Messy and Busy

Here is the gallery.

It's a messy day today. No one got brushed or washed except dogs going home today. It has been exceedingly busy. Today we went to Ruth's funeral. I broke out in hives from so much stress but I got through. So did Nathan that has been on a journey of stress. Dogs get us by literally and smiling faces at the door to drop off and pick up.

Tenshi, above rolled all through the grass. Let's say she couldn't help herself.

We have puppies - 3 of them having the time of their life. No one plays quite like puppies.

Harlow decided the top perch was hers in the tv room since the day she started visiting. Well, Pepper said it's mine. They had a staring match. Nothing physical but Pepper decided the other bed on the other side was more desirable till Nathan sits down and Coco the maltese and Pepper will wrap themselves around his head as if they are a neck pillow. Got to get a photo of it. Harlow will smile. She does smile.

Vivi has picked me as her person. She just gets so excited when I come back into a room. She follows me out to my office and there she will remain as happy as can be.

Bria has departed. Dennis looked at her and said is that Bria as she had a shorter hairdo. It was funny. Lulu is going home now.

Get this, Coco, Leo, Charlie and Teddy have been playing for the last hour. They keep hunting in the brush. Nothing there that I can see but they think so. Dennis is out there with them trying to figure it out. LOL

Darlah and Nathan, be careful, all this stress these pass few weeks, watch out for shingles. You all need rest. Tom was dealing with a company that was making his life miserable, finally quit dealing with them, was feeling awful for weeks, pain in his side, checked saw a tiny white hive and red rash, yup, shingles. Too late to get an antiviral(weekend) and suffered horribly for a week, actually slept nonstop for days. Rash for months, bruises still present. This all started in Dec.

Tenshi is lovely. If I'm remembering correctly, she is a one of Sadie's sisters from the same litter. Hard to believe that they are going to be 7 years old near the end of this month Take care of yourselves. There's nothing good about dealing with a lot of stress.

Oh poor Tom.... that is a long period of time too. Hugs to him!

I have an issue with psoriasis and eczema if under acute stress. I also get hives. Mine only presents itself when stress is great. Benedryl helped. Thankfully not shingles. I am not sleeping well. I seem to have got into a cycle that I am trying to break.

The stress was not just from Ruth dying but trying to get her pain managed and well a relative that called 7 or 8 times a day sometimes screaming and screaming at Nathan. It was awful. Family is fighting over who is getting the money. It's not about the money, folks. She had a will. No Katie in will. Please people, if you are setting up your will your dogs count too. Of course if they come back to us, we will do whatever we can above and beyond to take care of them. It's not about the money to us - seriously! That's just who we are. I told Nathan we need to no longer take calls or have anything to do with this. Our job is done. We had medical power of attorney and we did everything Ruth outlined in her paperwork. Not everyone followed through but we did our best to give Ruth what she desired. Not easy. This has been a 2 year journey. We didn't get anything out of this - just doing a good deed for Ruth. We did ask the power of attorney for a reimbursement for Katie, shots, checkup etc. We were told no. So, this is on us. She has not seen a vet in years. What we got as a response if we can't handle it then they can come get the dog. Wow after all that we did to help the financial guy including doing the funeral arrangements etc. I am upset with his response. My grooming tip money will go for Katie's care. She deserves it. We should have thought of this when Ruth first got sick. People - your dogs as they get older and we get older may need medical care. Katie may be perfectly healthy and live for many more years. She loves her walks. She's an amazing dog. But our mistake for not asking Ruth when she was 1st sick - has Katie been to a vet? Is she up to date on her shots? It turns out she hasn't seen a vet in years. How do we know? The vet she did take her to is no longer a part of that practice as of 3 years ago. Sorry - just venting... what a terrible weight on our heart and soul this journey has been but Ruth is no longer in pain. Her last week was difficult with pain management. Sorry for venting.

Patt: I would have to look it up but I believe so.

Darlah and Nathan, I am so absolutely in shock about what the both of you have been thru, I am speechless. And poor Katie, at least she has had you to take of her all these months, years.Do allow me to help with her expenses, at least some, we'll discuss later.

No - I do not want help. My message was clearly only about - get your affairs in order and include your dogs. Crap happens when you do not. This is on us for not addressing it with Ruth when she first got ill. We live and learn. I do not want to be a part of the family squabbles about who should get what. That should be just between them. But gives you pause when before she died and the same day buried, that was the concern.
