Snow Again?

Doesn't look like it here but this was at 7am. By 8am we had a dusting.

Amazing what an hour brings.

The dogs were running. I am grooming in a few minutes but knew blogs would be late so wanted to post something here. Sparky has managed to lose weight (a request from owners due to this long winter) and he has. That is why they go home and sleep and sleep. Oh they do here but I suspect the activity level is greater here. We are crazy don't you know and love movement.

Cooper and Levon are getting along famously. Yes, Cooper is enjoying one of the boy dawgs vs. the gals.

When it was rainy they didn't want to run. It's as if they said cold, snow - wow!

Plus Coops stays cleaner without mud. hahahahaha Cali, I give up on.

Off to groom...

She LIES: Groom Come On

I groomed all the dogs - Nathan helped me. Then I took photos and groomed Cooper AGAIN. See who really played their hearts out this morning. Their hair is no longer perfectly brushed. Cooper wins the prize though. :-)

Yes, Cooper was groomed so he could go home BEFORE these photos.

Well, some dawgs just know how to have fun is all I can say!

Murphy and Moseby depart tonight. Tonight that leaves us with Sparky. Quiet times....

Very Busy What's New

Here are some photos taken. Dennis was on camera and he is learning. :-)

Cali chasing Mabel, Mabel chasing Cali. This is a nonstop event!

Sparky Snowbank roll!

The Ty

There is a Cooper under there honest!

Sparky, Zoe and DJ

I am behind on the other blogs so that's it for tonight. The dogs got wet, had fun and well I did a LOT of grooming and that's why the blogs are short. :-)

Gallery

Here's the gallery - not all photos but really not enough time. Sorry - I am trying but the time with the dogs is important despite they have Dennis and Nathan. :-) Hope you understand.

I just finished the grooming - laundry still have 2 loads and I still have the videos and the pup galleries to do. It's already after 5... so hope the photos will do.

I did have fun outdoors with the dogs today twice. Feel guilty about cutting the blogs short.

PS: Despite how it sounds the dogs are having a great time. Me too when I can catch my breath. Who said we should have 3 blogs and 3 litters. hahahaha

More Active Day

Kona's a ladies man today.

Kona is chasing Jeannie. Will he catch her?

Kona continues his flirting with Roxie.

Looks like Kona caught Jeannie!

Then he tries his charms with Abigail. It's a riot. He is certainly not a 1 woman guy. hehehe

I also managed to catch Shoshi and Abigail playing full out! For an old gal Shoshi sure plays up a storm. See what you look forward to?

I have a slew of these two playing their hearts out.

Logan joined in with Abigail and Shoshi and they rather enjoyed that he did.

I managed to catch Jeannie doing the shake!

Brewer, Adele and Cali were non-stop playing. Everyone played and played today. Now they are all in the tv room laying all over Nathan while he reads and they sleep. Hmm just checked on Nathan and he too is sleeping.

It's a very busy day getting Max stuff ready so he can depart so forgive me for the short update. No time for a gallery.

Do They Play

I put up a bunch of Kona, Ty and DJ up as these were being silly monkeys and having so much fun that we had to click. Hope you enjoy. Oh yeah the rest had fun this morning too but they were silly fun. Pepper and Scruffy came later as I heard they played and had snowballs. They could have came with them and I would have done them. DJ so loves the Pepper but she is saying speak to the paw in a funny way as if she is leading him around with her nose. So funny and he doesn't mind - just play with me! Kona says I will play with you.

Ty has departed but the birthday kids had extra snacks and truly had a grand time today!

Kona and DJ played their bodies out this morning and every now and then Ty would join in too.

Look at the play with me paws!

As you can see DJ and Kona played and played then Ty joined in.

Yes, the brothers do play with each other and it is delightful to see. I think the longer Kona comes to visit the more he sees opprtunities. He used to just be smitten with the gals but DJ is a guy and he's wow fun too.

Have to love their play today.

Ty just ran and ran.. such a burst of energy.

Tomorrow I hope to capture Pepper and Scruffy. These photos above was from this morning and then I had blogs to do so hoping to click so never got around to clicking this afternoon and look I am still doing the blog. Got a video and Puppy checklist to finish - oh boy. Well at least everyone got brushed out. :-)

Panda now has her own blog. Spice has hers back up getting updated. Logan was chasing the rabbit - oh boy. Think the rabbit will move on?

Just when we thought it was over off they went running. Then I brushed a great deal this afternoon. Things are normal. Still congested if you can believe. Cold air is not my friend but I have my energy back. I feel very lucky and you can quote me - I will get a flu shot next year. :-)

Leti had class last night and that smartie pants knew where Nathan was keeping the treats.

