Such Fun

They really show their delight with play. You can see it in their expressions. You can see it in their bodies. If you observe, they show such delight in play!

Here is the gallery of the 10 pups.

When the pups jump all over you. They kiss and roll all over you. Silly play - the best. When did we lose that as adults? Thankfully the pups help you find that silliness!

Oh Such Fun

They love the chase game. They love you to love them up. You sit down and they get ever excited to spend time with you. It's a wonderful feeling.

To see the fun, watch the videos.

Raven and the Pups

Raven was playing silly with her boy. I think I got some on video and in the gallery.

Here is the gallery.

The crew of 10 got a new xpen setup today. It's good that we had to do this as it allows them to deal with pads being in different spots.

The pups are now eating unsoftened food. They just started today. We will see how that goes.

They have had some kangaroo chewing sticks and are in love with them.

They are about to go back upstairs with Dennis. Me, I may watch a tv program just to relax.

Oh The Play

This is white chin. He just holds his own and sometimes wins. Size doesn't matter.

I was watching the 2 girls as someone said one is more quiet and today I didn't see it in the least. They were sewing their oats. Both were tag teaming a sibling then a Stormy pup. They were quite playful today. No gnawing on my feet either. I gave them teething rings and chew sticks and they chewed on that.

Be sure to check out the lively play in the videos.

I then put each in a visitors arms and they gave kisses. How nice is that?

In 2 weeks they will change yet again. They are learning coping skills and bite inhibition.

I can't wait to show them off at the 8 week visit! No deliveries that day either. LOL

6 Week Visit

Oh boy what a day. It started with Ella, not having a set up for her to the 6 week visit and a dematting. If I sounded distracted, I was. I was taking care of the 2 girls in heat, the 2 new moms and taking photos and videos.

I was excited to see everyone but I apologize if I didn't talk to each one of you. As you saw, I kept disappearing to do all the things on my plate but what I saw, you had a lot of fun.

The videos are now up here.  They are not edited. I didn't even get to watch them as I have a ton of blogs to do plus moms etc.

Thank you truly to the Maisels for such wonderful toys for the pups and chocolate. It is truly appreciated.

Be sure to check out Stormy's blog for the gallery that I am about to create.

Thank you everyone for coming!

Baths Today Visit Tomorrow

This is the littlest gal. She has a full white collar. This is the easy way to tell her and her sister apart as they look alike.

Everyone was good for the bath. They sat there without complaint. They didn't play but they were good.

This is the 2nd littlest. She has a splash of brown on her collar. When dry she loos so much like her sister. They will both be on teh small side.

This is white chin boy. He is a character from the moment he was born. He was doing flips from the start. I think he is meant to be agile. He tried to drink the water streaming down when I was rinsing him off. That's a first.

This is the brown and white boy. His pigment is coming in more and more. He was the 1st to enjoy my snuggles. He holds his own with the bigger crew in a positive way.

This is the sable girl. tail up, here I am. What is this wet stuff? oh blowing in my face but you rub me down - oh.

Here is the wet and dry photo gallery.

I will try to get some videos up. I do not have enough hours in the day.

I never thought I would get them done but I did.

Nathan did nails. I did pads and clipped around the bum to avoid stickages.

I want to thank Nathan for putting up with the - it's time for the wet photos, time for the dry and time to clip nails process.

Tomorrow

We have baths tomorrow. We won't be doing individual photos but instead we or shall I say I will be doing  group photos. It is impossible with a new litter to do individual shots as Dennis will be sleeping during the day. Then we have the puppy visit on Saturday. Oh boy... We also have Ella and her litter so we shall see how it all unfolds. We will make it work.

Here is the gallery of all 10.

Pups had a ton of fun upstairs. I also had them playing downstairs. Then Cinnamon decided it was time.

PS: if you are watching the videos, you will see the group of 10 is getting interesting and a ton of fun.

Fending Off the Big Guys

Yes, we are still small but mighty. We will probably be like our mom but our growth curve is different than Stormy's crew. We are slow and steady and we will most likely grow later. They will most likely stop growing earlier.

When there is a size difference you have to worry about bullies. Yes, sometimes one or more are sewing their oats so to speak. It's not because they have a mean streak in them. Most times it's just that they are learning their position in the pack.

But in this gang they seem to not have that issue. Oh yes occasionally one gets too rough and the recipient turns away and they go okay. This is how they learn and so far they seem to be listening when one says I had enough. There is one boy in the Stormy crew that is not a submissive but even he respects the boundaries. This set of 10 is a good crew. I can only hope the next we mesh are the same.

Check out the gallery of all 10.

Friday they get their first bath. Oh boy. We need Cinnamon to cooperate.

Back Leg Standing

This is the littlest gal. She has a sibling that looks almost like her except her sister has a splash of colour in her collar on the back of her neck. She is also small but a tad bigger than this one. These pups are great at standing on their back legs already. It reminds me of the Saffron puppies.

Raven is smart. When all the pups want to descend on her like vultures, she lays down and covers her tummy. Stormy just growls and they don't listen.

Be sure to watch the videos.

The pups have had a few play sessions upstairs. This week they get a bath and get to see their humans.

Short Blog

Now that the pups have the hang of this and so do the moms, they do go to their own moms but if they think there is more food elsewhere, they go running. LOL

The videos are getting uploaded. You can check them out here.

First Upstairs

The pups had their 1st upstairs upstairs. See the one video we took. Sorry trying to finish blogs and Dennis is upstairs with them. He wants to play with them vs taking videos. I get that.

Here is the upstairs video.

How did they do? A couple fussed slightly from the Ravem crew and the rest didn't blink. The 2 that fussed a tiny bit got over it. So, it was a success.

