Warm Day Out

Here is today's small gallery. It was Dennis day off and well I stoppd in the grocery line for 3 hours to get eggs and a few other things we truly needed and they had no eggs. It was the longest line ever. I do not have 3 hours in a day to stand and look at my phone. LOL

The dogs love this weather. It's not hot. It's not cold. Birds and squirrels and yep rabbits are out so they can chase. All is well in their world.

I am not sure about you but I am getting so very little sleep these days. The dogs are sleeping more than me.

I bought a 50% off corned beef today. Still said good for 4 more days but its in my slow cooker cooking on low till tomorrow's lunch. So trying big meals that leftovers are good from. Turkeys were also on sale I guess due to Easter. I bought one and that is thawing out in the fridge. Unlike corned beef, the turkey can be leftovers for the dogs as well. So much cooking. Maybe we need to share recipes for the dogs and ourselves?

Leti - well she is a challenge to feed at times. She gets mighty picky during this stage so we feed her extra here and there.

3 hours? Oh my, I’m getting cranky if I have to wait 15 minutes. Another lesson (so darn many of them these days!) to count my blessings. Yes, things could be better, but they could also be much worse too. Try to go late in the day. I find that works really well.

You're not the only one getting little sleep, if it makes you feel any better. I'm not a good sleeper normally, worse now. So much to think about when I'm awake during the night....I'm trying real hard to practice good breathing and all otherwise my heart starts to flutter....just saying but nothing to worry about. I don't do meditation or yoga, not my thing. Those times are truly difficult, let's not pretend they're not. We'll get through it. Our pooches will make it all better, are making it all better. Hugs to all.

I love the picture of the six dogs lined up on the porch (bonus - Murphy's one of them!!)

Three hour line ??? How does that work ? Are you lined up outside in a huge line waiting to get in ?

April 6, 2020 | Unregistered CommenterMaureen

Three hours is crazy...I would not wait that long, not even 30 minutes.

I'm thinking Monday's might be a bad day to grocery shop, not stocked up from the weekends. I have not had issues shopping, hoping I didn't jinx myself. I have enough, always have, at home to improvise for meals. Just brought a frozen container of barley soup to my dad, 1 less meal for him to cook, he needs some variety.
I hate lineups for most things, I'd just turn around and go home.

Yes Murphy was right in the mix!

Anne: Hugs. By the time I get to sleep, it is time to get up and really need to stay in bed - just saying. I wish you could just turn off our brains. I feel so sleep deprived so I get how you are feeling.

Sue: Brewer's dad said when he passed Loblaws tonight they were around the building still. This is truly insane. It is not doable and I did come back quite cranky. I am trying to go every 2 weeks. Sometimes you just run out of things. I can't find eggs. Everyone must be using a ton of eggs. Wish I knew a farmer. Oh well.

There is a seniors hour at 7am but who knows if it is busy then and I am not yet a senior. I could send Nathan, I suppose but with his diabetes etc I figure he is a higher risk than me so I am the one having the fun.

On a nice note, my house smells wonderful with the smell of corned beef. Lunch tomorrow!

Maureen: Literally you stand outside the length of the superstore, down to the street and on to the sidewalk and up the street waiting your turn. Essentially you were around the entire building. It was truly a horrid experience. I am going to have to check out other stores. Michael mentioned T&T. Another mentioned Sues market but said they were too busy too. I guess its Easter shopping and Passover? I did see a guy with 2 full legs of lamb that took up most of his cart. When I say legs - I mean the whole leg.

Dorothy: We did not have lineups quite like this and from what people were saying, this has been going on all week. I need to find another store and see if they too are doing lineups. Michael told me T&T was not busy and everything in stock. Will have to check it out the next time I need something.

Easter is April 12, this coming Sunday, eggs needed for dyeing.
Passover starts April 8, eggs needed for seder meals too.
I think that's why this shortage.
I'm losing track of days, weekends and holidays, everyday seems the same. But I'm trying to keep a routine to breakup the week and weekends.

Dorothy: I am trying to do something productive other than grooming and dogs daily to stimulate the mind. I am learning. There are so many free courses online and I also once upon a time bought some udemy courses for older versions of Photoshop and never got around to them when they were 9 dollars a class on special. Think they are up to 17 on special but still a deal. I got a notice from one of the courses that it has been updated - all affinity software and free so I jumped on it. I have also been trying to perfect my masking skills with hair etc. I also took a course - free online on how to socialize pups during covid. It was all common sense stuff and more geared to those that just acquired a puppy but learning.

I am also trying to troubleshoot why I have lines on my HP printer despite cleaning the printheads, shaking the cartridges etc. Hoping with perseverance it corrects. Text is fine - printouts on sticker paper not so much. It's something I use a great deal as I try to stickerize things to get organized. Yes - doing that too. LOL

Someone told me to go to Shoppers. They may have eggs or did. We tend not to hoard here. For instance we use wipes here and when I was in Loblaws and saw only 1 package, Nathan said leave it for the babies. So, we did similar with eggs. We bought one but they are long gone. We took old towels, cut them into small hand towels, placed them in a container with disinfectant. We are trying to be creative. I am also trying to get whelping items all in one spot so when we move a couch out, all supplies are readily available.

Checked out my pool house and everything is in its place and DRY. Thank you metal roof. Each year we had to throw things out due to the raccoon damage. Thankful for small things.

Maybe the sticker paper might be too thick, if you just changed it recently to a different type, the head doesn't fly high enough above the paper.(I consulted Tom)

same paper - same settings = it is all so baffling so will do another print head cleaning today. What a waste of ink but what is eh alternative - buy another?

Try lifting up lightly the carriage, in case it was bent down slightly when inserting the cartridge.

Check if a piece of lint debris is stuck in a jet hole.

Wow, is that Misty on the front cover? Wow has she grown! And her colour has changed a lot!

April 7, 2020 | Unregistered CommenterPippa & Bailey

That was Tempest not Misty - Tempest has gone light and I assume will end up being similar to Leti.

April 8, 2020 | Registered CommenterDarlah

Wow, that's amazing. Tempest has really changed a lot! She is a beautiful little girl though. <3

I think Bailey looks just like Leti when Leti was younger. Though i'm not sure if Bailey will lighten up like Leti. I think she will keep her apricot colour. I parted her fur down to her skin, and it is that consistent apricot colour, except for the white on her forehead and paws.

Pippa: Then she shall remain. :-) Leti goes lighter and darker and now Spirit has grey in her coat too.
