Happy 1st Birthday: 3 Siblings

Dear Darlah and Nathan,

Today our Tchibo turned 1! We cannot believe it has been a year! Time flies when you are having fun. 

We are forever grateful to Talemaker (especially Roxie :)) for our wonderful family member and friend Tchibo. We saw how much hard work and dedication it takes to make such wonderful pups. Thank you for your support through his first year with advice and boarding. 

Even though Tchibo is a grown-up now he is still a puppy in our books. 

We stayed home today to celebrate and do all the things he loves doing: walking in his favorite park, snuggling on the couch and enjoying tasty food. He hated taking pictures though :) 

Congratulations to Tchibo’s siblings Rheo, Milo, Tuesday and Buddy! 

Below is a photo with the “cake” from ground beef :) Now he is taking an afternoon nap after finally being let to eat two slices.

I hope today will be as special for everyone as it is for us!

Happy Birthday to all his brothers!

Wishing a happy first birthday to Rheo and his brothers. What a year it has been! It has been such fun exploring the world with him, building happy relationship with the big dogs, Kinsey-13.5 years and Jasper- 6years, and learning a bit about agility, Nosework, obedience and Rally O. He has met many friends, human and dog.

He is a well loved little cutie!💕

Rheo 8 Months Later

It is hard to believe that Roxie’s boys are already 8 months old. Rheo has been such a joy in my family. He is a popular little guy with my grandson and most everyone he meets. He is a busy squiggler these days. He has become an alarm barker, so are working on quieting that behaviour . Rheo has been in a puppy Nosework class where he showed that his nose works well, and now we are playing with puppy agility. He is quite a character and so much fun. Hope his litter mates are just as wonderful. Thanks, Darlah and Nathan.

Tchibo Visiting

He's here for an overnight and spa day. With this rain I may have to bathe just before they come unless tomorrow is nice. Not sure what I can click today with this weather. I combed, we played. The dogs and I are tired!

Happy 6th Month

Hard to believe that Roxie’s boys are 6 months old today. Rheo has been a delightful addition to my family. He makes friends with one and all, (everyone is mesmerized with his colour) is learning quickly, shows lots of spunk, and can also cuddle up on a cold day. He has also decided to do things his way, so limits have been set and rules enforced! He now listens better and plays a lot of recall games with me! Next week we start a puppy Nosework class where he will learn to seek out certain scents and play some puppy learning games. Should be fun! Happy 6 month birthday to Rheo and his 4 brothers who I imagine are all adorable and doing well.

Rheo Missing Teeth

Hi Darlah,

Thought that I would send an update on Rheo. He had his vet check and last vaccines today and weighed in at 7.2 pounds. He is also gaining lots of new teeth. He is so friendly and co-operative there and has a big fan club amongst the staff.

He is doing well in puppy class and learning lots. It sure is new to train such a wee guy, but I am figuring out how to adjust my old skills to suit his needs.

He is having lots of fun playing with the big dogs and they all get along well.

Rheo is an ongoing delight. My daughter and friends all want to steal him and take him home, so I check large handbags before they leave😆ha, ha!

Training

Rheo is getting trained up on high. I asked if I could share this photo. It is SO important tp train your little one in different surroundings. The key is to positively expose, expose, expose. What you put into it early on will make a difference. Do you ever stop learning? Your dog would love the same experience. 

Rheo Update

Hard to believe that our puppies are already 16 weeks old. Rheo is sure a smart, fun little guy. He started puppy class last week and we have a lot to learn, but he sure catches on fast. He is now going on 30 minute walks with big 'brother' Jasper and tries to run much of that time. Playtime with all three dogs is lots of fun to watch. Rheo certainly holds his own. Both Jasper and Kinsey are now playing regularly with him. Luckily all have a good off switch and enjoy long naps together, too.

Rheo is a happy little guy who makes friends wherever he goes.

Hope the rest of the brothers are doing well.

Roxie already misses the pups. That's okay Tchibo is coming back for a visit. It's been fun!

These two are having a complete blast. It took Tchibo a bit to start playing, It seems he came from class and was mighty tired but then his parents left and they played and played and played and have been doing the same today.

Rheo Update: 2 Updates Today

Rheo update.

Good Sunday morning from Rheo. We are enjoying a sunny morning for a change on the deck. Saturday we went to sit by the river to listen to some Celtic music. It gave Rheo a chance to experience this different sound, be part of a small friendly crowd, and see some ducks hanging out by and on the river. He very happily said hello to many folks who admired his happy, friendly demeanor and his lovely rich chocolate colour.

Later on at home, it was then fun to see all three dogs engage in some playtime where all three were tugging on the same toy. He can sure hold his own😆

He has also discovered the joy of digging so I have to be very diligent in watching his every move. Might need to get the play pen out, but so far I can redirect him.

He is learning a bit of shaping with a clicker to sit in a box, and is doing well with his sit and down commands with great treats of course. He now walks around the block on leash with me and my old Golden, Kinsey. Jasper has decided that the puppy really is fun and the two of them do zoomies in the yard at full speed. Who knew that these little legs could run so fast!

His coat is great, but hair is getting in his eyes, so may need a tip on how to keep it away from his eyes. Till next time--- Marjolein, Kinsey, Jasper, and Rheo
