15 Days Old

Sage's pup continue to play. I have to get it on video. They are early socializers. It is nice to watch.

Here is the gallery. The sable gal seen in the photo above is the most determined eater. She plows right in to get her spot and just like Spirit, this crew is lucky as they have 2 milk stations each feeding.

Once they start eating food, they go through a growth spurt. You can't feed too early as their digestive system must be ready plus they need to be able to stand and eat. There is that.

Time enough for everything. It all unfolds in its own time.

Videos are uploaded.

Two Weeks Old

Can you believe it is 2 weeks already? I can't.

Here is the gallery.

They are playing at times. Mom Sage is a very gentle being. Even the way she kisses the pups and you is ever so soft and delicate. I wonder if her pups will be the same?

Videos are being uploaded now.

As I am typing, Sage is feeding her pups sitting up.

13 Days Old

Here is the gallery. With all their eyes open, they are starting to interact. It's basic but it has begun. Also, the sable gal calls to mom when she wants them to eat. It's a riot. It is going to be fun to see their personalities unfold. Some like blankets on them or to tunnel in when going to sleep. Another likes to lay on his back. It is going to be fun watching.

The videos are uploaded.

Tomorrow 2 weeks old - wow!

12 Days Old: More Eyes Open

2nd born gal. Believe me her eyes were open but she was saying you woke me up for THIS? Here is her gallery.

This is 1st born gal and you can see her eyes open. LOL Here is her gallery.

This is the last born boy with his eues open. See the gallery.

The pups all gained well. The 1st is now a but over double her birth weight. The 2nd is a bit more over double her birth weight. The 3rd is double and a half over birth weight and the last one is 3 ounces shy of tripling his birth weight. I do believe gal 1 will be a small gal looking at her features and feet.

Here is the main gallery.

I am thrilled that the eyes are now open. Give them a few days to get their eyesight clear and I suspect we shall see some play.

Videos are up.

11 Days Old Plus Eyes Open

First to open his eyes. No one else has their eyes open yet. Here is the eyes open gallery. It has begun! Here is the gallery.

It is now easier for the pups as they each get 2 milk stations at least each feeding. They are gaining more too. At least that is so for the last 24 hours. We will see what it is tonight.

Moms have adjusted. Between weight gains and the amount they sleep between feedings, you can tell if their intake is good. Pups are content.

The videos now are up.

Back to 4: 10 Days Old

Here is the gallery.

We did nails today and we placed the littlest back with his birth mom, Cinnamon. Both moms seem to know and seem to be okay with it. We will see what weight gain is like at 7pm and figure out if this is permanent.

It is an emotional change for me but other than his size, he would have remained with mom but this gave him the boost that he needed. He's already had 2 feedings off mom. She cleaned him all up and is mighty delighted. Sage went in and looked, ate Cinnamon's food and she appears fine. I imagine that like we have done in the past, both moms will act as if he is theirs and share responsibilities. Win/win for him - 2 moms.

Pups are all doing well. It is hard to believe they are already 10 days old. Some are trying to get up on their legs. I can't wait till their eyes are open.

Videos should be up there by the time you read this. The last ones are the 4 and 7 and the nail clippings.

Turning 9 Days Old

Soon the blankets that give the moms comfort between the whelping areas will come down. Then the pups will be out of their whelping boxes. We do that so they can see each other before we merge them together. We do exposures in stages. In the next couple of days the blankets come down so moms get used to it as well. Then after eyes are open, the rest comes together.

Here is the gallery.

Their world changes once this happens but we are not there yet. All eyes need to be open. Soon...

What is interesting is Sage and Cinnamon's pups seem to be ahead of schedule, which is a good thing. They are already attempting walking. I believe Cinnamon's littlest one was the 1st to try. Spirit's was later but she didn't need to find mom. Mom found her. LOL There is this thing called motivation and if you don't have to....

I already uploaded a bunch of videos.

8 Days Old

It is interesting to see the size. In body length the boy of Cinnamon's is 5inches and the Sage boy is 7 inches in body length from head to start of tail. They are all growing. Are they bigger in body length or smaller than you thought?

Here is the gallery.

Sorry I am so late today but the videos are uploading as I type. They are all going 1 by one. They are almost done. Check them out here.

Sage now feeds them more times than not sitting up. How smart of her. Easier access for them and then there is gravity.

One Week Old

These pups are 7 days behind Spirit's gal. Have we merged pups that are different in age? YES! We have merged them up to 10 days apart in age.  So, we are on target to have all 3 litters together when they are old enough. That is a bonus for the litters but perhaps confusing for you. It helps them socialize with others not in their litter when merged and their bond becomes great as if they are all siblings. It is nice.

Here is the gallery.

The pups are doing well. They all like that warming and heartbeat dog. If it gets too warm, they gravitate away and if they need warmth, they have learned that the heartbeat is where to be if mom is not there. :-)

It is hard to believe that a week ago, these pups arrived.

Check out the videos.

6 Days

This is the size difference between Cinnamon's littlest boy and Sage's boy. The weight difference is 7ounces now for the littlest and 10-3/8oz for the Sage boy. For me, I am quite pleased at the growth of both. At birth, Cinnamon's was barely 4 ounces at birth and Sage's was 6 and a half ounce. As a puppy grows, they are able to gain more and more weight. In reality, their growth rate is quite comparable.

Here is the gallery.

The puppies are all doing really well. Leo's mom gave us a puppy with heat and a heartbeat and the littlest snuggle up to it. It was perfect. Leo is no longer using it. Most appreciative especially as the littlest seems to enjoy it the most.

Sage eats well. Today she had sausages, bacon and all the rest of the food that they normally have. Between Sage and Cinnamon, they love to eat. Spirit has to have only the good stuff. Who is the princess diva? LOL

You can see the videos here.
