Cool But Dry

We are doing another short one today. After Nathan's nap, he is going to go to Shopper's to get me a muscle relaxant and some Pepcid AC. I have to get Jax done as soon as Nathan is back but he is such a good boy that with a back brace on, I should be fine. We will soon find out.

The dogs especially Chloe and Harlow are highly keen with any movement in the back yard.

Hunting

Dennis tells me that the dogs (not just these 2) were hunting a baby mouse. He says the mouse just stands there and looks at them. I guess it is cold so its looking for a home or the mom is doing something or other but Dennis is feeling sorry about it. I do not want mice in the house. 

I am doing a very short blog. We have departures and dogs coming. I had to cancel some groomings as when I did 1 today, my back started screaming. So today and tomorrow I will rest it. Really wish I didn't do this to myself.

Dancing Play

Dennis and I transplanted plants to bring indoors. Plus I heaved haul this and that and brought this plant in and that. I am not only exhausted, I am really sore. Plus we had groomings and dogs departing. Ms Charlotte above departs tomorrow and so does our resident Jamie. 

Nathan is out and about at a meeting tomorrow till 123opm. It will be a miracle if I am walking tomorrow so was hoping he was here for departures tomorrow. I am really in that much pain and it hasn't been long since I did all this work. It really was way too much. I best find my back brace.  As Nathan doesn't do anything physical these days, it lays on Dennis and I and today I felt my age. In my mind I am much younger than I am till I have days like this.

Dogs had fun despite all this - perhaps laughing at me while we worked. They seemed mighty gleeful. They danced indoors, played and ran outdoors. 

Tomorrow is a new day. Let's hope it is a better less strenuous one and my body has recovered.

2 Updates Today

Dogs continue to have fun. We have a full house this weekend. I have 1 more grooming to do. This is Woodruff that came for an overnight stay. He is having a complete blast. All the dogs are.

Mr. Rocco has had his groom awaiting pickup tonight.

Meadow and Abby depart early tomorrow. So do a many others.

Molly got to go home today and her mom is doing well. Hooray!

Me, I best get my act together if I want some downtime. LOL

Happy 4th

Dear Nathan and Darlah,

Well, I have no idea where the time has gone, but somehow my precious baby girl is 4 years old today!

I am so grateful to have Bailey in my life. She is a loving old soul with the fiery energy of a young puppy! On one hand I am shocked that she is already four years old and somehow it also feels like I've had her forever. Not a day goes by without me being grateful and happier for having her in my family.

I am working a night shift tonight on her official birthday but Bailey is going to get lots of loving throughout the month. She will get lots of treats, new Bullymake toys, as well as a Scent Den outing. Can't wait to celebrate this gorgeous, smart, sweet, funny, adorable girl in style!

Thank you Nathan, Darlah, Dennis, Leti, and Stone for giving me the gift of my darling Bailey and for everything you do to help enrich her life. It means a lot to have the support of all of you. Happy 4th birthday Bailey, Benji, Benny, Abby, Coco, and Tempie!

New Visitors and Fun

Cassie jumped on to the cover 1st time and into Nathan's chair. She was so gleeful and happy. Meadow and Abby out of their minds happy to be here. This makes us feel so good though Cassie has a halter that I bet I can't figure out. 

Rocco was delighted to see Cassie. Benji was highly happy too. 

I laughed at Harlow when Cassie took her seat and she said - gal that is my spot. Harlow knows what she wants.

I am on the hunt for the thicker sweatpants for Dennis. His has holes and with the cold coming.... Also have to find size 13 socks so if you know someplace (haven't found them online yet), let me know. Mark's workhouse used to have them but they only had up to size 12.

Molly and Rocco goes home tomorrow - Logan and Panda too. Woodruff has a sleepover for 1 night. It's a fun weekend. Leaves are still on trees. Plants are still outdoors. Much to do before snow. 

The dogs are LOVING the pool cover. So much fun indeed!

Cover is On

Here is the gallery.

It is officially fall at this house. It is cool and the pool cover is on. It is a safety cover that in spring 4 guys stand on to scrub it and take it off. So, it is safe for the dogs and they love the trampoline effect that it has. As this is Yoshi's 1st experience. She watched the others then went crazy running on it. All the dogs enjoyed it. 

We also have the water purifier people hered now as I type. They wanted us to wait till Monday and we were going to go get a bunch of water as that is all we tend to drink. Nathan was upset so they decided to come tonight.

After he departs, we are going to go get some popcorn at the movie theater close by as a treat and watch something with the dogs. We have finished most of what we were watching. Wasn't crazy about some of the season endings but onward and upward.

Dogs had a crazy fun time as you will see in the gallery. Harlow was bird hunting today and so was Jamie. Bailey was not afraid of the cover. Neither was Brewer who remembers it well. Everyone had fun. 

