Afternoon Visit With Misty and Sage Pups

Here is the gallery.

Pups had a good time. Hopefully the humans did too. They are now out cold napping. They didn't even stop to eat. They were all good using the pad each time.

They will come out again but not till after dinner. 

It was their 1st 2 times in the kitchen as we had boarders over the holidays and gals in heat. By the 8 week visit, it will be easier with no girls in heat and therefore a visiting dog can come in without craziness ensuing. Apologies. Usually we do not have gals in heat on top of it all. Heats last 3 weeks and all have been more than a week into it. 

Thank you ever so much for the chocolate. Purdys - the best - so appreciative. I mean that sincerely.

Thank you ever so much for the morning and afternoon humans coming and sharing these puppies with us. It is such a pleasure to see them interact with people they do not know yet.

6 Weeks Old 1st Bath

This is Misty's gal. They are now 6 weeks old as of yesterday. How did she do? She was more than fine and happy, happy!

I do not have any play videos or photos as it took so long to do them that when O finished the last pup, the rest were asleep. I will try to get them this afternoon. 

This is Misty's boy. He was more than fine in the bath. No issues for either being blow dried or holding them up in the air. 

They are starting to sleep almost the night through.

2 Days Before Visit

I wonder how each will do for their baths. We will find out tomorrow. It takes 20 minutes from bath to dry and photos. That is approximately 140 minutes. We also clean pads, do nails and clip around rectum. As I have 12 dogs to do tomorrow counting 7 pups - oh boy. If I do not stop, that is about 8 hours plus worth of grooming. 

Pups had fun upstairs today and they are mostly sleeping through the night now. They are having the odd accidents but also using the pads more times than not. No, we do not train them to go outside. It is impossible inb this weather. Yes, they can learn to use outdoors and a pad in case weather is bad.

The Pair

This duo seems to have Misty's personality and what is that? Fun! They are both huge snuggle bunnies.The boy reminds us of our late Katsura. 

They had a huge amount of fun the twice that they were out. After dinner they will come out again but we are trying to hold off till 8pmish so they get tired before night time settling in.

Some of them stand on their back legs with ease. It's amazing!

It is interesting as the pups are trying this wrestling business play here and there. When a puppy doesn't want to engage, they walk away. It is how it is supposed to work.

They are eating Frooms kibble. We furnish you with a bag at departure time so do not buy. We sprinkle the top with some chicken and they eat the plate contents till it is empty. We are feeding them 4 times a day now. That will go down to 3 times a day for their departure with you and when they turn approximately 5 to 6 months they go to twice a day. 

New Years Puppy Fun

Pups are sleeping after a big play session plus a deworming. They really had fun playing today. They are sleeping better. I have not taken their weights for sometime as they jump out of the scale. 

They are now drinking water well which is necessary for their bodies to function. They always have access to water.

They have a very busy week this week. Moms and pups will be bathed. They will have visits. We will do videos and photos. 

Almost the New Year

Pups play, eat and sleep. They re using the pads more and more. They are eating solid kibble now sprinkled with chicken. They no longer need softened food. 

They play with each other in such a nice way and more and more they practice running. It is fun to watch!

They are ushering in the new year having fun. I hope you manage to have fun too.

Sizing

Here is the gallery.

It is interesting as pups grow at different rates. Early on, the Misty pups were as large as the pups 1 week older and now they are relatively all the same size except a couple that started out small and will remain small. It doesn't hinder them from from keeping up. 

All 7 have been bonded obviously. They meshed well when we place them together. They remain tight so. Relationships are wonderful and after going home, if they see each other, they relish the experience of getting together again. It is wonderful to experience for them and for us.

The pups are now on harden Fromms food with chicken added in.

People Puppies

Some pups come running like their life depended on it to you when you sit down. It's a riot. I so enjoy them! When they get at this stage, they are simply fun, fun, fun.

They are still sleeping more in the day than at night. We are working on that. Perhaps increasing how many times they come out to play is the answer. We shall see.

This boy is a real people puppy. He so loves to just hang out. He climbs right up on my lap and stares at me adoringly. If he could talk.

3rd Time is the Charm?

This blog will not save and I am attempting to do it for the 3rd time before I give up. I didn't get much sleep as Sage was crying for her pups all night. Nathan was in the guestroom as we have gals in heat. I had the gals in heat and the girls - he had the rest. 

I didn't need to have to do a blog multiple times. Oh well.

Pups were licking my lens so many photos were blurry. Sorry about that!

Pups survived. They played upstairs earlier.

I did put up a bunch of videos.

Dennis will bring them upstairs again while I groom Dante before departure.

Boxing Day Fun

Looks like tonight we are setting up the xpen upstairs and pups will be upstairs with a camera that I can watch and listen to them. Nathan and Dennis will sleep and I will watch. That's me. For the 1st time they will not have moms.

It becomes 2 pens to clean. It means more laundry and flooring to clean - pads etc. It also means that we take the dogs down to go outside. Before they are fed, we have to have both moms feed the pups. They will be engorged and uncomfortable. 

Why do we do this? The goal is to get them to sleep during the night. We want the to eat more food and be a bit independent from moms so they can go home to you without doing that process at your home. 

I will take videos and in the morning we will tell you how it goes. I will upload the videos of the area tonight - well a few but the gallery won't go up till tomorrow.

I will let you know how they did. I suspect they will be fine. We shall see.

Relationships

Here is the gallery of the 7.

Although these siblings are tight, they are tight with all. People bring home a puppy from one litter and another brings one home from the other mom that were born around the same time. They often do not realize that they are so connected and to them - this is family so when they see each other, they get mighty excited after they go home and connect again. 

I love the relationships that they develop and with this 2 crew the meshing was instant. It was quite nice!

4 Weeks 1 Day: Gallery Added

Here is the gallery. They had fun with a new toy. Adults and pups loved it. 

Pups are doing well as one. Moms feed each others pups. Whomever wants to eat they do so.

They are playing together well. Soon they will head upstairs without moms at night - in a few days. 

Then we will have visits. Imagine that!
