of chicken paprikas because we share everything here ( and they won't let me forget).
See you Tuesday 😉🎂🍪

Criticizing others has become a common past time. It is disheartening to find out how unkind people can be.
Know that the pups you bring into the world, bring people like me great happiness. To have a soft coated sweet little dog cozying up with me on my lap fills the loneliness that I as a widow, experience especially during this time of social isolation. Helps bring balance when I need it the most. Hugs

Wow, I can’t believe someone would be so ignorant and heartless. Please pay that person no mind. You did the kindest thing for Kat.

I’m also sorry that I didn’t tip last time I got a grooming appointment - to be honest, I didn’t know it was customary! Next time!

I’m glad to hear you and the dogs are keeping well despite all that you’ve had to deal with lately. I am thinking of you and wishing you well. I’m truly sorry for your loss. I always understood that losing a dog was hard, but now that I have my own dog, I truly understand that it is akin to losing a family member. I’m so sorry Darlah and Nathan.

Bailey sends her love.

Sounds like a special day, Dorothy. Lemongrass - ah nice. Yes, the daughter lives in North Carolina. When she talked about it, it sounded like - well crazy. I actually caught myself saying does she really need a gun? She's probably right. She may be the only one without one. Imagine that mentality.

Marjolein: Oh hugs and thank you!

Pippa: Please - I didn't state it for that reason. It is hard... and he was quite the character in so many ways.

You did the hardest and best thing for Kat. Breaks my heart that people can be so cruel. I didn’t know about the “tipping” either - never realized. But of course now that I hear about it it makes perfect sense! Will fix that! It is a terrible time; social media is sometimes the worst and I’ve tried to reduce my interactions with it for my own sanity. Replaced that of course with binging true crime documentaries....so much more relaxing! Don’t know what I would do without Meadow - I am so thankful for her! I was thinking about the garden too - likely no plants for the planters this year - but if you need hostas I’ll be dividing soon....

People speak without thinking and that can be so cruel. Darlah in your heart you know that everything you did was with love and caring and Kat knew it. You were one. You are the best. You were absolutely right and did the right thing. We all know that and love you for all you do and how much you care about all the dogs! Yours! Ours and everyone too.

I saw Wonder on Netflix. It made me cry but was so good. I recommend it. About a young boy with a facial deformity that goes to school after being home schooled.

I too love my Rusty. He has helped me through some terrible times these days. stay safe and healthy.

Darlah, I got an email from Debbie Travis yesterday that made me laugh. 😆 in it she shares how she recently had a cocktail party 🎉 🍹 over the phone. Suggests using Skype and so on. She joked how she’s lost weight due to this isolation because she doesn’t bother to get up for breakfast so is down to 2 meals a day.

I’ll forward it to your email. (Maybe look in your junk file).

Besides getting a much needed laugh, she actually had some great ideas.

i am just now seeing your news about Kat. We are all very sorry for your loss. Someone said to us that getting a dog is signing up for heartbreak as they do not have a long life. I believe that is true but they bring so much laughter and happiness to our lives that I think it is all worth it. That photo of Kat diving into the pool is priceless, I know he added to your lives so much. We are hugging Shady and Nora a little bit tighter :( The dogs are truly enjoying this social isolation on another note.

Debi: That is Roxie. :-) The email I shared. It was priceless. Thank you!

Alene: Despite their short life, it is worth it. It is why I do it over and over again. Can't imagine being without them. Just hard as he was the king as we called him - the diver, swimmer that started it all with the havanese. At least we have a few that still swim with his high desire. Will miss him. I wonder if pool openings will be considered non essential. I may have to open it myself. LOL

Ronnie: Thank you for the movie suggestion. i will have to look for it. Yes, the dogs get us by. Without them, it would be even more difficult.

Michelle: It may be the only gardening that is allowed. LOL Imagine that - poor Christine may lose her mind but save so much money. :-) I missed Canada Blooms - sigh