The dogs are late eating tonight and will when the water guy departs. I cooked up broth, turkey and veggies to add to their meal. Yum! 

Very Few Photos Today

Ms Tenshi is the only one departing today and she is gorgeous when she is groomed. Okay, she is even when not groomed.

Molly is up above. She is quite the confident dog. She is enjoying herself.

The pups departed yesterday. Yoshi is in a funk - no lie. 

We are waiting the arrival of our purifier repair guy. Nathan is out. Dennis migraine seems to be gone. 

It is cold outdoors. The dogs other than the Mr. Scotty who thinks he is a havanese likes to lounge on the deck in sight of us always cause what fun is it to lounge unless you have humans around you. 

The dogs are enjoying play indoors more than out.

Harlow and Hallie hunted the rabbits earlier but when they get close they just stare. It's so funny.

Hope you are managing to stay warm. The dogs had turkey this morning in their food and although they ate, the excitement is waning except for Harlow and Jamie and Tia. I laugh... that happens to humans too.

Happy 3rd: 2 Updates Today

Good evening Darlah and Nathan,

We celebrated Juno's third birthday today. It still feels like yesterday when she joined our family, but it also feels like she has always been a part of our family. 

She is a happy girl and she is loved. Her favourite spot is on my lap, and she loves to bark at the squirrels in our backyard. She's quite entertaining.

Muddy Times

Actually several dogs are departing and we are not letting them out.

I took a fast bunch of photos as I have been grooming and Dennis has a migraine. So, it was just me. We won't go into other possibilities.

My hands hurt. I was supposed to have tomorrow off but Nathan is out and the water purifier guy is coming so Thursday this week it is. Tonight I was supposed to go to eat with the daughter. That is cancelled. 

It's been a long day. Dogs had leftover turkey and was delighted with it.

Dogs are still having fun and I need to comb out Jax before he departs.

Three Updates Today: Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving to all. This is what we are dealing with. We took in some of outdoor funiture and many dogs are coming on looking like this - muddy feet and all. He is supposed to have cream coloured feet.

Oh boy - it is nonstop too. We love the dogs so all I can do is clean them, Dennis cleans the floor and capture the memory. As it is so busy here, we hardly got any photos but we did manage to get this one.

We have 3 updates today. Please read them. They are all special on a special day.

We have a crazy busy house today and I am trying to get everything cooked in 45 minutes. It is debatable if the potatoes will be soft but we shall see. The turkey may be done. The turkey injector clogged up. 

Now we are feeding dogs and they will get turkey after the eating has completed. Timing is crazy today. So, we will hand feed all.

Cold and Sometimes Rain

We do not have a lot of photos today. We may get more and will add them to tomorrow's gallery.

Some got brushed. Some still need to be brushed or combed out especially Rebel who lives up to her name. I can comb her out thoroughly and 5 minutes later it looks like she hasn't been touched. Charlotte and Rebel  have been running through the leaves that already started dropping. Harlow literally rolls in it. Lachlan tries to do the same and leaves get caugh throughout his coat. I want to take a blower to him. LOL

Thank you to Atoosa for a pumpkin pie last week. It is one of my faves - pumkins - Dennis too. I was a bit remiss. Apologies. 

Talking about Lachlan, thank you for the glift certificate and cookiues for the holiday. How incredibly nice. Thanks also goes to Julie for bringing a home made pie and whip cream.

We are not doing our turkey till tomorrow.

We have a busy week coming up. Many departing so many to groom. I am not taking off till Wednesday. 

We have the water purifier getting fixed. The irrigation to shut down, the furniture to bring in and all the plants to bring in. That last one is scary. I should start on the orchids today.

It's too cold already.

Just be assured all the dogs are having a grand time. Me pulling out leaves... well..

Dennis preordered a VR system and it comes on the 15th. He has his holiday present or will. He even tells me I can use it to exercise. We shall see.

Cool But No Rain

Nathan is sitting outside blanketed with dogs. He just now came in to complain about the cold. That's okay. The dogs do not seem to mind it. 

I have groomed way too many today. One tried to tell me I don't want to be combed. I laughed and persisted. People are getting ready for the holidays getting the dogs presentable. I think that is nice. It means they care.

The dogs did play a ton. 

Heat has not come on. Blankets for the dogs has. They love blankets in beds, on couches etc.

Dennis is feeding dogs and some are barking for their supper. It's a ritual.

Now that the cool has arrived we have to start thinking of bringing in furniture and plants and all that fun stuff. Leaves have to be removed. The fun stuff to do to get ready for the white stuff. Dare I mention that?

Lots of Grooming

Mr Benji and his partner in crime had their baths today. Yesterday they had a full comb out and I finished the job today. They don't go home for 2 weeks but they have been beach playing. Today I had 4 other dogs to do and really I should do 1 more as they leave at 9am. That means starting grooming before breakfast. I am mulling it over. 

