Attempts

Here is the gallery.

I think Jamie despises me now. I say that as I took him in the pool and he was not happy. He ended up scratching my arm up a bit as he wasn't crazy about the experience. I was a very gentle soul and we only did this for a couple of minutes when I realized this was not fun for him. Mom says he likes the lake but a pool is different - not gradual. After he got out, he rubbed himself all over the plants. He will need a bath. His packmate Charlotte had just had a brushout so as I was without Nathan, I decided to keep her dry. You have to comb out completely after a pool swim.

I went in the pool hoping it would help after a freezing session. None of it helped. Oh well.

Then there was Koda who went in without being asked and decided the pool was her playground. We will have to get her in more times.

The dogs are enjoying each other. I have to tell Dennis to at least click each dog. Most times he only catches the moment when he has a camera on hand. We try.

Nathan is bringing Katie back home. I must finish blogs so I can put my leg up.

Just know the dogs are having fun.

So sorry Jamie scratched you, I thought he would love the pool.

I know. He was not happy with me. I was gentle but he was frantic and sometimes this happens. Today he is back to allowing me to hug him. Yesterday wherever I went, he went somewhere else far from me. A pool is different than a lake as one is gradual and one is not. A pool scares him even with support. At least we know. I feel badly he had this experience with me.

Do you have pool water problems or are your stairs stained? We’ve never seen that with our pool - 32 years now.

They are stained from a cleaner I used to clean them. Think it is permanent unless I want new stairs and I don't want that till I need a new liner. LOL

Oh, what a shame! Think I mentioned we got a new liner last fall. 3rd one, so seems they last about 10 years. Couldn’t believe how much it had faded in places when we emptied the pool. We clean the stairs with Mr Clean erasers, but guess it won’t remove staining from product.

Our liner actually lasted many more years than 10 and had no colour left and it was depleting the water as it had needle sized holes in it. I am not sure why we got an extra 8 years over yours. It's strange but each pool has issues with its own elements making them troublesome in a variety of ways. I do know when they emptied our pool we had virtually no damage behind the liner which is good. I am not worried about the staining. It is still usable even if its not so attractive. As you probably know the price for stairs is over a grand for new, then add water and then liner costs. Next time we need a liner, which won't be for years I may consider grey stairs. :-) We just had to do our eaves troughs and still have to replace flooring and walls in the basement due to flooding caused by eaves troughs so new stairs is not on the list. I need to win a lottery.
