Cold May
It is downright chilly out today. My day has been mighty busy so I am late blogging and short.
I am not sure what everyone is doing on Mother's day but it will certainly be different, I imagine. Our son Jon bought me orchids. He placed it at the door. No hugs - I get it - no closeness - I get it. Maybe we will order in food for tomorrow to miss the craziness of Mother's Day ordering. We shall see.
What do I yearn for? Sleeping in but not doable as Dennis does night shift. A swim - not warm enough. Plants - well no one lives locally anymore but 2. I think I will take a nap. We shall see. Happy Mother's day Sunday to those that have human kids and dog kids. Good food - laughter - planting if you are Christine or maybe Anne and let's toast to celebrating when this is all over. Good health to all....
The dogs - the pups - they get us by.

The only planting I will do in a few weeks will be herbs for the Trug. Our pooches got me beautiful pansies planters for Mothers Day...they know how much I love pansies :-) They are in the Trug for now protected from the night cold, although pansies are hardy. Gardening won't be the same this year for many. Nothing will be the same but we will all manage somehow. I wish all the mothers, human and canine, out there a Happy Mothers Day!
Anne: Wise with this weather. I will still do tomatoes, cukes, salad, herbs, peppers, strawberries as we eat them and it makes sense. I will be too busy to truly garden this year but these things will be free of pesticides. Other than one basket hanging, I doubt I will do anything else. Did you know you can candied the pansies or put them in your salad as they are edible. Pansies are hardy but this cold would kill them without protection so wise.
