Back to Updates

Jeannie has become a 'bark' this is what I want gal.

We are correcting this as it is not a behavior you want to encourage but some will try it out to see what your reaction is. If you give in it will escalate.

You never ever give them what they want when they are exhibiting ill behavior.

That doesn't mean we don't love her. We do.

Remember rules, limitations and boundaries with consistency is real love done in a positive way.

She is still a baby and will get there.

She seems to be getting much better on the occasions when we see her.....much less barking. Obviously you are making corrections and she is learning quickly. She has that true show dog swagger I have to say. She seems to have this aura about her and she really has a presence that fills the room. It's a very "look at me, I'm wonderful" kind of feeling. Interesting to see especially since Scruffy has a different sort of energy. I truly love how each of the dogs has a different personality. I never understood that about dogs until now, but you almost have to live your life alongside them to be able to see it at first.

Our girl (now 18 months) is a talker rather than a barker. When she wants something she stands by your leg and grumbles musically in her throat. Sometimes it means "I need to go out NOW" and sometimes it means "Play with me because the old dog doesn't want to" sometimes "Open the toy box, please". If we ignore her, she goes away.
