Stages

Videos coming shortly.

As bold as she was and she was downright bold, this gal appears to be in a fear stage. They all go through it and then get past it. It is part of development. What you can't do is nuture or coddle the fear. We know how to do this and the puppy becomes more confident by building coping skills. They must build coping skills.

We are not sure what triggered it but we are experienced enough to know this is just the stage she is in and you handle it appropriately. So, if she ignores you or isolates herself, just realize it is simply a stage that they will all go through. None of the pups are timid. It is amazing how many assume without realizing the process that they all must go through. She may be past it by the visit and someone else may be in it or not. Right now it is only her.

What you see at this stage is not who they will be. By the next visit, you get a clearer picture.

For now, she hangs out in beds and in tunnels or my lap but she is acting strange when Nathan has commotion around him.

We will see what Saturday brings with new people, lots of commotion and well a new room to play in.

As we have visitors, we are unable to have the pups in the kitchen. People and new

Updates

Here is the gallery.

Bowels are solidifying after deworming. But I never saw them go so much. LOL Thankfully, that has slowed down. Makes me not want to deworm but why should you have the fun when we can? LOL

This sleeping stuff is getting better. They are sleeping most of the night with the odd one getting up. This has changed for the positive.

Videos coming soon.

New Year's Day and Pups Update

It's a day. The pups are starting to sleep through the night - hooray. You can see that is true by the lack of during the night videos.

The pups also had their first deworming. We do this as a preventative. This way you do not have to when they go home. The deworming Panacur can create watery stools so cleanup is ongoing - bums and pads. This too shall pass. It is why we do it instead of you doing it when they go home. We do this a few times.

What a way to start the New Y

Almost 2023

Here is the gallery.

The pups were better last night but not there yet. We are taking them out 3 times a day vs. 2 and they are staying out till they fall asleep, which is about an hour - sometimes a bit less and sometimes a bit more. We are hoping this helps.

You will see in the videos that the odd pup was awake here and there.

Play Play and More Play

When the pups come out, they play their hearts out. The play can be rowdy but never aggressive. It is joyful play. It is exciting to watch no matter how many times you participate or watch.

Soon they will have baths, visits and vet check with microchips, shots etc.

Check out the videos. More are coming.

Lazing With the Dogs

Here is the gallery.

The pups survived another night if you call it surviving. In one of the videos you will hear them howling - I think 3am or 5am? I am not sure I am surviving but they will get into a routine and little by little sleep more at night. I need to sleep more too.

I am sitting here typing and yawning.

They are eating more food as they do not have moms at night. This will start them on the road of weaning. I was going to try them on softened kibble but to be honest, I am too exhausted so maybe tomorrow.

Pups are lasting longer playing than last week. Though they do sleep significant amount, they need that to translate into night sleep.

They will get there before they depart. I am not sure I will. LOL

Upstairs Without Moms

Here is the gallery of upstairs and when they got downstairs.

How did they do?

They were up a lot last night - me too as I was capturing them and well Sage was beside herself and to a lesser degree Misty. Misty kept up to date by watching the ipad between napping. Sage just kept making noise at the door to get to them. I did not get any sleep. Neither did Sage. Nathan was in the guestroom with boarders and boys as we have gals in heat. So, he will say he didn't sleep but he got way more than I. I hope tonight is better. Coffee is my friend and I have groomings to do as we have dogs departing.

Videos are already up showing various times, the mom moments before coming downstairs and the downstairs. I will update Misty's area with the upstaors play after it happens. As I type, both moms are sleeping and so are the pups. I should be but I need to start grooming.

Togetherness

Here is the gallery of all 7.

The pups are adorable. I use a handheld vacuum every day around and inside their pen. No issues. They watch with interest but that is it. They wait till I stop and come  in and say hello. It is the perfect award for not being afraid. They are smart. They know the routine.

They had a ton of fun upstairs and will soon be going up again. Dennis will be setting up the upstairs xpen

What could that mean?