She has all large dogs in her class and she is doing rather well. It will be good for her to have the exposure for the show.

Next week Adele has Tricks class with a few other Talemaker Havanese and then Leti has her class right after so Thursdays will be long nights as I will be taking care of the dog not in the class and watching. Never did a back to back class. Will I survive? Will Nathan survive?

Scruffy and Pepper are getting a bath tomorrow and going to a Super Bowl Party put on by their humans. Snack time for dawgies too?

Smiles

No matter how bad I feel Ms. Risa always does things like this to make me smile.

And another duo that brings a smile to my face is Coco and Doozie who is departing any moment. They make me smile - and thank you for that!

Reward time: Kona for leaping from the back of the couch to the recliner without missing a beat. Never saw a dog so agile and precise.

All I can do. Am out of energy. Still sick, I am afraid.

Clicked a Few

Nathan clicked a few photos but each time I look at any of these photos it is painful for me as it means I need to brush, brush. I brush visitors but not my own as I run out of steam. Many are overdue for baths now too so hoping by weeks end I can get them done. Here I had hoped Nathan would. I watch tv, I groom. I rest.

Kona thinks the smell of Miss Abifgail is special.

Wherever she goes he goes. ;-)

Despite it being icy the dogs seem to find their fun.

Coco gets combed out daily. When it is tv time she finds my lap. Wish I could groom standing up.

The running still occurs off and on all day.

Roxie is often found grooming Doozie. It's an interesting sight. Maybe Roxie thinks she is helping me.

And Logan - he sees me and gives me massive body hugs. He rather misses me.

I make sure I spend time with all but its better when you are feeling better. So here is to a better day tomorrow and a magic wand of grooming as its not going to be Nathan that surprises me. <sigh>

Yikes Brrrrrrrr

I was getting dressed as Shoshi wanted to go out. She looked - she smelt and I gathered felt that brisk air and said NO WAY.

Levon and Trigger departed. Levon was missing hanging out with Scruffy though his pal Brewer didn't come today. Logan and Panda didn't either as the car wouldn't start. Zoe did come but only for a quick bath. She really wanted to play - next time.

Nathan and Dennis is still sick. What that means is I am doing a lot as I don't believe the dogs should have a sedate day. They just do better when they are active, inside or out. This is highly unusual weather. It's not safe for them outside for any length of time. The adults go in and out quickly. Some seem to have more endurance than others much like humans, I suppose. So its a no photo day.

Although Nathan and Dennis can lay around with the dogs they are not up to play though Dennis did try with the pups. So, I play. I groom. I clean and then do it again. :-) Everyone has been groomed except Pepper and Scruffy but they get a grooming just before they go home or it will look like I don't do a thing.

Tomorrow Coco and Doozie arrive. I am excited. But can this cold go away? There is no way Coco will think this cold is doable. :-) Smart gal!

Please - please your dogs CAN get frost-bitten - no lie. Please watch your dogs closely. If they are lifting their paws pick them up and bring them inside. No walks - just out and in. This is simply way too cold.

Stay warm and think it could be worse. Cooper's parents I heard have 50cm of snow along with the cold. So why am I complaining? :-)

Cute Video and the Dawgs

Lori sent this to us:

Nonno loves his little Peperina! :)

Nonna is grandpa in Italian in case you don't know. I just love how her parents love the dogs!

It's a tad too cold outside. Usually Cali and Leti are running their fool heads off but today even Risa was picking her paws up. We still have ice under the show and now the deep freeze. :-(

The adults were trying to run.

Ty gave it a good try.

Then he said to Adele let's head inside. We can drag this toy or that to those humans and they will exercise their arms and shh if we don't come back for the toys they will exercise their legs but its our secret - okay?

Still some forgot ot was that cold at least temporarily.

Tiger decided inside was best - brrrr....

Cha Cha was all over Goldie and well Goldie didn't mind. Cha Cha will miss her after she departs.

Brewer still manages to get the dogs to chase him even if inside. Maybe its due to the reality that we encourage it so they can enjoy vs. just chillin!

The kitchen and the hallways was mighty attractive especially as the day went on and the temps dropped.

Bentley departs tomorrow if the planes are flying. I suspect he will be playing as pups do right till he departs. It means a bath just before and pray he stays neat. yeah... right!

We have had a great time today and ooops its 7pm so one or two more outdoors and more play inside. Baths tomorrow and it will soon become quiet.

Happy New Year

Brr it is cold out there but the dogs still managed to play. Thanks goes to Cooper's parents for sending us a great photo to ring in the New Year!

We have a roast cooking. Still haven't decided what to watch tonight but want to say Happy New Year to all of you.