Here is the gallery of upstairs.

The pups are now coming out to play 2-3 times a day. These sessions are usually about anywhere from 20 minutes to 45 minutes. It all depend on when they tucker out.

Firsts Last Night

Last night all 10 pups spent the night upstairs without their moms. You can see how they did in the videos.

But I will tell you how the process went.

Last night we got the upstairs ready for them. That included creating comfie spots for them to settle in. We also had a heat lamp to make sure the area stayed warm. We may have to add a heater (anyone know which are good) when we need the heat lamp for the puppies that are new.

Dennis created hidden little spots so they could cuddle in and go to sleep.

They had food and water. Moms spent the first half hour with them. The moms came to bed with us and we watched them on the ipad. I took a number of videos and sometimes I just watched. They moved around a bit but all and all they slept.

When Nathan and the girls went to get them this morning they were sleeping.

So a success? YES!

No Gallery Day

Time is running out. This blog will be short. Videos will be uploaded.

All pups are over 2lbs now including the smallest.

Tonight they will be heading upstairs without their moms.

We will let you know how it goes tomorrow.

4 Weeks 4 Days Old

We spend a lot of time taking 1 puppy at a time out to condition them. Of course each time we clean the pen they are all out together playing. You can see it on some of the videos.

The 10 pups have truly meshed quite well.

Be sure to check out the videos.

By tomorrow night we hope to have them upstairs without their moms with us watching them via our ipads across from the hall. They are so close that we can hear them as well. This is the start of the process we do to get them used to being without mom so when they go to you the transition is not so difficult. Moms usually fret the 1st night and come morning are running to the xpen where they are excited to see them. The next night is easier till they know that they are safe and they get to see them in the morning. I have had moms watching the ipad and listening to them and some not looking at it at all. Needless to say I do not get much sleep but seeing you see video from the wee hours, am I ever sleeping? LOL

Here is the gallery.

Pups play out in the hall twice a day now.  I believe it is one of the easiest 2 crews to mesh. Soon we will set upstairs and they will get new places to get exposed to. They do really well playing together in and out of the pen.

Here is the gallery of hall play with all 10.

Interesting

Hey what is that human doing? Cutting your nails?

As you probably know each line has different growth curves. Some grow fast and slow down stopping earlier in adulthood and some are steady and grow later.

Here is the gallery of all 10 in the hall.

The Stormy pups have stopped fast growth significantly. This is normal. Looking back at Abigail lines, they did the same. The largest Raven gal is only 4 ounces different than the smallest Stormy puppy. Adele, therefore Abigail lines are fast out of the gate and then start to slow in their growth. I am glad I keep all my charts to compare.

So what appeared to be destined to be large puppies will not be so. They are on track, it seems. Good to know. The lone gal that is the smallest in the Raven crew will remain small. How do I know? Her bone structure dictates so. She is a petite gal. She is a mighty one. LOL

Here is the gallery of the Raven Crew getting their nails cut.

Pups are faring well with the Stormy pups. We added chicken pieces to their softened kibble. More and more of their teeth are coming in.  They are drinking water and they have no issue feeding from either mom. I try to make sure they feed from the right mom. Raven is always observing and making sure everyone is okay. I noticed that she is always aware. Even when out of the pen she sits on the couch staring at them. I wish I could read her mind.

Be sure to watch the videos.

4 Weeks 2 Days Old

The Raven crew had their first taste of softened kibble. Some said okay. Some said this tastes different. They are all starting to drink from the water bowl. They can't go upstairs till they do.

Here is their gallery.

Dennis cleans the pens first thing in the morning before I get up. I clean them at night. Tomorrow morning before I get up, Dennis is going to take the middle section away so they are all in one pen. We will see how that goes. The goal is to get them to go upstairs without the moms at night (10pm to 7am) so we have to see how they do.

They can stay segregated at first or integrate. We won't know which till that middle barrier comes down. It also means we need to get the right pups on the right mom for feeding.

That also means when the pen gets cleaned all 10 will be out running around. We do all this for a reason and we do it in stages. We do not believe in flooding the pups. We want to create a transition so they build their coping skills. This will bode them well throughout their lives.

Changes are coming... great changes to help them to eventually make their forever journey.

Be sure to check out the videos.

4 Weeks 1 Day Old

I decided that it was time to take all 10 pups out at once today together. I was alone with all 10.

Here is the gallery.

How did they do? Actually no one mauled each other. Sometimes that happens when you merge 2 litters especially with the smallest one.

Be sure to check out the videos.

They played with each other. The Raven pups tuckered out first but they were also awake when I took them out and I had to wake up the Stormy pups. So all and all they did well with each other. Some actually full out engaged with a member of the other litter. Bravo guys!!

Here is the 4 weeks 1 day old gallery.

We are getting older. How did that happen?

4 Weeks Old Today

Sorry - I know my limitations. I want to go to bed before 11pm so this is a no gallery day.

Pups are doing well. Dennis had them out playing. Me - I am grooming.

1 puppy has a tooth poking through.

Be sure to watch the videos.

3 Weeks 6 Days Old

The pups had another play session in the hall and they had an experience with Mr. Elephant. You will see how they did with the talking elephant in the video. Check out the videos here.

Pups are doing well. They have found a great deal of interest in these small toys I bought today.

Here is the gallery.

Now if I can just keep moms from eating their food and if all were drinking water, we could get them upstairs at night without moms next week. We shall see how that goes. Dennis will then get to sleep in his bed for a week and get rejuvenated.

We are on track for all development stages if not ahead of schedule.

Plus the pups were so excited to see me when I came in. If that doesn't make your heart skip a beat...
