Frisbee Take 2

Jeannie is doing rather well with this Frisbee game.
She now brings it back over half the time without a treat. She is getting it!
She continues to eat with gusto, play her little heart out and embrace life with fun being the goal.
Today we had some people over that loved playiong with her. She has had so much exposure to many humans and dogs and it has just begun.
Tuesday Panda goes to handling class and so will Jeannie. She won't be walking around but it will be more exposure as she hasn't had her 2nd shot yet.
She goes on Thursday for her vet checkup and shots and then she will start obedience classes I hear with Timmy. She will also start going to handling class weekly. When her pedigree arrives, we will register her and get her into some sanction matches and baby puppy classes to get her practice for when she is 6 months and can start getting points towards her championship. It's going to be a fun ride with this one!

Jeannie is so cute! Luv that 2nd photo - it's one for the memory box. It'll be fun to watch this little one grow and learn. The fun is just beginning. :-)
We're contemplating which course to take next and a group of friends are joining us so have decided to do a majority vote. :-) Hmmm, will be interesting . . .

Debi: Great to see you are doing more classes. Are your friends dogs all different breeds? It will make great fun to do it with those you know plus it is a great motivator. I am still looking for a tricks class and hoping I can talk Lori into it and anyone else that is interested. We have Jeannie going into the class with Timmy - haven't heard re: Cha Cha. Nathan has a lot of work to do as she hasn't been on a lead yet. She has stack on the table and floor down pat. She also needs to learn to walk right next to Nathan. He has his work cut out for him. Can't wait till she has her next shot. 3 more days and counting.
Darlah - We have a lot of dogs on our cul de sac. We often have people approaching us asking what breed Laci is and commenting on how well she walks on her lead. We continue to reinforce her commands while on the lead and walking the neighbourhood. Also, we're now confident enough w/ Laci to lay her lead down and practice more commands, like stay and come - wonderful safety practice. Laci's neighbour dog friends are 2 Bichons, a Multi-poo, a mix who was rescued and brought home the same week as Laci and of course there's our next door neigbour the Beagle who seems to require some training and who Laci quietly ignores. :-) There's more, but these ones want more training. Time will tell if we can get this group going, and if it doesn't happen soon enough, we'll enroll in one of Gillian's classes. I'll keep an eye out for the "Tricks" class and perhaps you could let me know as well.
Sounds like Jeannie is coming along nicely! She's learned a lot in her short time at her new home, but those 1st few weeks are wonderful to train as they're like sponges! :-)
We have done minimal training this first week on purpose. She had to adjust to a time change, new foods, new house, new dogs, new owners so we started with name recognition and stacking and training to retrieve. It was all done with fun no set training - just things we incorporated throughout the day. After her shots she will have lead training. We can't teach sit due to the show ring. But we will be working on stand and finishing next to us. We are also working on house training and manners. She is a delight. She is full of herself and that's great for the ring. She also has a fun personality much like Kat who to this day walks over the other dogs to get to you as it is all about him. She has that same attitude.
How cute! I think I prefer a little bit of sass to go along w/ good manners too. :)
