3 Days Old

Maybe Leti is practicing covid restrictions but no more. This is the 1st day she went outside and leisurely looked around. She has been out of the whelping box several times a day.

2 Days Old

Keep thinking they were 3 days old. Funny how timeslips you by. I had to look at their weight chart.

Pups are doing well. As you can see in the videos, they are lively. They are about the same size as her last litter.

Leti refuses to leave them unless she has to go pee. She is looking a bit messy despite brushing her out. No baths till the pups are 3 weeks. It is why I wash them just before whelping and I wash the backend right after whelping.

Just Over a Day

Pups are lively and doing well. They are holding their own with weight. Now that we have milk we should see gains by tomorrow. This is normal at this size and with milk coming in after whelping. They are doing really well.

Leti is a proud mom. This is her last litter and her daughter Spirit will carry on the line. I miss her snuggles at night but Spirit is just the same wriggling into me with much love.

All Tied Up

With Leti's coat, I have to tie up her sides so the pups have access.

Leti did not have milk initually but does now. A clear indictor is seeing the milk stations filling up, a slight squeeze to see milk is in and pups sleeping between feedings. Till hours ago they were feeding non stop. They are sleeping now.

Moms with small pups have to feed more often as tummy size is small and empties quicker. As they grow the time between feedings grow.

Pups are lively and doing well. Leti has small pups and they remain on the smaller end. None of the 3 moms will have oversized.

Leti is eating well and super attentive and proud of her babies.

I am hoping that all of us will feel human after sleep. Dennis has been sleeping since 4pm and will get up at 10pm for his night duty. Tomorrow he will go to bed at 7am when we get up and get up around 3 when Nathan will nap for a couple of hours. I will go back to the land of no naps.

10 Plus Hours Old

Pups and mom are doing well.

Leti is eating if I hold the bowl in front of her face. She doesn't want to leave her pups. We ordered more mousse online. We hope it comes soon. Nathan tells me its a beautiful day out but all I want is bed.

Leti's milk is slowly coming in. This is normal for her.

All is tired. Tomorrow is a new day!

Two girls, 4 boys. May have chocolates but have to wait till colour on nose and pads come in to confirm.

She delivered from 3:13am till 5:05am. I stayed up with her all night so no sleep for over a day. Nathan had mini naps. Me not. Now I am hoping to crawl into bed.

I will try to get all the videos up as I can.

First one born is a girl and she is brown and white. Leti throws chocolates so we are not sure yet if this one is. Her pups are going to be smaller as it is the goldfish syndrome. The more space they have, the larger they get. They play catch up but her pups are smaller. This one weighs 4-5/8oz 132 grams. I have not slept. Nathan has. I thought 2am. Looks like I was wrong by approx an hour but I am exhausted and hungry. So is Leti. LOL

Now for clean up, bedding change and I get to wash Leti's back end and put her hair up on the sides.

Did I say 2am? Nathan is sleeping. Leti and I are up. She's going to have pups. She's nesting frantically.

Temp

98.2 Think it will be a very long night. At least the birthday kids don't have to share their day. LOL

Small Progress

She's napping with Nathan. No nesting yet. Can't see if her temps went up again which needs to happen so she can go into labour. I will check when she wakes up. LOL

She's now nesting and vomiting. She is baby steps in progressing.