I should find room for the turkey to defrost in the fridge. This will be like a rearranging craziness thing going on as I simply do not have room.

It was rainy this morning and overcast but warm most of the day. I went out a few times between dogs to get some fresh air. The dogs seem to like this weather. Tomorrow downright cold so maybe good I need to groom.

The dogs really like someone new arriving. You can see their excitement but especially Jax. He's a riot. Oh new fun....

Last Swim Day

I swam today. Nathan didn't. The dogs watched me. We didn't have any sun but it was warm. I was stubborn so I had to sun or no sun. Next week they come to close the pool and the dogs will love running across the cover. It is safe enough for 4 people to stand on it which they do every spring. They stand on it and wash it before they roll the cover off. We will wait 6 more months till an opening. Seems like a very long time.

Nathan just finished dinner. Jamie was running and I mean running and jumping all over the kitchen waiting for his meal and he had the company of Harlow and Tia doing their own version of excitement. The rest were excited but not as demonstrative. Everyone ate and was looking for more. Nathan added roast beef and cheese to their Fromms.

I am so glad the dogs enjoyed the day with the rain coming. They will have to start going out between downfalls. Let's hope for breaks. Most dislike rain. Snow they like more. Go figure.

Thanksgiving is creeping up. I have to move my turkey from the freezer to the fridge as it is a big one. I do not have room in the fridge. I have to get creative. I will look at it again tomorrow. 

I made a water bowl with the word Slurp on it today.

I had planned on washing Spirit but never got around to it. I did comb her out. At least I can choose when I do my own. I tend to do them here and there instead of a marathon on my day off. 

Nathan is back outside with the dogs enjoying the weather before the rain. I can't blame him. I can't blame the dogs either.

Sensational Weather

Ellie arrived nicely brushed. Can you tell she had a great time today? Yes, that is Sky behind her.

They say the last 2 days has been the hottest in 72 years in October. Friday it brings rain, cool and sweater weather but we will cook a turkey and share it with out visitors and dogs. We always make sure the dogs are taken care of. They deserve fresh warm turkey - don't you think?I get such pleasure from them getting excited. Yes, each morning they get chicken added in and at night ground meat but something about smelling that turkey all day gets them excited. They like roast too. 

Dogs were outside a ton today. Weather will be good tomorrow so we will make the most of it. 

I think Emmy departs tomorrow so she will get groomed up 1st thing. Mr. Lachlan and Oakley depart tonight. Mr. Rocco arrives tonight. One more warm day and umbrellas and warm and maybe heat gets turned on. Pool gets closed after Thanksgiving. We finally timed it right - a miracle.

Dennis is getting ready for a hide the treat game. He's just waiting for Rocco. I am going to cuddle up with dogs and watch tv. 

Almost another day over. How did that happen? Tomorrow I get pants delivered that I bought with points. As I lost weight I need smaller or maybe same size as last year, suspenders and long jo

Warm Again

It was a very hot day and my day off so no grooming. I play catch-up tomorrow plus do my booked dogs. None of the dogs swam as Nathan didn't want to comb out and dry. Two more days of nice weather and cold. At least it won't be snow but rain is forecasted.

Jax is back and having a roaring great time. He so loves his canine momma! Every dog is having a great time. I sat outside and used my ipad and just chilled. The dogs joined me - different ones throughout the time - on the couch - just enjoying. Though Hallie and Trigger felt the need to give me non stop kisses. It was a riot.

For some reason Harlow laid on the picnic table way out back just watching the birds, the squirrels - anything that moved. She enjoys the activity but didn't chase them today. She watched intently.

Levon joined her and I was surprised he didn't pounce. Maybe they spoke to each other saying - let's see what they do and tomorrow we will be able to have some strategy. LOL

Benji went up to his high legs on the steps but got out. Maybe he was trying to get cool. We did have ice water outdoors brimming with ice. Dennis kept changing it out. They do like cool water.

Oakley arrives tonight and departs tomorrow. We also get to see Rocco, Ollie and Lachlan tomorrow. It will be a fun day. Another warm day to enjoy for all. We feel so lucky...

I still have 2 dogs to groom. So, short blog. Today we took Ella, Misty and Sky swimming and of course they needed baths after that so I had 3 additional dogs to do. My hand is aching too so tylenol 3 to the rescue. It has not kicked in and it hurts to type.

I could have brought in Emmy, Levon and Trigger but they showed no interest. They have short hair but hey I am still in need of doing 2 more. It's a lot of work to swim as it means I need to wash and groom after. I suppose I could just blow dry but if they are wet, may as well shampoo and condition them.

Ms Harlow was back into the hunting game and got Trigger mighty interested. I laughed. What ya up to Harlow. Can I join in?

It was  a good day but off to groom. Sorry...
