Down For the Count

Went for my vaccine today and I am down for the count. I guess my immune system is working as I have a massive headache, pain and warmth at site and down my arm, up my arm to my neck. I can't stay focused. Nathan just pain at site.

So, dogs are enjoying. I am not so much. I may actually crawl into bed. This will pass.

Hope you feel better soon, and yes, bed rest is the best.

Feel better soon! You must have done Meadow's groom before you got the shot because she looks beautiful! You always do the best job on her! I was down for about 3 days with pain in the arm from my shot, but no other effects....so I was lucky.

Yes, good to rest and take a day or two off. Reactions are a sign that the vaccine is working so good protection for you! Take care!

Hope you feel better! We were told to put an ice pack on the arm, keep it moving and to stay hydrated- hope the negative side effects subside soon!

I am hopefully on my last two 500 tylenols. Most symptoms are gone. I had shivers, swollen lymph nodes, pain down to my finger tips and up to my neck. Cold extremities. Feet remained cold and so did hands no matter what I did including hot rice bags. I had massive and I mean massive cramps. I also had a massive headache where I could not stay focused. Doing blogs was interesting. Grooming really interesting. My arm still hurts significantly. The pain from my arm across my shoulder and across my back still there but feet are warm, hands are warm and headache gone. No cramps all day. I call that progress. Lymph nodes still swollen but not that they hurt. It is doubtful I will be able to sleep on that side tonight but think I am out the other side. Nathan had soreness the next day at the injection site. He had nothing else. Me, I started feeling it as it went in. Tomorrow is a huge grooming day so I best be well. Thank you all and Meadow's mom, :-)

Minor soreness in arm today - thankfully as I have a full day of groom. Neck and shoulder pain just aggravating now. I am normal. LOL

Wow, you had the same side effects as me. I got the AstraZeneca shot in afternoon, then got severe chills in evening and horrible joint pain everywhere during the night and following day. Migraines and just feeling very fatigued all next day, I just stayed in bed, couldn't do a thing. Following day lymph node inflammation started, axiliary and sternal, which lasted for 4 days. But then I'm a huge responder with every vaccination.
I'm due for my 2nd shot, not looking forward to it. Maybe I shouldn't ride after getting it. Maybe in your case the grooming initiates the worse side effects.
Glad you're feeling better.

Dorothy: I got pfizer. What I got told is the reaction means it is working. I would get your 2nd as it is available now and get it over with. I also get sick from flu shots - any vaccine. Was talking to Ronnie's daughter who also got sick like us. You are indeed down with it. Though I did groom 2 dogs feeling like death then crawled into bed. When I was typing the blog out and then 5 minutes later I looked at my screen and realized I hadn't typed but a line. Rather funny on hindsight.