We are keeping this short as I want to enjoy family, pups and all that comes with that. I have many more photos but I will hopefully add the best tomorrow.

Both the Spice and Abigail blog is updated.

I am going to try exercise despite the toe tomorrow. Today I will feast. hehe

I feel blessed to have all of you in my life. If it wasn't for the pups I wouldn't have met such amazing people. I am glad that everyone now has heat and lets hope 2014 brings grand things.

My goal this year is to replace my iphone (borrowing one as mine was stolen), exercise my fool head off, fix my tablet, get a flash for the camera and grab as many hugs as I can. Come spring we will have pups outside, sanding and staining doors and hopefully celebrating the saving of many trees in our yard and not concentrate on the ones we lost.

Great family, great friends and puppy people, dogs that make me strive to be better - I toast you tonight as you are in your own right very special to us! May 2014 be a better year for all!

Short Update Today

It's a short update today as I have Scruffy and Pepper to bathe. They came neatly brushed and well they don't look like that now.

I can see Scruffy saying I feel a bath is coming.

The dogs played inside and outside today. It's down to very cold again after the melt so they were driving me crazy trying to gnaw on the broken branches. Each time we pick them up a few more drop off. :-(

This is Fiona's sister Coco. She doesn't let anyone get her meal and she thinks Zack, her brother shoots the moon.

Ty is such a great guy and he finds the puppies fascinating.

Even Shoshi gets into the play with the younger set. Good one, Shoshi.

Everyone is truly having a great time but its still icy out there even more so that its melted and froze over. <sigh> Can we get snow for traction again? Off to do baths!

More Updates Day

We may never see Bailey again. He's having way too much fun staying warm and cuddling with special relatives.

Griffin just had a tooth pulled as they didn't do it at neutering. It just decided - no - I am not going to come out. It doesn't happen too often but it can.

See the next entry for more:

Snow and Toe

We are having a snowstorm enough to cover the ice and give the dogs traction and boy are they excited. They can move those bodies of theirs again. We still have extras due to the hydro issue some are dealing with.

Okay, how did I break the toe, rip the nail out of the toe completely and slice the next toe? I wish I could say it was the ice storm but no it was something idiotic. I was in the grooming room in a bin to get some toys the pups have not seen. I was looking at the toys in my hands thinking about how excited they would be to see these and I literally walked into the gate. I fell bruising my whole right forearm. It's a beautiful purple. I guess my toes separated and I have no clue how the nail came out but it was that which sliced the next toe.  Kat barked at me. I was on the ground crying. Nathan went - Kat stop barking from the other room not coming to check - never knowing what he was barking about. I guess he was thinking it was due to the heat. If the toe is not taped to the next one it literally hangs down. Sleeping and dogs and Nathan bumping my feet is my biggest issue. Good news. I am still sick with this flu but I can breathe. That is progress. Still grooming, playing, feeding, laundry and even cooking. If it wasn't for Tylenol 3s I think I would be crying. But we have heat so I need to stop griping.

Rocky and Magic depart tonight. We will miss them. Magic's home now has hydro - yooo hoo! That's it... more tomorrow.

It's Getting Close

Cooper and his mom and dad want to wish you all a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year.

We are still frozen solid. Our driveway is treacherous so anyone who comes call and we will come out. We do not want you walking our driveway. We will try to break it up later today. No salt/pet friendly stuff or sand is available at any locally opened stores - go figure. They say it won't be above freezing till after New Years.

We have extras as people couldn't find hotels that took dogs despite what the Toronto Star says. All they talk about is the GTA and Port Hope not our area - go figure. Port Hope has gas leaks and everyone is without hydro. Our area still has many without hydro and they say its not going to be completed per our Hydro's Twitter account anytime soon. They had originally thought this morning. Hope no broken pipes. That would be insult to injury. We still have power and we feel blessed. More trees have split and fallen. Our yard thus far stays intact - thank you cedars for sheltering our yard. They aren't only for privacy but they also create a micro-climate.

Enough weather. The dogs are all playing and having a grand time. No photos yet. Nathan has already done poo patrol and he says its interesting. His hands hurt but its a must. The dogs are walking careful. Today we try to breakup the driveway and at least the deck. We will see if that is even possible as we have a new sheet of ice over everything.

I had a turkey neck and placed it in 2 cups of broth in the slow cooker and cooked it for 8 hours. Then I put it in the dehydrator for the day and it just fell apart. Dogs thought they died and went to heaven. So don't throw that neck out. It's good nutrients in it and its safe after slow cooking and dehydrating it. Plus the chicken broth is great for soup. No dehydrator - lowest setting in oven and cook.

