Upstairs With Nathan

I was busy grooming. So Nathan had the pups upstairs. It is usually me. He took some videos. Check them out. The puppy attack was - well I was told pretty spectacular. They ruined Willow and Spirits hair. Sky was sitting in the corner tired of them trying to feed from them. The pups hadn't gone up for their morning play as I was dematting a dog. That meant they were full of beans.

It wasn't as bad as it sounds but my grooming of Willow and Spirit went out the door. Had to do them again.

Pups are waiting to go upstairs - their last romp of the night. That's the key. A huge play session before bed gives you a sound sleeper all night.

Nine Then 8

Pups were exceptionally full of beans today. I am not sure why. Dennis is sleeping so its up to me to get them upstairs. So I am hurrying with the blogs. Not sure how I will get their pen done, laundry, dishes etc but we will go with the flow. Puppies must play so they sleep all night. 

That is the key. They expel energy and then they sleep.

I am not sure when Dennis will wake up. With pups going home he sleeps later vs. earlier. So, I will get them to chase me. LOL

Play Bows and All

Even from a young age they learn the play bow. What is it? It is an invitation to play!

Today they played with Willow, Stone and a few others including Ali who was jumping off and on the bed. 

It is so interesting to see them at this stage playing their hearts out. They run, they play, they sleep and start again.

Play and Play Tunnel Fun

Puppies are now down to 9 and still not missing a beat. They start noticing it after a few depart. It's an interesting phenomena.

But they are happy in a well loved home! So, it all works out. We miss them all.

It's been a Fun but Busy Day

From 10 to 9. So it begins. No one is departing now till Monday. I will have time to get things ready. I have a very heavy weekend schedule. Today we had 3 puppy potential visit and the pups got more socialization. 

Today one of the pups bit Raven - chewing on her and she was having none of it. They are starting to understand that other than their siblings no one else likes getting chewed on. They are learning!

Silly Fun

Both litters had crazy fun upstairs. They will head upstairs again soon.

Today we added a bit of ground up steak to their food for a treat. They ate it head in bowl and never depart till it was gone. I guess they liked it.

The pups had a blast with Ali and simply with playing upstairs. They still take long naps after a play session. That is the key. You play, they sleep and then they do it again!

Fun Times

The puppies had a blast. They seem to run like little banshees. It is delightful to watch.

I bought a new toy for the puppies yesterday at Loblaws and they love it. The issue is so do the older dogs. LOL

Here is my nag - sorry. We need to hear from everyone. Time is a factor. I need 3 of your top choices and a date for pickup please. People who got their choices in right away are waiting for the rest. So, please.

They are so filled with fun and I think today exceptionally so. 

I was washing Murphy and until I finished, I was hearing running back and forth, Nathan no longer has to get them to play the chase game. Stormy and Raven do that with them. It's a riot. You will see it in the videos.

Nathan and I was discussing and we kept getting confused on who was who and that embarrases us so when you send in your 3 choices in the order desired, please include your photo. Yes, I am serious. LOL

8 Weeks Old

These pups will be ready to go home the 22nd.

Pups are running like banshees. They are now eating 10 -1/4c of food 3 times a day. Of course some eat more than others. 

They were all over me today. I was so thrilled but I had the treat jacket on. LOL Was it me or teh jacket? I put it away and they were still all over me so I think I am still wanted. LOL

The pups are truly looking forward to seeing you tomorrow. They had baths teh day before the vets. Moms had baths today.

Watching the Ipad

Looks like we have some active interest in the ipad playing a documentary with turtles. Not all dogs watch tv or an ipad but some do. I find it fascinating when they do.

Survived the Vets

They were quiet to and fro. Nathan walked each around all over as the vets was quiet. With the ice storm everyone cancelled except when we arrived emergencies came in. So we waited.

We had them play before we departed. We went extra early as the vets requested but we had to wait till our pipes were fixed. but instead we left the plumber witg Dennis and took off or we would still be just leaving the vets now. It's been a day of a flooded basement, no water and treacherous driving but its over and we have water and we made the trip to the vets in one piece though I did shut my eyes many times as I was so frightened. But Nathan is an excellent driver. We were cut off by 4 snow plows - no lie. I got their license plate. There were 4 serious accidents. This made me even more impressed at how good of a driver Nathan is. I couldn't have done this and I consider myself a great driver. They would have been prying my hands off the steering wheel.

We had to go as we couldn't get another appointment for 2 weeks. That's too late so we took the trek and glad we did as its over.

No cries to and back. No poos or wet spots. They were golden. No one got sick. A few didn't even care about the microchip but some did. Pay attention to the gallery so you can see who. I did not take videos at the vets. All 10 healthy.

They played upstairs (no photos) after we arrived home. Each used a pad and ate and ate as they had missed lunch. 

If I sound incoherent - I am. I need a drink. LOL and usually I joke about such stuff but tonight I need to de-stress. It's been a heck of a day and I still have blogs to do.

8 Week Baths Before Vets

The crew was wonderful. It still took me 2.5 hours but they are done.

We head off to the vet at 130 unless weather is bad and then we will head out earlier. Blogs will be small except for the Raven and Stormy blog. We probably won't be home till 530-6pm and then when we walk through the door we have much to do then I will blog.

Tonight I have to get the 2 crates ready and change of bedding if needed. We also have to remove our back seat. I sit in the back with them on the seat and I have the crates in front of me so I can see them. 

It's a long day. Then we have the 8 week visit on Saturday. 

Before we head out to the vets, we will have a long play session. I find they are always better travelling after play.

The Fun of It All

This white chin boy is the real character of the crew. He was like that from birth. He was the one doing tumblesaults and he still does them. He is so agile and fun.

Tomorrow the 10 will get baths. No individual photos but I hope to get some group shots. then on Wednesday they head to the vets.

There is so much to do to get ready for that. We will need 2 crates, toys, chew items. It is always an experience, Hopefully this new vet allows us to take photos of them. We shall see. We are still going to Northumberland but we are seeing a vet that we haven't gone to but has been trained by our late vet. We shall see how it all works out. So much to do before they depart. 

When these depart, the next litters will already be ready to go upstairs but will be delayed for a bit. We are figuring it out.

We Are Able

Size doesn't matter with this crew. I can do anything, don't you know it. Watching the videos, they can. The brown and white boy took a tumble and didn't even let it bother him. He was back doing what he was attempting without missing a beat.

Got to love this group of pups. They make you smile and smile!

Playing Their Hearts Out

We are trying. Glad we got a gallery done. I am sure you are too. 

Pups are a riot. They run like banshees faster than ever - sometimes tripping over their feet from going too fast. 

You have to love such fun!

I truly can't believe how fast they run. Nathan tuckers them out before he brings them down after a play session by getting them to chase him. 

Dennis said yesterday, it is interesting. These pups meshed together exceedingly well despite the size and they have not had a fear period. Even if one falls asleep in the dark in a bathroom upstairs away from the siblings there is no fussing. 

The two littlest gals from Raven's has also learned productive ways to say enough to the larger set without going Cujo on them. They are learning great ways on how to cope and effectively communicate. 

I think the key has been placing them together earlier vs later.

Sisters

This crew of 10 is such a delightful amount of fun!

This is a no gallery day but we hope to change that tomorrow.

They have played upstairs and in the hall for 2 sessions and soon they will be playing upstairs again.

The sisters really play quite a bit together. Raven has really started playing with them as they are almost totally weaned. 

I can't believe when these pups are ready to come home, the 3 crew will be ready to be meshed together. 

Three weeks and these pups will be ready to go home and I will truly miss them!