Today Rain and What Not

Well, I have a head cold that is now in my chest and I pulled something in my back so everytime I cough or sneeze which is frequent - well its not pretty. I am not sleeping so well as I am having a tough time breathing. I may lay down with the dogs in a bit with lots of pillows behind me. We will have some holiday photos and video on the Spice blog in a bit. Dogs are coming in drenched except Cooper. He's managed to only get that top wet and still look pretty. I think the closer to the ground in this freezing rain you are the worse it can be. Cali is the worst of everyone. She is a total wet ball and Leti is the same but nothing like Cali.

Bailey arrived for a visit just for a couple of hours. Trigger and Levon arrived and so did Rocky and Goldie. I do not have many of the just arrived but other than Bailey who departs soon I will by tomorrow. I just hope they aren't all sopping wet photos cause that is what is happening now. It is freezing rain at the moment and only Leti, Adele and Cali have no brains and would stay out in it. Last venture in Nathan had rain dripping all over everywhere. Then on Sunday we empty out again depending on weather, I suppose and everyone will enjoy Christmas. I am going to make a turkey probably tomorrow if I am up to it. Not today. The dogs will get a treat as its a big one so lots of leftovers, I hope.

The dogs are having fun inside too and I did groom everyone though its a joke with Cali and Leti and I mean a real joke. So, we are taking a bit of a break on outside adventures as I can only dry them so much and at this moment with the rain even Cooper would be a mess but I suspect he will be by days end unless we get snow.

King Coops I said Coops look at me and he gave me this look. Got to love his expressions!

I thinned out Shoshi's coat - can you tell? Everyone is bathed - what a joke - now why did I do this with rain coming?

Early morning - see his scarf made it to morning and not any longer. Nathan was seen having it draped around his neck.

They still use under the deck for come get me games.

Poor Roxie saying, Spice please... Yes gals play games like this when in heat.

Fiona was playing stick my head in the snow games.

Here is the end result of Princess Fiona. She rolled and rolled. I think I have about 40 photos of her in every position.

Much like this one.

We are enjoying life. Check out Abigail's blog for a video later and Spice's blog. As I type Nathan is clicking away in the kitchen as they continue to play.

Brr Cold Feet and All

The dogs were really cold this morning especially Miss Cali and Miss Leti. They simply do not have the body fat to generate enough warmth and those feet - ouch lifting but Cali has no brains. She lifts her feet and doesn't want to come in. Miss Let comes running in.

Here are a few photos from today. These are early morning photos so no photos of Ringo yet who arrived this afternoon. He is having a blast!

I found the snake that still has some squeaker life in it and they were back having fun with it. It's important to rotate your toys - well THEIR toys so there is renewed excitement and they had it for Mr. snake again. The fun was had with tugging it this way or that and squeaking it to death.

Inside play is more comfortable but we still manage to go out just for shorter spurts.

Tonight a few get baths for the show plus Muntuno. It is going to be a busy weekend but a fun one for me as I am with the dogs. hehehehe But I will miss the show too. I just may find things I need for teh dogs so better that I don't go.

Oh yeah and I get to pack everything for the shows too and who gets blamed when something is missing? hahahaha

Fun Packed Day

WE put the Miss Daisy up here as she gets a bath and departs tomorrow. We will miss her especially her spunk. As you will see in this gallery, she was mounting Miss Roxie for all she was worth. Nathan said you can't put up THAT. I said dear it's not sexual. It's just Daisy doing the mating dance and saying I am boss. I have to laugh. Miss Roxie only let her do it for so long and then said no, I think I have had enough.

On Thursday we get to see Muntuno for his bath before the show and we get to see Ringo. How fun is that?

Today we had a jam packed day of running and fun. It was certainly cold out there but brrr we warmed up. heh

Trigger, Keeper and Chewie News

Hi Darlah and Nathan,

Darlah, I mentioned the boys had been sleeping closer since coming back - that actually means Levon is using Trigger as a pillow. lol. I guess little brothers aren't so bad after all. ;)

Shannon

Keeper is now on Instagram. :-)

My heart just about melted as I watched Keeper and Lu race and chase in the back yard.  It was exactly a dream come true of a perfect homecoming!

We'll see how the night progresses. Just couldn't resist sending this video along!  Keeper goes from bed to bed in true goldilocks style trying out all of Lucy's toys and Lucy hasn't put down the Cookie Monster!

So so happy!

-Stephanie

-------------------

This is how chewie acts very time we drive to pick Samantha up at school

--------------

Michelle:

I think Chewie adores Stephanie. They have really grown up with each other. It is so nice to see how they have developed such a great relationship. He is surely attached to her!
